Good Morning Everyone,
Its a wet start here in Brackley this morning, if forecast is right should clear for awhile before the latest storm comes in from the south west.
Last Thursday whilst waiting for the bus in Buckingham, on the bus time display it showed Heavy Snow for the area.
Will do my usual Buckingham and Bicester but get back around 2 watch some cycling this afternoon on TV ,and basically settle down for the rest of the day.
Mick

Good morning Mick and all to follow from a wer South Manchester. The sky is slate grey. Storm Joules was named by the Spanish yesterday. I did wonder at first why we had jumped to ‘J’ from ‘D’!

I’m tagging along with my daughter this morning while she takes our 3y granddaughter to her first ever paid activity class. It’s called ‘Teddy Dance’ and is run by a local dance teacher in the community hall. Of course I’ve bought the child a small, new cute teddy as her dance companion!

Writing and putting stamps on half a dozen or more birthday cards this afternoon. They are all for birthdays in March and we will be in Spain so he kindly posts them for me during the time I’m away.
?

We’re babysitting tonight while daughter and son in law go out for drinks and a meal. They’re not daft - we are asked to go over ‘about 4pm’ and do the teatime, bath and bed malarkey! That said, they come home around 9pm. Late nights and children don’t mix do they?

Hope wet Saturday is good to us all whether we have any plans or none. x

Good morning Mick and all who follow.

I’m back in Malta after a late evening flight from Rome. We were ‘checked’ as we came in i.e. told to look into a camera and then waved on if we were not showing signs of a fever.

Yesterday, we managed to climb to the top of St. Peter’s cupola which was a bit more of an undertaking than we had imagined. Well worth it, though. I’ve wanted to do it for years but there has always been a huge queue in the past, so never got around to it until now.

Thought of you, Marydoll, as I know you love Rome, as do I. My DH and I had some lovely times there and it is quite hard going there without him. So many memories.

Managed to get some plasters for my blistered foot which helped a lot. My FitBit doesn’t know what has hit it this week!

Have to collect my dear dog from kennels this morning, plus a bit of laundry.

Hoping you all have a good day, special thoughts to gilly and all who have too much on their plate. sunshine

Darn it - who’s ‘he’? My stepfather. Ought to have previewed but the kettle was boiling m’lud!

Morning Mick, morning All from a wet and windy corner of Somerset. Not sure how today will unfold. May get on with some clearing out as there’s little incentive to be outside. Special thoughts for those with health issues or other worries and a hope that Saturday is kind to everyone.

Good Morning from a wet Severnside.

I need to do some housework and I might do it ? this morning. This afternoon I will pop by a friend to drop something off.

I’m heartily fed up of this dreary weather so if your case feels a bit heavy Urmston it’s because I’ve climbed inside.

I hope you all have the best day you can ?

Beechnut Sat 29-Feb-20 07:15:18

Happy Birthday to anyone who can celebrate on their true day ??

Good morning Mick and good morning all. Saturday in our static in West Wittering near Chichester is very wet and very windy this morning. We came down here late yesterday afternoon from our home in Kent and along the way many fields were flooded and streams swollen, that said, my heart goes out to those affected by the flooding around the country as they must wake up to weather like this and wonder when will they ever get back on their feet.

Good morning Mick and everyone. It was coming daylight at 6.00 this morning here in north Cheshire, which was pleasant, but the rain was once more battering on the skylights. I too had wondered how we leapt from storm Denis to Jorge! There's a blackbird singing loudly out there and the rooks are kicking up over in the woods.

Not sure whether I'll walk in the woods this morning if it's stormy. I'm meeting friends at a garden centre for lunch as my DD sent me a beautiful camellia and I have to buy a suitable pot and soil.

Enjoy your trip Mick. Wishing all a good day whatever you may have planned. Special warm wishes to Gilly, Dragonfly* Marydoll and all who are coping with illness and troubles. flowers

Good morning everyone from a very wet and windy Essex by the sea.
We are off to London, on the train, to The Design Centre, for a visit to The Stitch Show. Looking forward to seeing how patchwork should really be done !!
Hopefully we will have a meal before coming home.
Have a pleasant day everyone and stay safe in the stormy weather.

Good morning from a very wet Cheshire. Noticed it was much lighter this morning when I got up to feed the hungry hound. Am now back in bed with a cuppa and the dog is curled up fast asleep again, how do they do it - she can be snoring within 30 seconds of lying down! Quiet day, apart from dog walking. Mommawolf the puppy looks adorable; how do you keep your hands off it? Brought back memories when you said that it will try to run with the other two dogs, but will get tired - I can remember when our dog was about 12 weeks old, we walked around the corner to a friends house so she could play with their two dogs. When we tried to walk her back, she just sat down on the pavement exhausted and we had to carry her back! Happy days. Off out tonight to our favourite French restaurant, the food is amazing and you have to book well in advance as it is so popular. Here's hoping Marydoll, Dragonfly and the Gillybobs have a better day today. Have a good weekend everyone.

Morning all from a soggy North Leicestershire. I am still thankful to see rain outside and not inside!!

Today we need to clear the lounge ready for the decorator which is going to be more difficult since I've developed tendonitis in my wrist.

Pantglas2 Sat 29-Feb-20 07:55:45

Morning everyone from a dry and calm north Wales- not sure it’s going to last!

