I didn’t actually choose mine, I was given it by my DD

kittylester Tue 25-Feb-20 09:24:14

Mine is a childhood nickname and the name of our county's major town!! Nothing clever at all.

chocolatepudding Tue 25-Feb-20 09:27:15

I love chocolate and puddings. This name has no connection to my real name and is easy to remember

Nannylovesshopping Tue 25-Feb-20 09:28:20

Mine is because I do?

moggie57 Tue 25-Feb-20 09:29:31

because i love cats and my birth year..

Charleygirl5 Tue 25-Feb-20 09:30:17

Mine is the name of a previous cat and I added on the "girl" to show which sex I am.

pensionpat Tue 25-Feb-20 09:31:02

From my last job before retiring.

annodomini Tue 25-Feb-20 09:35:09

As I've aged along with Gransnet, mine is fairly obvious.

pollyperkins Tue 25-Feb-20 09:37:06

Mentioned in another thread, Polly Perkins is a song I remember enjoying
As a child. But I’m neither pretty nor little and don’t come from Paddington green. And no connection with my real name.

twinnytwin Tue 25-Feb-20 09:38:52

I'm a twin, simples.

aggie Tue 25-Feb-20 09:39:57

I was in agony , from an undiagnosed broken ankle bone , when I chose mine ,

paddyanne Tue 25-Feb-20 09:46:06

its what my Granny called me when I was wee

Kalu Tue 25-Feb-20 09:49:07

The first two letters of GDs names.

Urmstongran Tue 25-Feb-20 09:49:13

From where I live. Hiding in plain sight amongst 41,000 people!
?

Jane10 Tue 25-Feb-20 10:22:45

I wanted to post a response quickly and just used my name plus 10. I was thinking of Ben10 which was DGSs latest preoccupation. I might change to something more interesting one day if I ever flounce and then return in disguise as so many seem to.

ScotinOz Tue 25-Feb-20 10:29:02

I'm from Glasgow, but have lived in Australia for 29 years.

A Scot living in Oz ??

tanith Tue 25-Feb-20 10:30:38

Mine is also my favourite old cats name she’s been gone 30 yrs but it’s a little reminder.

Granniesunite Tue 25-Feb-20 10:30:54

I choose mine because I was so upset at children being used as pawns in divorces cases, killed in wars, abused, excisiting in poverty. In My dream the granny's of the world unite and

Granniesunite Tue 25-Feb-20 10:31:41

Save them all!! Sorry posted too soon.

MerylStreep Tue 25-Feb-20 10:32:06

I haven't long had this username ( been a member since 2011)
But I had a technical hitch and decided on probably my favourite actresses.

Witzend Tue 25-Feb-20 10:34:08

I was too tired or lazy to think up a new one - it was the same one I’d used for ages on a forum for carers of people with dementia. Nuff sed really.

Pantglas2 Tue 25-Feb-20 10:43:03

Grandparents home in Wales, of which there will be hundreds and consequently, probably thousands of grandchildren who could have chosen it!

Missfoodlove Tue 25-Feb-20 10:55:17

Because I do ?

Nortsat46 Tue 25-Feb-20 10:56:43

I chose mine quickly and without much thought, when I was a new member. My nephew used to call me Norts, when he was a toddler (he’s 42 now).

I wish I had been a bit more creative because I love some of the other user names on GN - QuaintIrene, Dragonfly, BlueBelle and Sark are all lovely and more artistic/interesting than Norts ...

grumppa Tue 25-Feb-20 11:03:19

Because at one time I was called (quite unfairly!) the Christmas Grump.
