Good Morning Everyone,
its dark but dry outside and a clear sky I can see the moon, here in Brackley.
Today, we have a meeting where I am later , also shop etc and maybe venture further if the weather remains calm.
If the forthcoming storm arrives it may change my plans even at the weekend but its a ?
Mick

Good morning Mick.
Dark here in Leicestershire.

Spent a couple of days at the hospital this week.
Looked at myself on Tuesday and I was yellow!
Funnily enough no one else could see it but sure enough my bilirubin levels were up. My DS suggested I lie under an ultra violet light naked like my DGD after she was born!
Turns out I have had high levels for a number of years and probably have Gilbert’s Syndrome.
The good news is it shouldn’t affect the chemo!

I hope you all have a good day.
Sending especial thoughts to Mary, Lins and of course Gilly, just the weekend to get through!

Urmstongran Fri 14-Feb-20 06:55:55

Good morning from South Manchester to you Mick, a yellow dragonfly and all who follow. It’s dark, dry and seems cold out. No need for us to childmind today so a whole day stretches out with no plans. I must be pre-programmed though to wake at 6am!

I really enjoyed spending time with the grandchildren and at 7y and 3y it’s tiring but definitely fun. Apparently I think up the best games ever! Magic forests, monsters, a fairy wand to make the children turn into animals or babies. Cost = zilch. Fun = huge.

I’ve brought my tea back to bed. Himself is fast asleep next to me.

Hope Friday is kind to us all whether we have any plans or, like me, none. x

BlueSapphire Fri 14-Feb-20 06:58:32

Good morning Mick, Dragonfly and all to come from Northampton where it is still dark, but I can see that the cars have a thick layer of frost.

Hairdressers this morning and then may treat myself to lunch out. Nothing else planned, but a quiet afternoon in probably watching another recorded film. Three or four left to watch then I can install the new BT Box.

Hope you get sorted Dragonfly. And best wishes to all for a good day.

Brunette10 Fri 14-Feb-20 07:03:04

Good Morning from a damp Fife. Very dark out at the moment. We have our 2 x DGS's today and of course it's half term so have them both all day. It will be a busy one but hopefully enjoyable. Dragonfly - I do hope you get everything sorted out, look after yourself. For all those under the weather take good care. It's Friday once again!

Scentia Fri 14-Feb-20 07:09:09

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire. Weather looks dry but chilly out there.
My visit to the neurologist yesterday was good news I suppose but still waiting for some results. She didn’t seem to think there was anything seriously wrong though.

Off work today so off to DD and we are taking DGS to ‘wriggly readers’ at the library.
I will be bringing DGS home to stay the night so his mummy and daddy can have a romantic night in for valentine’s. I love getting up with him in the morning, he is the happiest little boy.
Hope everyone has a good Friday and a peaceful weekend, hoping that Denis the Menace isn’t too naughty.

NanKate Fri 14-Feb-20 07:09:49

Morning Mick and All.

‘Red sky in the morning Shepherds’ warning’ well it is a fabulous shade of red, orange and pink in South Bucks.

May pop out today to see if I can get some peach juice to add to the Prosecco tonight as I think that makes a Bellini). We are having the prawn cocktail, followed by lamb on the bones (forget what you call those) and then half of the very indulgent choc pud, we will keep the other for the weekend. Slump in front of the fire. Back to more healthy eating this weekend.

Glad the syndrome is not going to affect the chemo Dragonfly.

NanKate Fri 14-Feb-20 07:11:21

Glad your news is hopeful Scentia 👍

Nannytopsy Fri 14-Feb-20 07:11:22

Good morning Mick and all his followers!
It’s a very pink sunrise here in Suffolk. I am off to an auction this morning, then some shopping. DH is still fast asleep, despite the alarm!
That must have worried you Dragonfly and I hope all can be sorted.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

kittylester Fri 14-Feb-20 07:24:36

Good morning all from a slightly overcast North Leicestershire.