I had a brilliant day yesterday clearing out some kitchen cupboards and I’ve got three bagfuls for the charity shop - if you saw the size of my kitchen you’d wonder where everything went - I’ve still got plenty of pots & pans left to see us out! Felt quite uplifted cooking dinner!

Out for a curry sleepover with an old friend tonight, leaving the invalid who says he can cope home alone......I’ll be back in the morning to make a full Monty!

Enjoy your extra day and the weekend folks x

Good Morning everyone from a wet South East London. Apparently this has been the 2nd wettest February since records began! I hope to walk the dog in the park this morning if it stops raining.
Mr R and I are going to babysit our darling grandson tonight for the first time.
Have a good day one and all smile

Brunette10 Sat 29-Feb-20 08:07:40

Morning from a wet Fife and cold to go with it. DGS1 yesterday was very poorly so it was quite a lengthy day but he was very good, lay on settee most of day. Hate to see wee ones ill like this. Hoping he is better today. We have no plans just in case we are 'needed'. Everyone so far seems to be quite busy today so enjoy your day if you can. Take care all.

NfkDumpling Sat 29-Feb-20 08:08:14

Morning All

Grey and breezy here in the north end of Norfolk. I had foolishly thought I might hang some washing out today since the forecast said the latest storm will pass to the north of us - but I fear the sheets won’t stay in my garden let alone stay on the line.

Hopefully this will be the last storm of the winter and spring will blossom and all those who are suffering will blossom with it and we’ll have a wonderful summer. smile

NfkDumpling Sat 29-Feb-20 08:09:10

(The outside thermometer says 10C. Is that a good sign?)

Alygran Sat 29-Feb-20 08:11:19

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s stopped raining for a while.
Lovely meet up with other Grans in York yesterday followed by a very successful quizzing evening for Cancer Research.
After a few very busy days I am having a quiet one today. Popping out for some groceries then book, tv and knitting is on the cards.
Hope today is kind to everyone especially those who are unwell or struggling.

BlueBelle Sat 29-Feb-20 08:15:28

Good morning everyone from a very very wet grey and windy day totally horrible and really quite dispiriting going on so long
I m having an Indian Head massage this morning a present left from Christmas After that not much trying to sort the house out.... the ‘stuff’ ....that’s an ongoing thing for wet days although because my house is cold apart from the two main rooms I only do small amounts at a time but I ll get there

Marydoll Sat 29-Feb-20 08:16:08

Good morning Mick and all from Glasgow, it's only 3 degrees here.

Nicolaed are you new, I've not noticed you posting before?
Welcome to our happy band.

It looks like a day in bed for me, I have picked up DGD's cold, am now running a temp, totally lost my voice ( DH is delighted) and of course it's gone straight to my chest. I will have to binge on James Martin this morning, what hardship!?

Bellasnanna, I'm so envious of you. I have so many wonderful memories of Rome. I think this year will be our last visit.?
I once was escorted down from the cupola through secret doors, by one of the suits, you know the men in the sharp suits, with the hidden guns.
DH and DD were at the top, but I was in so much pain, I couldn't make it. Of course, it's a one way system, so the only way down, is to go to the top first.
That's a novella for another day. What an adventure! ?. DH was absolutely mortified, I loved every minute of it.?

Kitty, I hope you are not in too much pain. You need to rest your hand, heat or ice is recommended. I used to wrap a heat bag around my wrist.

Urmonstogran, we did the same last night for our lot last night. Unsurprisingly, DD and DIL missed the train and were forced to go for cocktails in Grand Central champagne bar in the station. Who are they trying to kid? ?

Has anyone noticed that NanKate, hasn't been posting? I must check-in with her and see that all is well.

Hugs for all those struggling, especially my pals in the sick bay, have the best day you can.

Mommawolf Sat 29-Feb-20 08:25:09

Goodmorning all norfolk is rocking and rolling this morning lots of rain overnight. The new drainage worked so no paddling alpacas this time. Molly is into everything which is a good sign, she discovered the joys of wellie chewing yesterday luckily an old pair the taste of rubber was a new experience for her. Time to break out the shoe crate which hopefully she won't be able to open. Thinking of all who are unwell and struggling. Keep warm. Have a good day everyone.

Gingster Sat 29-Feb-20 08:28:16

Good morning all from a dreary Essex. Our ramble yesterday was understandably cancelled. Everything seems to be getting cancelled at the moment ?. This weather stops us from doing the things we love. A cosy day in today with DD and grandchildren coming for lunch. DH and DS usually go to a footie match on Saturday afternoons but I think it will be called off. A day of arts and crafts with the kiddies and maybe a film that suits us all.

Nanabanana1 Sat 29-Feb-20 08:28:18

Good morning everyone from a bright and breezy Torbay, thankfully the rain has stopped for now. Grandchildren with me this weekend so they will keep me busy, got to hunt out a pencil case so a visit to Paignton on the cards and to grandsons favourite, Seaside chips on the Pier.
Best wishes to all and I hope the day is good for everyone.

Lins1066 Sat 29-Feb-20 08:38:23

Good Morning Mick and everyone.
It it the calm before the storm here on the S Welsh coast. Storm Jorge's relentless rain yesterday and overnight has stopped, now there is a Yellow Met Office warning for wind from midday.
Not planning to go out. Yesterday the NT property where DH is a volunteer was evacuated due to the rain. He had a tricky drive home.
Hope you feel better soon Mary ( I like James Martin too) best wishes to all coping with illness and worries.
