So very sad morethan. Sending you love and hugs
Mandelson failed security vetting. Starmer says he didn’t know
Here we are again...happy as can be...all good friens and jolly good company.
and (hugs) a plenty.
So very sad morethan. Sending you love and hugs
Yes, be proud of them morethan, be proud of yourself too. Sending love to you all.
I am in tears reading your desperately sad post morethan ? I don't know what to say that will be of any help but I will pray for you all.
morethan … Out of the mouths of babes.
You paint such a clear picture of them. Coping so well under the circumstances.
Yes be proud.
morethan. That has made me cry for you all but what love shines through the pain.
you have me in tears too. What wonderful children, but what a hard, hard lesson for them
My granddaughters had to help me give their mum a bath tonight. I’m nervous using the bathing chair. They were marvellous. When we’d finished and all three of us guided her into the bedroom she sat on the bed and wept. The girls sat beside saying “mummy don’t cry what’s wrong? .” She told them “you shouldn’t be seeing or doing this” they kept saying over and over “it’s ok we don’t mind” she said “I’m a useless mum” they both held her in their arms one wiping her tears and kissing her cheek saying “no your not, your the best mummy in the world, look at all you’ve been through you can still kiss and cuddle us, you can talk to us and tell us off”
I had to leave the room. Looking back I could see her two little girls either side of her, holding her tight as they all cried. I’m sad but so proud of all three.
Thank you all for the uncritical welcome back - and no recriminations.
As the great Oscar Wilde, I think said, I can resist anything except temptation! ????
Hugs to all who need it, I cannot begin to imagine your private hell Morethan but I do feel for you
I`m not a gardener, so not really understanding all the ire about wildlife invading and damaging gardens. I suppose it must be heartbreaking to have your hard work ruined, but I`d love wildlife around here. The last time we lived in a house with a garden, it was a complete wilderness/jungle, we could have done with some invading wildlife to chop it down a bit!
Smiles I confess that I actually feel murderous towards the badgers!
They come under cover of darkness so you don't see them very well if at all but you are welcome to come and kidnap them on a 'no returns' basis!
Don't know where the times gone today; thought I'd pop into the kitchen before going to choir practice.
How lovely having red deer where you are Baggs they're beautiful aren't they. Can't help but feel a little
.
Thinking of you seeing your d.i.l. this evening morethan.
That'll be a short stay annsixty. As you say they don't keep you in long, not like they used too. I was surprised how soon Mr. S. was discharged but there's a lot to be said for recuperating in your own home. I hope you'll have someone there to look after you.
Oh poor you silverlining you've been proper poorly haven't you. Glad you're feeling a bit better now.
Good news about your DH's prosthetics review Synonymous. I can understand your frustration with the damage the badgers are doing; it must be lovely to see them though. A shame you can't make it badger proof.
Showers and
here too soop. Saw one of the brightest rainbows I've ever seen when I took the dogs out.
Well better get going to choir. Have a good evening everyone.
PS I'll bring extra treats in tomorrow to make up for today.
That`s him Corner, thank you! I loved his voice, but thought his choice of songs was terrible. I`m so jealous that you got Luke Evans, he`s lovely!
morethan Happy TKmax-ing. I hope that something catches your eye and returns home with you to grace your new sea breeze kitchen. It sounds well worth the twenty year wait.
Sun is shining. The rain has bucketed down. Hey ho...
Log off time until I return to chat with you tomorrow. I am thinking of you all as I wish you farewell.

Synonymous Yet another step forward . A group hug for Mr Syn from us lot.
We have been up to the big smoke for a prosthetics review for Himself and so we have had a slow start to the day today. Pleased to report that all is progressing well and there is a possibility of a shower leg being made available although only after the beginning of April since the money isn't available until the new financial year begins. Really pleased that it is on the horizon anyway as it will be much safer.
Too much going on in the kitchen for my brain to manage atm so will just sat TOYA!
I hardly know where to start. It appears that there is an enormous back-log of comings and goings in our kitchen. I'm not complaining. I'm delighted. It's just that we've been oot and aboot and now that I'm home again, I feel duty bound to do stuff aroond the hoos. Not that I want or need to. It's a "thing" that I've inherited from my Nana and Mother.
Maw Thank goodness you've returned to the fold. You have been missed.
annsisty All good vibes travelling to you from a blustery Kintyre.
silverlining48 You have been proper poorly. Please be kind to yourself and take things gently.
callgirl! We said hello to David. The seascape is spectacular around Muasdale bay.