Butcher's and Sainsbury's this morning and then, assuming the plumbers have gone, putting the kitchen back into order.

Dragonfly, I bet that was alarming!!

Grammaretto Fri 14-Feb-20 07:28:45

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Beautiful pink sky for Valentine's day.
I'm having 2 teeth extracted this morning which I'm dreading. Not romantic at all.
I hope your condition can be treated Dragonfly
Have a happy love filled Friday everyone. ❤

cornergran Fri 14-Feb-20 07:31:12

Morning Mick, morning All from our bright, clear corner of Somerset. Chilly that’s for sure. Audiology with Mr C, a tour round looking at replacement doors and a food shop. Romantic aren’t we? One of ours has Gilbert’s Syndrome dragonfly so understand the yellow look. We’ve noticed it flares when he’s particularly tired and stressed. I’m pleased it won’t impact your chemo regime. Good to hear the neurologist appointment had a positive outcome scentia. Time to get going. Audiology here we come. Hope Friday is kind to everyone and warm wishes to all struggling with health or other worries.

Sark Fri 14-Feb-20 07:34:26

Good Morning everyone
Bright morning in Oxfordshire.
Glad to hear it was pretty good news Scentia
Look after yourself Dragonfly
Love the sound of your games Urmstongran I hope to borrow the fairy wand this weekend!
Best wishes to all

Mommawolf Fri 14-Feb-20 07:43:23

Goodmorning all the sky is a wonderful pink and grey and a heavy frost this. Morning. SCENTIA good news. Went to pub quiz night which became a very entertaining evening some lovely southern lrish tourists staying there. Came in all flustered as believed they had almost hit a very large black dog on the bridge.,had been searching for it. Cue tales of Black Shuck the Norfolk devil dog that stalks the lanes and coastline. Two hours later the bar was in full flow with supernatural tales of Irish Banshees and ghosts. An interesting evening. Have a good day everyone.

Lins1066 Fri 14-Feb-20 07:45:11

Good Morning Mick and all.
There is a red sky here too NanKate tha calm before the storm maybe.
Sorry to hear tat you have spent two days in hospital dragonfly but good news that it won't affect your chemo.
Poor you Grammaretto, not the best way to spend Valentine's Day, I'm sure it won't be as bad as you think.

Have a good day everyone, thinking of all with illness and worry.

Ginny42 Fri 14-Feb-20 07:47:14

Good morning Mick and everyone. An early call from DD when she wanted to chat, so that's a very nice start to my day. I'm back in bed and can see the moon. The trees are silhouetted against a mauve sky and there's frost on my neighbour's roof opposite. Usual walk in the woods at 9.00.

Went out for milk yesterday and thought I'd get a few extra provisions with Dennis on the way. Guess what I came back without!

Dragonfly I have Gilbert's syndrome. Occasionally my skin gets a yellow tinge and the whites of my eyes are yellowish in the mornings, but it's gone by lunchtime. Hope that's reassuring. Scentia you must be feeling so much better.

Thinking of everyone with ills and chills. Enjoy your day everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 14-Feb-20 07:47:19

Goodmorning Mick and all x

Woke up far too early, just couldn't get back to sleep!! Bright here in SE Essex I could also see the moon Mick.

Off to the gym first thing, not sure what we are up to this evening, might stroll, down to our local Turkish Restaurant or might stay in.

dragonfly hope you return to normal colour soon.
scentia'you must be relieved.

Keep warm and safe folks, *Happy Valentines Day*flowers

Marydoll Fri 14-Feb-20 07:48:04

Good morning all from a damp Glasgow, no rain, hail nor snow for the moment. It's also quite light for change.

I have to go and pick up a new prescription, (yes, again!). DH has offered to take me, but I fancy a couple of hours on my own. Apart from the hospital on Monday, I haven't been out for a week and I'm getting a bit stir crazy.

