Just had to Google him to see who you were talking about!..oh yes I loved him as Lord Melbourne

gulligranny Fri 24-Jan-20 10:13:01

Watched him, mesmerised, on Breakfast TV yesterday morning. He is another of those fortunate men who has just got more gorgeous with age; when he was young I didn't like him at all (too skinny for my liking) but now - cold shower territory!

I would never refuse Sewell..

Callistemon Fri 24-Jan-20 11:26:10

Me neither henetha
But get to the back of the queue everyone, I claimed him even before kitty.

Rufus who? I had to google him - to discover he looks vaguely familiar, but for the life of me I can't think of anything I've ever seen him in.

Do I need to stay in more?

Stop it kitty! I’m trying to keep it together here and failing badly? Oh my, just off to day dream?

Update for Kitty - Rufus Sewell is appearing in the latest Agatha Christie story ‘The Pale Horse’ on BBC1 on 9 Feb. Just saying blush

Thanks kate, I had spotted that and have a dilemma!! Much as I love Rufus, I cant cope with spooky stuff. confused what's a girl to do?

BlueSky Sat 01-Feb-20 10:16:26

I don't think the original Lord M was as glamorous as Rufus but then Victoria wasn't as beautiful as the actress playing her. The only one I believe was as handsome as the actor was Albert!

Anniebach Sat 01-Feb-20 10:17:08

Not interested in Rufus Sewell, I WANT Lord Melbourne

Rufus2 Sat 01-Feb-20 10:44:56

Not interested in Rufus Sewell, I WANT Lord Melbourne
Annie are you sure? He turned up at Fawlty Towers and was a real smooth-talking con man; a proper cad! hmm

Anniebach Sat 01-Feb-20 10:49:40

Rufus. Lord Melbourne, a cad ? never , a perfect gentleman

SueDonim Sat 01-Feb-20 13:44:11

Be still, my beating heart! grin

NanKate Sat 01-Feb-20 16:23:55

lemongrove Sat 01-Feb-20 16:36:49

Trying to think of when I first noticed blush Rufus Sewell,
Think it was an adaptation of a George Eliot story, Mill On The Floss maybe?Somebody will know ( Kitty?)?

ninathenana Sat 01-Feb-20 16:54:14

I don't think a A.C. story will be that spooky kitty
Record it and watch it in daylight smile

SueDonim Sat 01-Feb-20 18:15:53

Middlemarch, I think, Lemongrove.

lemongrove Sat 01-Feb-20 18:39:41

That’s the one! Thanks SueD?

lemongrove Sat 01-Feb-20 18:41:22

Rufus ?well remembered, Lord Melbourne the conman who fools poor Basil, haha.

BlueSky Sat 01-Feb-20 18:42:20

Victoria loved her men, always looking for that father figure she missed so much as a child!

Rufus2 Sun 02-Feb-20 13:28:27

Rufus ?well remembered
No problem Lemongrove When they carry out an autopsy on my brain in due course, they'll find imprints of all the TV Christmas specials by all the great comedy artists. Plus the Goon Shows of course! grin

I am obviously on a parallel universe. Either that or 'Al' has removed the memory banks for that. OTOH, CH is in the dark too. ?
