So sorry to hear your surgery might be delayed Ann , have they got your pain under control yet? If not maybe you need to push them a little in that direction so its at least bearable .

Sorry to hear about your toothache Anno not much worse than toothache I think. Grampy and I both have dental check-ups tomorrow but I think I will cancel as it seems foolish to sit in a chair being breathed on for 15 mins for no good reason. ( That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it !!).

Its dawning on me today that this whole Coronavirus mess will stretch on into the later part of the year. I am resigned to saying goodbye to our up and coming holiday but there seems to be little cheer to look forward to. We might have to throw a kitchen party :-)

Cherrycezzy I appreciate how difficult it is to get a GP appointment at present but it appears to me that your medication needs to be reviewed and if necessary get an appointment to see a neurologist. You are it would appear suffering from nocturnal grand mal epilepsy- it has a smarter title now and although not curable it is treatable with drugs. Please, we do care!

I've had further long phone calls from sons this afternoon. I was ironing at the time. Hearing their voices helped to cheer me greatly.

I do not wish to pedal my exercise bike. Instead, I shall put feet up, read the papers and sup . After which, a little later, I shall enjoy watching Last Tango with a medicinal wee dram.

TOYA and hoping that as the days pass we shall all feel a good deal brighter and less stressed.

CherryCezzy I am worried about the seizures you're having. Do you have an emergency button to use to call for help if you need it? x

Tanith are you feeling any better? I find my spirits have lifted a little now that it's stopped b****y raining at last!!!

Charleygirl I plan to go to my local Sainsbury's at 8am on Tuesday morning, wearing mask, gloves and glasses (would wear full hazmat if I had it )as there are no delivery slots.

People locally have offered to shop for anyone who is stuck, but I am thinking this might be the last time I can get out, and may need their help in the future.

Wish we would adopt what they are apparently doing in Scandinavia (according to FB) which is closing the supermarkets for all but the over 70s for 2 hours every morning so that we can shop safely.

callgirl I also take a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday slot. My first available slot is the 31st of this month. Has anybody in higher authority worked out what is going to happen to us because Morrisons is out of stock of basics like milk and that includes cat litter and litter tray linings?

Will the over 70's who do online shopping be top of the queue? Tara is now sorted out with her prescription food- I hope she appreciates I have had to pay more than usual for it but she is now sorted for at least 4 months.

I may be at my local Waitrose when they open in two days time because I discovered that is when the next delivery arrives.

I have had enough and it has barely started.

I went to Aldi last night night and bought up 50% of their loo roll stock.I bought 1 pack and left the other pack on the shelf!
I'm worried about what will happen if I self isolate as I have no friends close by who aren't in the under 70 age group.
I had a lovely email from Jeremy Corbyn,to all Labour Party members, asking us to look after vulnerable members of our community,volunteer to help where possible.I was thinking of where I could be of use when I realised I'm probably one of the vulnerable and then thought that Jezza is too!

annsixty You have waited so long for the surgery. It is highly likely that you have to be patient for however long it takes. The not knowing is distressing. If you were admitted for surgery and picked up this bloody virus, you would be in a far worse place. Try to keep strong.

CharleyG, Grace hadn`t met Mia yet, and is unlikely to as, at the first hint of a child, Mia goes into hiding, doesn`t re-appear till said child is no longer in the vicinity!
I usually place my online Tesco order on a Monday night for Wednesdasy morning delivery. Decided to do it this morning to be on the safe side, earliest delivery slot Friday 10am, which will cost me an extra £7 for delivery, as my paid delivery plan with them only covers Tues, Weds and Thurs deliveries. If we do have to self isolate for 4 months, how do we get food in if all delivery slots are taken? Does self isolation include all in the house?I ask because my granddaughter and disabled daughter also live here.

DD rang from the supermarket to say that there was no baby formula on the shelves, so I am now beside myself with worry that my little 10 week GC is going to be hungry soon. Mr.GG has volunteered to go out tomorrow to locate some.

My chest is no better than yesterday but no worse which is good.

Welcome back mbmb. I like keeping in touch over the landline phone. Sons do not call every week. Sometimes there is a long lull between calls. But, when they do contact us, we have the most fulsome updates regarding every other member of their immediate family. Eldest son's calls have been known to last 45 mins. We laugh a lot. Every moment is precious. I expect that, if we're asked to self isolate for several weeks... those phone calls will become top priority.

I have missed a whole day of the kitchen. Yesterday I was hit by really acute toothache. This always happens at weekends but it's even more inopportune at a time when I'm supposed to keep myself to myself. However, tomorrow I will throw myself on the mercy of my very nice dentist and hope to get an emergency appointment. His surgery is likely to be the most sterile place imaginable!
I've been skipping through the last couple of days - gorgeous babies and grandchildren, lovely dogs. I am quite envious. I won't now see my GC till the summer at earliest. Spoke to one of the GSs on the phone and his school sounds like a hotbed of infection, though they do have hand sanitizer in the canteen. Senior GD is in Morocco this weekend and I hope they make it back before all flights are stopped. My nephew's 8-month-old twins are a joy to see in photographs and videos - by the time I can see them again they will be walking, if not running around! My younger GD is volunteering with the RVS in a local hospital as well as working on A-levels (for next year) and coaching candidates for DofE silver award. Now she is campaigning to be Head Girl. Watch this space! The younger GSs had tennis, football and rugby this weekend but I fear even those will go by the board in the coming weeks. Poor kids - and their parents. My DiL who is manager of a large supermarket, has had a very hard time indeed in the past week - as you can imagine; DS2 has trialled working from home which seems to have been successful and DS1 may have to cancel his holiday in Bermuda as all transatlantic flights may soon be cancelled.

Good morning from a grey, drippy Shire. Our stunning copper beach is totally bewildered and knows not whether to burst forth or keep a watchful eye on things. However, hellebore and daffodils continue to brighten our days.

I have to say I have fallen in love!! Those amazing pictures of Hattie, she is a stunner.

As for the rest of the kitchen I am nonplussed and a tad concerned. Outed grans, upright peckers and earthmoving activities, not to mention a dearth of Dijon!!!! What is happening? It is still a safe haven for us?

'Al' seems to be taking the day off today so I am getting things done while I have a semblance of orderliness of thought. I am thinking of resuming my affair with JS (Bach) and possibly a little with Ludwig on the keyboard after coffee. We shall see if fingers and brain pay some sort of respect to their composing talent. Interestingly JS's works seem to have a taken on differing meanings within the stanzas since 'Al' came along, and the music seems to fit whatever my mood depending on how I massacre play it.

It’s good to know I’m not alone, took myself off for a long walk and feeling better for it, wind was strong but I only met one man on a scooter his dog energetically pulling him along.
No one else about apart from the birds enjoying the blustery wind.
