Good afternoon!
Lovely day here but just been trying to get my robot mower to work. Not really got the strength. Ironically it worked first time but after the gardener was here it stopped!

Lovely baby Callgirl and a beautiful name.

Managed to get a delivery from Sainsbury on Saturday and booked another one from Ocado for next Tuesday. These are desperate times. I cannot get paracetamol or handwash which I will need on Friday. I do have Ibuprofen but apparently that is dangerous if you have the virus. Or so I have read on GN.

I was thinking of Izabella's f* bucket and wondering whether we might make use of it here in the kitchen. We're all in this bloody awful situation together. So, whenever we feel like a rant, let's have one and then deposit it in the f* bucket where it will virtually disappear into the ether.

I dropped a letter into the surgery today Callgirl and in the foyer was a huge sign that said ' STOP! If you don't NEED to be here , go home and call us ' ! I hurled my letter in from a 2 metre distance and sprinted for the door ;-)

I don't think I could pick a toad up with my bare hands Sparkle but the little boys do love one. It made me chuckle when we took them down last year in their reflective vests and a bucket and shovel to help them cross the road.

It was a bright start to the day today and we nipped to the Hen House to collect eggs - its nice and easy as you never meet other people there . Then we did go to Lidl. You can tell the difference as it was much busier than normal at 9am on a Monday morning. But the shelves were well stocked. We even got 2 tins of baked beans and some paracetamol for one of our daughters who cant get them anywhere.

So , I am off to my final Knit and Natter tomorrow then we are shutting down for the duration. We have set up an online page to chat and motivate each other so that's something.

It dawned on me today we are in for a marathon not a sprint !! So I bought a jam doughnut and now I feel much better :-)

Thanks Carillion, the actual tooth is not so bad, so I have put off visiting the dentist, but now I have a sore mouth and don't know whether to consult the GP or the dentist. I'm going to treat it with salt rinses and see if that helps.
Not even through with the first week of isolation. One good thing - I can slob around in fleece top and joggers and no-one will notice; but on the other hand, there's nothing to get up for in the morning which is just as well since I didn't wake up until 9.15 today.
Family are very good at ringing and texting to check up on me but I hate the thought of not seeing them for months. DGD1 looked as if she might get stuck in Morocco but the latest news is that she is on her way home. DS1 may be going to Barbados with latest GF, but only if the airline can assure them that they can get back in a week or two. As far as I know none of the rest are planning any globe-trotting. Sister and BiL lost their Spanish holiday when Jet2 stopped all flights - at least they weren't on one of the aircraft that had to turn round mid-flight.
dizzy - thank you for your news from the front line. It's good of you to take the time to up-date us on what is really happening.
It's a bright, typical March day here and I should be out in the garden. I can see bubbles drifting past the window - my neighbours' daughter has a bubble machine. What fun!

Cassie and I are sleeping downstairs again as I think bed upstairs was making my back more painful. No more high jinks for her going onto the roof via Velux windows and entertaining my neighbours.

Trying to catch up today because France's new 'measures' have kicked in today and don't really know how we'll be affected and might be engaged elsewhere.

Not going to panic shop, that's for certain ... but need to check if DH's physio sessions will continue as originally planned. If all's well he'll have session 6/15 today. Think that's right. Not sure... Think I'm getting a bit tired, not good enough, many other dear kitcheners have so much to contend with.

I received vile abuse because I decided to question an amateur epidemiologist who was telling online, downright lies. She was saying anybody over 70 with the virus would die. I could not let that rubbish go but that is the last time I intervene because of the replies. I did not want to reveal my professional background so I left it.

Come back Brexit, all is forgiven.

Good morning, from a beautifully sunny Surrey. I have spent the weekend very busy after being recruited to man the phones in 111 as they needed experienced clinicians to deal with the corona influx. You’ll all be pleased to hear that although I spoke to 300+ people who almost certainly have the virus, only one needed an emergency ambulance. Many are already recovering after a week of symptoms and the rest have something that appears to be no worse, and mostly a lot better, than ordinary flu. The 999 service was no busier than usual although calls were taking longer due to the need to don protective equipment for all respiratory calls.
Love and prayers to all those struggling today, for whatever reason.

