Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, but dry here in Brackley this morning, usual Tuesday, housework to start then prepare for my bus trips to Buckingham and Bicester .
Mind you my return route takes me through villages effected by the East-West Rail link and HS2.
Had to get a new mouse yesterday and keyboard so things are better today.

Hello Emily

Another lurker here who very much enjoyed your mother's postings.

I was immensely saddened to read her post telling us of her recent hospital visit and the awful news she received there.

Her goodbye message was so sad but it came as a huge shock to read that she had passed away - no time even for a hospice.

Her love for you shone through her posts and I am sure that you can gauge from the reactions here how well respected she was and how terribly sad all her virtual friends are today.

Quite often more a reader than a poster but my sincere condolences to you Emily on the loss of your lovely mother. I read her last poignant post and wondered if I will be as brave when the time comes. She was an entertaining lady with a lovely way with words . She will be missed

I am another who reads but seldom posts. Only reading now as it has been a sad day with my sister in law who has been very ill in hospital dying. She had dementia Emily but your mum was full of life and her posts were so entertaining. I hope the memories you have bring you some comfort.

Dear Emily, Thank you for telling us. Your lovely mum wrote funny, evocative and entertaining posts. Big bosies to you and the mutt. I am going for a walk in my woods and to think of her and you and your family. I shall toast her after supper tonight.

May the road rise up to meet you
May the wind always be at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
The rains fall soft upon your fields
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

I’m so late today with one thing and another but would like to take this opportunity Emily to offer my heartfelt condolences to you and your family.

As Norts said so poignantly up thread

Your mum (and the mutt) will be remembered with great fondness here, by women right across the country, with daffodils in their windows, lighting candles in her memory and raising toasts in her honour

Your mum was one brave lady and we shall all miss her on here. x

I’m not a regular on these threads, either, but I am so sorry to hear about your mum, the lovely OldGaijin. I live in the shire, not so very far away from you and I have some daffodils coming into bloom on my kitchen table in her memory.

Thank you so much for taking the time to contact Gransnetters. My thoughts are with you. Xxx

Good Morning All x

Sincere condolences to Emily on the loss of your lovely mum. Nobody would ever have known how ill she was because her posts never reflected how she must have really felt at times.

I used to enjoy hearing of her walks in the woods with " the mutt " who must have enjoyed the jaunts more so than she herself latterly and had realised towards the end that she was getting weary but kept on going. May she now rest in peace x .

Grammaretto Tue 04-Feb-20 10:09:59

Thanks Emily for taking the trouble amidst your sadness to let us virtual friends know that Janet has gone.
I will miss her early morning romps with the mutt. She would go out in all weathers. She was a maker of things too wasn't she. In fact a remarkable person.
Sending loving thoughts to you and the family.
