Good Morning Everyone,
Its a wet start here in Brackley this morning, if forecast is right should clear for awhile before the latest storm comes in from the south west.
Last Thursday whilst waiting for the bus in Buckingham, on the bus time display it showed Heavy Snow for the area.
Will do my usual Buckingham and Bicester but get back around 2 watch some cycling this afternoon on TV ,and basically settle down for the rest of the day.

Good morning from a very wet and windy Kent.
We won't bother going anywhere in this. So no excuse to put off the admin. I will then reward myself with an hour or two of doing a jigsaw.
I hope nobody is flooded. Wishing all the best to those with troubles or ills.

Good morning from a very grey, damp Birmingham, with ominous clouds in the sky to the North- East. I’m feeling fine today after a couple of days feeling bleurgh, so I am going to do a bit of housework and food shopping, and have a walk in the park ( in my raincoat.) I will spend the evening with my partner having dinner and binge- watching a French crime story on tv.
As I’m typing this, here comes the rain!
marydoll take care, and I hope everyone with problems has a good day.

Mythbirtthedragon Sat 29-Feb-20 08:55:43

Good morning from east London, wet and wild early on, seems to have calmed a bit now but still raining. Stayed under the quilt for about half an hour in the hope DP would provide a cup of tea but gave up and made my own. He said I would have got one eventually but he’d been ‘distracted’; 38 years and still not trained. Have a good day.

Good morning from a wet, windy but mild Colchester. It got warmer overnight and is now 10° as nfk said.
Indoor stuff this morning and I'll take the opportunity to switch energy providers as our present contract is about to end....such fun!

BlueSapphire Sat 29-Feb-20 08:56:53

Good morning everyone from a very wet Northampton - when will this blessed rain stop?
Not much to do this morning, just the usual crossword. Early lunch, and then off to rugby ?, hoping for a better outcome today.
DD and her husband coming here after the match as they are going to install my new TV box. A Chinese takeaway is also planned.
Best wishes to all those feeling under the weather.

Nortsat46 Sat 29-Feb-20 08:57:38

Good morning Mick and the GM team.

A quiet day for us today, in grey, v wet east London (I cant imagine how people affected by the flooding must be feeling). It’s not cold and we have just turned the heating down a bit.

The side effects of my meds are slowly diminishing and my poor partner is recovering from a small op, which seems to have ‘knocked him for six’

We have three cats, who are bored but won’t go out in the rain, apart from ‘the necessary’, so I am currently overwhelmed by them all vying for my attention...

On line shop today, takeaway supper (I know, I know) and a film from Amazon Prime, such is the dizzying excitement of our lives...

Good wishes to Marydoll, Gillybob, Dragonfly and all who are unwell or facing challenges.
Wishing a lovely time to Dannirae and Urmston on GP duty. Looking forward to more Tails of Molly from Mommawolf.
Have a good day all - from Norts in Purr City. ???

Still raining,

Greyduster Sat 29-Feb-20 09:06:46

Good morning Michael and all GNs. It’s dry in South Yorkshire but we have obviously had more rain overnight. Nothing planned today; my DD asked if I fancied going to the cinema with her but I think I’m coming down with a cold, so I will give it a miss, sadly. She will be over tomorrow with her menfolk; I haven’t seen her this week.
Good wishes to all who are struggling. Have the best day you can.

Good morning from the NE coast where we have a damp but mild start to Saturday.

Apologies for not posting yesterday but DH had a bad night on Thursday night and we couldn’t seem to get the pain under control , which resulted in me dialling 111. A lovely community nurse turned up at 08.30 (typically when DH had finally gone off to sleep) but she changed the catheter and fast tracked a prescription for some stronger painkillers . She said that no one should be in so much pain and if it had not lessened by Sunday (someone is going to ring) then he will have to be readmitted to hospital . I did explain that the threat of being readmitted will cause him to say the pain is better even if it isn’t, which I think she understood.

Anyway following her visit I had to go to “that place” to sort a few bits out, followed by a trip to the tip as our bin got missed twice (again) and I couldn’t get another thing in it. We seem to produce more than our usual waste at the minute with all the various medical “supplies” that are being delivered.

I had booked to have my hair “done” (just a quick cut and blow) at 1pm but forgot that I had promised DD I would have little Evie for a few hours yesterday afternoon while she attended a meeting at work. Anyway my cut and blow ended up being the quickest trim in the history of hairdressing, with the hairdresser giving my dry hair a quick squirt of water, a trim and a blast all over with the dryer. I came out looking a right sight ! ?

DD came straight to mine but by the time I had made DH a bite to eat etc. it meant I didn’t get to take my dad for his usual shopping until nearly 6pm He is so slow going around the supermarket that I didn’t get back home until after 8pm......

Looking forward to doing nothing at all today . Might have a little walk to clear my head a bit later . I think I am due a walk on the beach and a bloomin’ good cry.

Sorry I missed all the posts yesterday . I do hope everyone is okay. Thoughts to those feeling poorly or miserable especially dragonfly and Marydoll .

To all those with exciting plans for the weekend I hope you have the best of times.

Thank you all for your best wishes.

Love Gillybob xx

Morning all. Seems like shares in wellyboot companies are the only things “on the up” at the moment. Good Morning posts here are prompting me to contact friends in Norfolk to ask if they’re ok. When will it end. Dry and bright here but very cold breeze. Will stay home and catch up on chores. Have an ingrowing toenail that is limiting activities...so first must give it some treatment, then painting a pretty, upcycled cabinet. For all those sad or struggling, warm wishes for a brighter Saturday! I’m making a resolution to avoid newspapers - think there’s only so much doom, fear and misery that any of us can tolerate!!

travelsafar Sat 29-Feb-20 09:11:01

Nothing good about the weather here today. Its pouring with the threat of hail later. BUt this is nothing compared to what those poor people up North are experiencing with their homes and businesses being ruined by floods. Anyone know if there is a Flood Donation being run by anyone??? I really feel for them as many have no insurance as it is too costly.

