I live in the West of Sydney. We had a very short downpour this morning. Now it is sunny and breezy. Don't know if it rained where the fires are or in the catchment areas. Not too smokey at the moment.
Not such good news now. DD&Son in L are in Cudmirrah, no electricity or phone. They have filled the gutters with water are are hoping the fire won’t get there. I’m not concerned for their safety though, the sea is only a couple of hundred yards and the lake the same in the other direction. That’s the good news.
Happy New Year ScotinOz and may 2020 bring better things, including a good few downpours for you over there. We were watching people who escaped to the shore in Gippsland, the skies red, and then watching the fireworks in Sydney. There is a message there somewhere, not quite worked out what it is yet.
I can remember when people sheltered in the sea when fires raged in Tasmania a few years ago.
