I didn’t actually choose mine, I was given it by my DD

No particular connection really. I like trees and wanted a simple name which was a native tree. ?

Curlywhirly Tue 25-Feb-20 17:20:37

SueDonim Oh, I wish!! She's aged so well hasn't she? No, unfortunately, I'm not remotely famous. ???

SueDonim Tue 25-Feb-20 17:14:34

I nicked mine from a book I was reading.

CurlyWhirly, are you Liz Hurley? grin

sarahellenwhitney Tue 25-Feb-20 16:43:13

Names of late relatives and nothing like my own.

logansnanny Tue 25-Feb-20 16:24:10

My last ever grandchilds name.We waited 15 years for him, well worth the wait.

M0nica Tue 25-Feb-20 16:21:34

The 'O' is in fact the numeral '0'. I was told that my name had to include a numeral, so that is how I included it.

ninathenana Tue 25-Feb-20 16:18:32

MOnica I've often wondered if the capital 'O' was deliberate so as to distinguish you, which is what I assume.
Or was it just a typo.

Juno56 Tue 25-Feb-20 16:09:57

According to DH I am a "domestic goddess" (yeah rightgrin) so naturally I chose the queen of the gods. 56 is my year of birth.

PernillaVanilla
My jaw dropped at the thought of anyone gardening in a cream cashmere sweater. Of course, one presumes her gardener was on hand to take over the task when she had gently laid her fingertips on an exquisite plant pot and the photoshoot was over grin

I'm named after a shrub or small tree which my hair resembles, although I am trying to tame it.

AGAA4 Tue 25-Feb-20 15:59:39

Mine is the initial letters of my 4 children's names.

jura2 Tue 25-Feb-20 15:58:33

mine is quite obvious ;)

mrsgreenfingers56 Tue 25-Feb-20 15:55:22

Because I love gardening and born 1956.

M0nica Tue 25-Feb-20 15:53:11

I started with another name, but someone sussed it, which meant I had to change my moniker, so I changed it to M0nica grin

Ramblingrose22 Tue 25-Feb-20 15:04:45

I wanted a floral name and a name that is similar to my first name. The ones I tried had been taken to I had to elongate it to make it unique.
Want to change it to a shorter one soon!

farview Tue 25-Feb-20 14:41:10

grannysue05 Tue 25-Feb-20 13:58:46

Made up in a hurry three years ago when I joined GN. My name plus DGC birthday date.
Wish now that I had taken the time to be more creative. hmm

Lovetopaint037 Tue 25-Feb-20 13:57:30

First thing to come to mind.

Curlywhirly Tue 25-Feb-20 13:54:08

It's not because I have curly hair - I don't, it's straight! It rhymes with part of my name ?

Mapleleaf Tue 25-Feb-20 13:45:27

I love the different leaf shapes and colours of the various Japanese maples.

Billybob4491 Tue 25-Feb-20 13:27:46

I have two nephews, one called William the other one Robert.

Snoopy66 Tue 25-Feb-20 12:53:06

I love snoopy since the 70’s and the year I was born. ?

Buffybee Tue 25-Feb-20 12:46:31

I'm named after my lovely old dog Buffy, who is now 16 and was named after Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
I sometimes call her Buffybee, Buffywuffy, Buffs, Buffers.
So basically it's my dogs nickname.

Greyduster Tue 25-Feb-20 12:46:16

It is the name of my favourite fishing fly; the first one I learned to tie, and on its first outing it caught me a beautiful wild brown trout (safely returned to the water!). I can’t see well enough, nor do my fingers work well enough, to tie anything that small now☹️.

ann678tifney Tue 25-Feb-20 12:34:18

M y name is my first and middle name, my grans maiden name, and the numbers are important to me as they are some of my children birthdates.