I intend popping out shortly for a few bits and a trip to Specsaver to get my new specs adjusted as they keep slipping down my nose then i will go to the library then hunker down indoors for the rest of the day. Seeing my son and DIL tomorrow morning at their beautiful new home then my sis round in the afternoon for tea.

NannyJan53 Sat 29-Feb-20 09:11:27

Good Morning from another rainy Black Country! Will it ever stop?

We are going to Birmingham tonight to see The Stereophonics at the Arena, then staying in a hotel overnight. Going on train as we have our passes. Yesterday though, I somehow lost mine on the bus! So now I will have to pay on train and Metro! I am always so careful, and put it straight back in my purse once zapped on the reader.
Worse things happen, but I am annoyed with myself.

Urmston you make me grin, but in good way. I was wondering to whom you were referring!

Yes Marydoll I have noticed NanKate missing lately, I hope she is ok.

Wishing you all a good weekend with special thoughts to Marydoll Gilly Dragonfly and Kitty

Good morning from a wet, grey, damp and miserable Market Harborough.

Sending love to the Gillybobs and all suffering in one way or another today. X

Good morning Mick and all x

The GSs woke up at 9 am, sure sign they are nearly teenagers grin

Small shop this morning, then two other AC and 4 GC are popping in (I think I will need an early night) xx

Gillybob sorry to hear your DH is still struggling with pain.

Sending good wishes to those Goodmorningers in need x

Grandmafrench Sat 29-Feb-20 09:24:30

Morning *gillybob”. I’m so sad for the time you’re having. Reckon if your DD read your post today - she’d be sad and concerned for her do-it-all Mum. Try to care for yourself and have at least some relax and regroup time. Think how it will be if you just stop coping! We all need a good cry to let go of the worry, stress and sadness. But don’t forget you’re just one person - no one can do it all - however much they care, so in all this turmoil please don’t forget you. flowers

harrigran Sat 29-Feb-20 09:28:07

Good morning from a grey but milder NE.
I have never seen a Drs surgery so empty when I went for my appointment yesterday, there was me and one other person in the waiting room.
The nurse moaned about the state of the NHS and said she had left the hospital, next door to the practice, because it was no longer safe. I often wondered but to hear someone voice my concerns is worrying.
Spent yesterday afternoon making leek and potato soup and chatting to my sister on Messenger.
Watched all of Flesh and Blood in one sitting last night with a bottle of Champagne, decadent moi ?
Thinking of the gillybobs and hoping for some improvement.

oliversnana Sat 29-Feb-20 09:35:09

Good morning from wet grey Essex. Surely this must be it for the winter??? Still on cloud 9 as baby granddaughter(and her mum) came home yesterday. She looked so content, sleeping peacefully and I managed a lovely cuddle while her brothers charged around noisily!! Taking DGS1 out today to buy new school shoes as playtime football has managed to destroy his others. We may have lunch in a cafe and then the cinema if there is anything suitable showing. Thinking of Gillybobs who needs that sunshine and anyone else with worries or troubles xxx

Feelingmyage55 Sat 29-Feb-20 09:55:10

It is very windy here in north Scotland and a very noisy night. Today my DH is taking me for lunch and then shopping for a jacket for himself!!!! This is strange behaviour indeed as he usually wears the same jacket for years until he is forced to wear a replacement of my choosing. I may well have to take a photo of this event. ?. marydoll I hope you are being served lunch in bed and feeel better soon. Steamy shower? gillybob I worry that you are so tired that you are saying yes to your family because it is in some way easier than finding the energy to say no. Please tell me that when they come round they make you a cup of tea and bring cake ..... if not, they should. I am glad the nurse was helpful. Have the best day you can everyone, even if it is staying warm and having a nice supper.

Grammaretto Sat 29-Feb-20 10:04:06

Good Morning All x
The sun has not long come out after a disgusting day yesterday. It couldn't have rained any harder if it had tried.
I wanted to go down the hill onto the prom to see the warship sailing in to Liverpool but the rain was so bad I gave it up as a bad job.

I love to see certain ships sailing in. There was a heavy helicopter flying overhead as I saw it a couple of times hovering over the monster warship. There were the usual crowds at Liverpool as was reported.

This was in between my attempt at cleaning the kitchen. Then in the afternoon I got a phone-call from one of the teachers of my GGC's school to pick him up but she wanted my D instead and had phoned me by mistake.

Apparently the school had to be in lockdown/ lights out because of a nearby incident and all the children were guided to the town hall eventually. Some idiot was about brandishing a knife and had broken into a house near the school. It's a primary school so some littlies there too.

Panic over and the idiot was finally arrested. He was making threats but there was a heavy police presence and they were relaying orders to the school as to their next move in keeping the children safe. Parents were there helping too.

You never know the minute ! Very worrying when you have 300 odd children to herd. Well done to the staff and services.

A bit of local shopping to do ( have just finished soaking my feet---heaven ) Feet are so important and should be taken care of---they serve us well smile I'll get finished before this other spell of bad weather---there's no end to it.

That poor man of Gillybob's, so much pain for so many months and now the discomfort of the catheter. It's as though he's been forgotten about----heartbreaking xx

Marydoll I hope you're going to take things easy this weekend ( just as if )
Hope Dragonfly isn't feeling too bad during her ordeal and anyone else suffering or who are worried. Have as best a day that you can.