Scentia, I'm glad the news wasn't as bad as you feared, hoping you are a feeling bit more settled , Dragonfly, that is the last thing that you need just now! sad.
I was going to counsel you not to consult Dr Google, but the info is actually very helpful. People often only find out if they are having chemo. Hoping you are not suffering too much from this round of chemo.
Grammaretto, I share your apprehension, I hate going to the dentist and two of my conditions mean three monthly visits. 😫

For everyone on here who has pain or worries, 💐

Susan56 Fri 14-Feb-20 07:53:49

Good morning from the Shropshire borders.
Dropping DGD at pre school at lunchtime then into town for lunch and food shop.
Dragonfly glad the condition won’t affect your chemo and Scentia glad you had good news.
Thinking of all with illness and worries.

NannyJan53 Fri 14-Feb-20 07:54:20

Good Morning from a chilly Black Country. We have a lovely red sky here too!

Cold is still lingering, so will not be going on my Friday morning Health Walk. Probably some housework, then relax.

We have our M & S meal for tonight. I like a touch of Apricot Brandy in my Prosecco NanKate we call it Champagne Charlie smile

Wishing everyone a good day, with special thoughts to gilly Dragonfly Marydoll Lins and Scentia

Mythbirtthedragon Fri 14-Feb-20 08:02:14

Good morning from east London, bright and clear at the moment and doesn’t feel as cool as the forecast suggests. It’s Southend Friday again today, via a trip to the charity shop; we’ve got about 8 bags to drop off. Got half an eye on some tennis highlights at the moment, my rationale being they only last 20 minutes so it’s not ‘wasting’ too much time. Hope you have a good day.

NfkDumpling Fri 14-Feb-20 08:08:47

Morning All

Very pink earlier on here in the north of Norfolk. That lovely flattering pink which I think all light bulbs should be. Gone now and clouded over. I thought there had been a frost Mommawolf but not very much of one up here. Love the thought of Irishmen being introduced to Shuck. Banshees and fiery eyed black dogs. Wonderful!

Did you see your brain scan Scentia? I did, and it was a very weird feeling! Good news that it’s nothing serious.

Off to art class this morning. I must improve eventually.

Harris27 Fri 14-Feb-20 08:31:11

Happy Valentine’s Day to you all! Had very trying day at work and glad it’s Friday once again trying to stay hopeful that the weather may be kind to us this weekend but forecast not food. Hubby left me card and chocolates and flowers this morning so that started my day well!

conor Fri 14-Feb-20 08:46:26

Good morning from a sunny cold Essex. Storm Dennis waiting in the wings so had better stock up with provisions!! Lovely night out with DS. Went to a Turkish restaurant which I had never been to before and the food was delicious. Will have to wait til next Xmas before we do it again but lovely to spend some quality time with him. Have a good day everyone xxxx

Beechnut Fri 14-Feb-20 08:50:49

Good Morning everyone from a light and dry Severnside.

Off to do my weekly shop later.

Earlier on in the week I washed my dressing gown and I’ve just found I’ve been wearing it since with a peg still attached to it 😂

Hope you all enjoy Valentines Day whatever you do 😍

Anniebach Fri 14-Feb-20 08:55:08

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Nortsat46 Fri 14-Feb-20 08:57:44

Good morning Mick and the GM team.
So pleased to hear your good news Scentia and glad that your chemo is unaffected Dragonfly, but I can imagine it was quite alarming.

I have two presents from my partner, as yet unopened and I have two to give him, for Valentines. We will have a special supper and fizz tonight. But for now, I am waiting for my meds to ‘kick in’ and my partner is feeding the cats. Thus it’s not ‘romantic city’ in our house this morning.

Good thoughts to all, especially those facing challenges today. 💐

Pantglas2 Fri 14-Feb-20 08:58:50

Happy valentines morning all from dry north Wales where instead of my chamberpot of tea I’ve indulged in a freshly made Buck’s Fizz and smoked salmon blinis for breakfast (DH can’t have alcohol whilst in charge of crutches, so I had to have his......what a chore wink!)