Baggs We have a number of deer that visit as far as our back fence. From time to time, one may leap over and trim the lawn for us. Every little assistance in the garden helps. I cannot recall any damage being done. Otherwise whenever damage occurs it's due to a battalion of moles.
morethan to watch a family member fade away is akin to torture. If Sharing your sorrow here amongst your kitchen friends please continue to do so our hearts are large, our shoulders broad and we have good listening ears
We are on Grandparent duty I took the five month old out for a walk in the prom, they are now soundo in the lobby.
DD who has caught her five year olds cold is asleep on the sofa and the 9 week old GC is also asleep! So instead of catching up with jobs I am drinking a latte and browsing GN.
Managed to get some paracetamol in our local independent pharmacy, they have been moved to behind the counter though.
Thinking of all our lovely kitcheners with buggerations
We have badgers ruining our garden. Huge holes are being dug under fruit trees and in grass and borders with bulbs and plants being dug out and bitten to pieces even if not eaten. Smokie is beside himself dashing from window to window after dusk when they come out and we have to make sure to get him indoors before they arrive. All the damage is very disheartening and I have not found any answers from any so called experts anywhere!
silverlining you sound as if you've been " proper poorly". Hope you're fully recovered soon. I'm glad you didn't breathe over us here in the kitchen!
ann all best wishes for your op. on the 27th. My very good friend has had both hips done and is fully mobile and pain free.
Baggs we've had rabbit damage like that but never seen deer do it. There's a family of four deer around here. They were browsing just feet from the house last weekend. They are beautiful but cause havoc in the veg. garden----they ate most of my sweetcorn last year and all the runner beans and strawberries the previous year. There's fencing all round but, boy, can they jump.
Hello everyone. I have been indoors ( in bed mostly) fir nearly 2 weeks, sore throat and cough trying not to think about CV. I am in the right age group but am fairly ok health wise.
No fever and breathing difficulties keep from over worrying and yesterday as weather was fairly bright got up and we went off down to the Kent coast for a day out, a good walk and fishy lunch and more walk. Love the seaside and it did me a power of good just getting out in the fresh air. We even got 4 toilet rolls in the new Aldi, but no hand wash or paracetamol, just empty shelves, but loo roll aplenty. Why this focus on loo rolls anyway? I am happy with 2 packets under the stairs. Even with my tummy that should suffice.
Physio later today at the local hospital, which is to try to build up strength and avoid a knee replacement. Having seen a live knee replacement operation on tv a while ago I would like to avoid if I can.
Wishing you all a good day today, whatever you do and wherever you are. morethan thinking of you.
annsixty...sorry, meant your procedure on 27th, not this Friday
annsixty, would very much like to echo what you posted above to morethan.
Hope your procedure goes well this Friday, soon be home safe and sound. X
Your misery is not that at all morethan it is someone going through the very worst of times possible and venting to all her friends in the kitchen ,so as not to distress her family any further.
You know you can come on everyday if it helps.
Yes I am having a THR ,hopefully on the 27th of this month.
It is long overdue now but like my knee has suddenly deteriorated.
To someone upthread who asked , I should be in on Friday lunchtime and out on Monday morning, they don’t mess about these days!!
morethan, yes we're pretty rural. We're not even on a street, just a dirt track. There is an ancient roe deer path right through our garden, which they think is theirs. They even eat stuff right next to the house if I don't protect with chicken wire. This is the main reason I've mostly "gone wild" as far as the garden is concerned.
Seeing red deer here is less common but friends have had two of their cars 'totalled' by red deer suddenly running out into the road in front of them.
Boilers on the blink? Good job it’s not too cold. It’s a bit grey and miserable here in Kent with a bit of a breeze. I’m going to TKmax for nothing in particular. Might pick up something for my new sea breeze kitchen. (I know I keep mentioning it but I waited over 20 years!) It’s like an upmarket jumble sale and I get some kind of perverse pleasure from going. I don’t always have time to follow all your coming and goings but I gather annsixty is off to hospital so I’m sending best wishes to her this morning. Being a city girl I don’t know anything about red deer Baggs do you live somewhere really rural? I hope you all have a reasonably good day. I’m not seeing DiL until this evening. So for now I’m not posting my usual misery.