Aw, how can anyone not like toads and frogs? I`ve been known to pick them up from the middle of the road and deposit them safely on the grass. I love Grampy`s caption!
Our doctors surgery has closed to patients. The procedure now is to ring up and speak to a clinician who will decide if you can go to the surgery, and if so will admit via the back door.
If I have to self isolate, what about the carers who come twice daily to my daughter, they are needed?

Not a big toad fan Sparkle? We see a lot here and in fact have toad crossing patrols at certain times of the year.

Sorry to hear Mr Chicken is being recalcitrant !! Do you want to borrow the frozen leg of lamb chicken ?? I do think older men have difficulty being told what to do and fear does play a part in their actions. I hope he does listen to the sense of reason x

Charley No, it's the next time they can deliver an online order. They are overwhelmed methinks.

My dentist has posted up a short questionnaire on his website which the receptionist will be asking all patients as soon as they arrive, which makes sense. It also lists all the hygiene measures they will be taking at the practice. I have to go there on Wednesday to collect a dental guard to stop me grinding. It needs to be fitted but hopefully I can be in and out quickly. Good luck to anybody seeing the dentist this coming week.

The kitcheners are all so lovely, such genuine concern and warm wishes. Soop and Carillion I don't have an alarm or alert system but I do have a 6ft+ WP (wonderful partner) who is always nearby and knows exactly what to do; I have on oral "reviver" medication he has had to use many times. It's always harder on him than it is on me when I have a seizure as I, of course, don't know it's happening and he has to witness each one. My epilepsy is so bad and so complicated that in the end he gave up work to take care of me. I truly picked the best ? in the orchard when I met him.
Charleygirl, what a considerate post. Sadly ☹️ I'm a bit of a hopeless case I'm afraid. I have left temporal lobe epilepsy due to a congenital issue. My former consultant was brilliant and sent me for all the investigations to see whether I was a suitable candidate for brain surgery but I am not. In the past I have had several medications, all failed and all had very bad side effects. The medication I am on now is the only one I can be on and gives me the best control I can ever hope to have. What is it they say, 'life's a b...h and then you die'. According to the experts I shouldn't have survived beyond the age of 14 but I'm still here .
Namsnanny, I am often a 'naughty girl' but some of that naughtiness is a secret .

Hi all, it's lovely and warm here in the kitchen today. I've just made beef bouginion for DH's birthday tea tomorrow. Also made a walnut cake for his birthday cake and some cheese trees for my gran daughter. Just going to have a lovely cup of tea then make lemon chicken for tonight's tea. I feel worn out and hope DH puts as much effort in for my birthday! Have a lovely evening.

annsixty we were so fortunate that Mr. S. had his op just over 2 weeks ago otherwise we'd have been like you, wondering if it was going to be cancelled. Keeping my fingers crossed that yours wont be.

Mr. S.and I went out for lunch today and spent some time being nosy by looking at some new builds. Not thinking of moving, just like to see what they're like, how much they cost and then come home and remind ourselves how lucky we are.

I haven't posted for ,,a while because (a) I've been so busy organising as many of my future purchases as possible to be delivered, and (b) because I'm consumed with worry over OH. He's always been stubborn, pigheaded even, but right now he's being absolutely impossible. Having been told about needing to isolate for up to four months he is insisting that he'll carry on as normal, that it's all a load of rubbish and that no one is going to stop him going out when he wants to. We are both 83, so very much in the vulnerable group, and of course if he brings the virus home , he'll be putting everyone else in the house at risk and I've no wish to die just yet. I've argued and begged and pleaded and reasoned but to no avail, so there's a black cloud of gloom hanging over the chicken-house right now. Sorry for sounding so negative and self absorbed at the moment but it's all consuming.

I've read all your posts, but just haven't the energy to reply individually,so I'll just wish everyone peace and say TOYA.