This Gilbert syndrome is something my friend has and I used to be envious as I thought she looked lightly tanned! Hope your results are good news Scentia.

A lovely day for all please - now off to tend to the (im)patient!

DoraMarr Fri 14-Feb-20 09:00:03

Good morning from Birmingham, where it is dry, with gathering clouds. I slept in this morning, unaccountably. The concert last night was very good. The solo violinist had stepped in at the last minute because the original soloist was ill, and he played a very tricky piece beautifully.
I MUST do some housework this morning! My little grandson is coming to stay the night, so I won’t have time tomorrow. I too love the morning when he wakes up, he’s delightful.
Scentia, dragonfly, grammaretto, Marydoll and anyone else I have forgotten- smile flowers

Alygran Fri 14-Feb-20 09:00:05

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s clear and calm so far.
Washing on and about to get ready to go and do some bits for the Charity I volunteer with.
Revamped laptop expected back this afternoon. It will have a new electronic hard drive so should load quickly and I won’t be spending forever watching the little circle going round!
Hoping the storm isn’t too bad as I am going into York tomorrow to see the Van Gough Immersive exhibition.
Good wishes to all who are not well. Glad to hear some promising news from Scentia.
Hope oe today is kind to everyone.

gillybob Fri 14-Feb-20 09:03:25

Good morning from a very blustery North East Coast.

At about 2am I woken by a very strange noise in the front street and went downstairs to investigate, I live in a terraced, 3 storey house and the noise was getting louder as I got closer to the front door. I opened the door and was greeted by a pair of the most enormous foxes I have ever seen just standing there staring at me . I almost felt like inviting them in . They stood there for a few minutes and then scurried off (probably back to the park which is only just a short walk away). Made me chuckle anyway.

I am so glad you got some good news yesterday Scentia I bet that was a huge weight off your mind. You can relax a bit now. And poor you dragonfly . So glad that your syndrome won’t affect your chemo. Wishing it was all over for you.

Have a good Valentines Friday everyone, hoping we all have some sunshine in our lives .

Love Gillybob xx

harrigran Fri 14-Feb-20 09:11:08

Good morning from a bright NE.
Staying in today as I am expecting a parcel.
Half term commences today, asked for information regarding childcare a week ago, still no word. We wouldn't be going anywhere in February so no problem.
Thoughts are with poorly people.

Mapleleaf Fri 14-Feb-20 09:11:52

Good morning all,

It's a beautiful, crisp, calm morning here in South Yorkshire with a touch of frost. Hard to believe it's going to change so dramatically tomorrow.

I dropped my car in for its service and MOT this morning and have just enjoyed a lovely walk back. Hope it's still lovely later when I go back to collect it!

Had a lovely surprise yesterday for today, when some beautiful flowers came through the post from DH, along with a card which I opened this morning.

So glad to hear the positive news about your scan, Scentia. You must be so relieved.

Thinking of you Grammaretto and hope it's not as bad as you fear at the dentist, I've got to have some fillings in a few weeks and can't say I'm looking forward to that, either!

Thoughts to all who are unwell or worried. Hope today brings comfort.

Baggs Fri 14-Feb-20 09:12:05

I'm glad you got that fox chuckle, gillybob. Good for the soul, I daresay 🙂

Been feeling a bit sorry for myself with my broken shoulder. It's incredibly demanding of energy. And painful. Keep telling myself it could be worse.

The weather, however, could be better! Grey and dreich again today though I did manage a dry walk yesterday. I had my hiking boots on but terrified myself when my toe caught on a rock, which is exactly what caused me to fall and wreck my shoulder!!! Seems I'd trip over a blimmin' postage stamp these days!

Hey ho.

Happy Friday, everyone.

QuaintIrene Fri 14-Feb-20 09:14:08

Good morning Everyone.
Chilly but fine in West Yorkshire.
Glad to hear your news Scentia things are moving along for you.
Little cat starts on some drops for her heart trouble next week.
My supermarket order had the fresh stuff missing when I unpacked it all. No butter. No crumpets. No baking potatoes. How very dare they ! Time to negotiate with Iceland before I go to war.
Love to all who are ill or troubled 💐 and love to everyone else 💐

Greyduster Fri 14-Feb-20 09:17:53

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Bright and cold in South Yorkshire today. Son in law us calling round at lunchtime to help DH with something and this afternoon I may be allowed out for a short walk in the fresh air before the weather turns nasty again. Whoopee! Kind thoughts to all with illness and worries. Have a good day folks.

Willynilly Fri 14-Feb-20 09:24:53

Good morning Mick et al. The sun is shining here in the East Mids....good flippin’ job as I’ve got to work in the garden today filling all the b***dy holes the b***dy puppy has dug in the flower beds!
Hope everyone has a peaceful and restful Valentine’s Day and that worries recede even if it’s for a short while.

Auntieflo Fri 14-Feb-20 09:31:17

Good morning Michael, Annie, and all.
Heard scraping earlier, so must have been frosty windscreens.
Had my shoulder X-rayed yesterday afternoon. Luckily I was able to go to a Health Space facility that is near to us, and there is usually no trouble in parking. Bonus.
I'm hoping that the replacement bulb I ordered for our microwave arrives today, as it's not much fun when you can't see what's happening inside, to stop an overflow of porage or sauce.
Gillybob, glad to hear the foxes made you laugh, but brave to go and investigate the noise.
Nice to know your scan went well Scentia, and sorry to hear that Dragonfly has been in hospital, but nothing too serious.
I had an old bentwood chair collected last night, by a Freecycler, who was very nice. Glad it is going to a good home.
Have a good day one and all, and kind thoughts to all who are poorly.

NanKate Fri 14-Feb-20 09:48:01

NannyJ I definitely like the sound of apricot brandy and fizz. You are a girl after my own heart.

Kitty you are seeing a hell of a lot of your butcher, but I remember you said he wasn’t anything to write home about. 😉

Newquay Fri 14-Feb-20 10:16:54

Oh Gillybobwhat on Earth were you thinking of, opening your door at 2am? Please tell us your security chain was on at least!

Kalu Fri 14-Feb-20 10:21:09

Good morning from a dreich start in Glasgow.

That must have been quite alarming for you Dragonfly and had you thinking, what now?! Something you could have done without but, thankfully, it’s nothing sinister which will give you some peace of mind. Best wishes.

Aw, Baggs I know how you feel. Being unable to get on as normal plus pain, does get you down. Can you ask your GP for stronger pain relief? Hope you feel some improvement soon. 💐

A bit of reassurance for you Scentia. My brain scan showed some wrinkling to which my neurologist explained, well Kalu, with age, as you wrinkle outside, so, you wrinkle inside. We both chuckled as I told him he was no gentleman referring to a ladies wrinkles😁

A stay at home day with some footering about and trying out some paint effects on an old lamp base.

A pleasant day to all.

vena11 Fri 14-Feb-20 10:21:23

A late Good Morning from Bristol.
Scentia that's good news.
Dragonfly what a worry for you, thinking of you.
Nothing much on the cards for me today DH is going out for lunch with some of his friends so the house is mine for a few hours.
I hope everyone has a good day.

Taichinan Fri 14-Feb-20 10:30:23

Good morning Mick 'n All. I've been up for ages, honestly, but having a lazy start after a busy Thursday - two tai chi classes back-to-back in the morning followed by an afternoon with friends. We first met up as an art group about 22 years ago when we were quite productive with our painting. Do you remember Watercolour Challenge on TV? Well, if they ever put it on radio we'd do really well as we now talk excellent paintings! Sadly now our number is down to four and the youngest is 75. How did that happen? Anyway, think I'll pop off for my 'occasional' food shop in M&S in Dennis the Menace's home town before he starts throwing buckets of water over us! Have a good day everyone - and I'm so glad to hear your news was better than you anticipated Scentia.

Megs36 Fri 14-Feb-20 10:30:25

Gilly,I wonder if foxes always keep in twos! We were having a cuppa in our little conservatory last week when a pair (Mr and Mrs?) strolled past the window and disappeared over the fence in our very tiny garden, wonder where they were going....

Kalu Fri 14-Feb-20 10:35:24

gilly, forgot to say, we have a fox who thinks our garden is where she lives and enjoys being chased around the garden, no idea what gender but we call her Emilia (fox)😁

CaroleAnne Fri 14-Feb-20 10:36:30

Good morning and a Happy Valentines day from sunny Warminster.
My husband presented me with a beautiful glass rose bowl and 12 red Roses. We are looking forward to our waitrose meal for two later.
Hope that you all have a good day whether you have plans or not.
My thoughts go out as always to those who are infirm or unwell.

CaroleAnne Fri 14-Feb-20 10:41:08

What a lovely surprise Gillybob to be confronted by two foxes on your doorstep. Maybe they came to wish you a happy Valentines day.
Good news for you Scentia. Less for you to worry about and you can move forward.

EllanVannin Fri 14-Feb-20 10:42:52

Good Morning All x
Rather nice first thing but has gone decidedly grey with rain not far away.

Well I must give myself a pat on the back for my shin-beef stew yesterday. It was delicious and " mushy " with the beef melting in the mouth and baby beetroots just to finish it off. Thinking I might have enough for a bowl of it today----I polished the lot off and didn't have room for any pud.

Dragonfly, my eldest D ( in Oz ) has Gilbert's syndrome and it's only if she has some sort of infection that she shows up " yellow " but apart from that she's remained well and it's not detrimental to her health. Don't worry x.
After she'd been born 59 years ago, she became very jaundiced and it kept us both in hospital for 10 days. sad

A few years ago her daughter showed Thalassaemia in a blood-test after having a couple of faints, but not sure if this is connected to the Gilbert's, though it's still the liver and possibly genetic.

Must make sure I have everything I want before tomorrow, cat food especially as I don't want to be chasing around in stormy weather.

Thoughts to those who aren't too grand and hope things improve xx

Ruby41 Fri 14-Feb-20 11:33:51

Enjoy your dinner, NanKate - I think it's rack of lamb that you'll be eating this evening - one of my favourites too. smile

Applegran Fri 14-Feb-20 12:08:43

Hello from a bright dry Somerset and special good wishes to Dragonfly and Scentia - and everyone facing illness or other difficulites. I posted yesterday that I get a card on Valentine's Day, but not a gift - and blow me down, this morning Mr Apple gave me a lovely card and a pendant I'd admired in a shop a few weeks ago! And I received a beautiful card from a stranger via the Mental Health Collective mentalhealthcollective.org.uk
I hope the family I sent a card to will enjoy it as much as I'm enjoying mine - sent by a caring stranger. The mental health collective do good things to bring people together - everyone, not only people with mental health issues, because we all need to connect with other people.

NanKate Fri 14-Feb-20 12:41:49

Good to see you back Ruby I pmd you last year and as I didn’t hear back thought you had left us.

You are right it is a rack of lamb. 👍

Grammaretto Fri 14-Feb-20 12:42:40

Applegran what a heartwarming day you are having.

Gilly. I had a fright once when I saw a fox up by the road after dark and called my DD to see it. I had half closed the front door but on opening it to show DD, foxy was up the steps about to enter. I shut it very quickly.

Only one tooth gone and not too sore. I shall keep my mouth shut. DH has bought concert tickets for tonight.

Jaan12 Fri 14-Feb-20 13:37:52

Breezy day here in Fife but Sun managing to get through the clouds occasionally. Hope everyone has a good day.
