It was Shaun Escoffery callgirl, also part of the Lion King portion of the show. There was one song with someone called Luke Evans, from Cardiff and very popular with the Welsh folk in the audience. I hadn’t heard of him blush but enjoyed his participation. I think he was a one off because of the location.

Wow, those deer have been busy baggs. Wishing you well with the planners n&g, there’s a similar issue for our daughter in law, very stressful that’s for sure. We ran a successful campaign to stop a mobile phone mast installation near our last home, didn’t enjoy the waiting for outcome one little bit.

I’m supposed to be making a large pot of chilli, guess I should if we want to eat today.

Morning, folks! Just posting some pics of chewed holly tree. Red deer innit. First time this has happened in the sixteen years we've been here though so I reckon there's a shortage of something red deer need to eat.

Morning all!

From WARM norfolk! It may not last but once again our boiler is fixed with hope and duct tape I suspect !

Glad to hear your pre op went wellAnn . How long will you be missing from the kitchen?

Welcome back Maw! Nice try ??

It’s a waiting game now Callgirl . We had the consultation and the planners seemed unphased by the new proposal. The town Council support our view it’s not a good idea but now we must wait to see what the County Council say . So for now we just try and enjoy it as much as we can . This mornings visitor was a gorgeous male pheasant who stopped to ‘chat’ with the resident metal one in the garden lol

We are off to Slimming this morning - I wonder if it will be cancelled if we go into the next phase of the Coronavirus ??( I can live and hope) .

Happy day all!

callgirl1 Mon 09-Mar-20 23:34:41

Corner, was there a supporting singer when you saw the show? I`ve been wracking my brain trying to remember the name of the male singer who opened the show!
Maw, good to see that we won over Lent, lol!
Ann, the op is getting nearer now, hopefully you will soon be pain free.
N&G, any more news regarding the proposed building on your view?

Doodle Mon 09-Mar-20 21:18:45

Lins so glad you got to see your little dog. Sounds as though she was pleased to see you too ?
carillion that cross stitch is really lovely. I used to enjoy doing cross stitch too till my eyesight couldn’t cope. It’s a lovely piece.
morethan, yes caring for our families and helping out where we can is what we all do but you have been coping with so much more. Hope you can relax a bit on your ‘day off’ flowers
ann pleased to hear you’ve had your pre op. Means the procedure should go ahead soon.
On the norty step again maw? I’ll make you a comfy quilted cushion to sit on ?
Hello all our lovely newcomers. Thank you for all the delicious goodies (my diet isn’t going well ?). Hope you are ok soop
N&G hope you get warm soon. Is that why you crocheted a toilet roll? To keep your undercarriage warm on the loo blush
TOYA?

Charleygirl5 Mon 09-Mar-20 21:11:14

Smileless I personally would love the dogs and they would have a special place on my bed at night but Tara would be less than impressed, she would be downright jealous and I would fear for their safety.

Smileless2012 Mon 09-Mar-20 20:50:47

Just going to settle down and watch 'Play Misty for Me'. Does anyone remember it? A young and very dishy Clint Eastwood. I watched it for the first time with my mum and it really made me jump.

CherryCezzy Mon 09-Mar-20 20:47:06

I posted too soon (and before posting the rest of this I got distracted) To continue ....it made us laugh all the more. Laughter can take over at the most curious of times. All I could do was give her a non verbal "think I'd better leave", it was the only way I could compose myself!

That cross stitch is truly a work of art. My fabulous (dearly departed) Sil was very artistic and I treasure the cross stitch she made me for my graduation, it hangs on my wall today.

Drat! I'm being distracted again! There is so much more I wanted to express to everyone, but I' d better deal with these distractions. My thoughts are with all those going through hard times moon

Lins1066 Mon 09-Mar-20 20:21:28

Good news annsixty as GrannyGravy says, one day less to being pain free.
callgirl you have given an entirely new slant to being 'Missing in Action' - what a whirlwind of activities. I like both Alfie Boe and Michael Ball. Wishing your son the very best for his new treatment.

I hope your boiler buggeration will be sorted soon * N&G*, your craftwork loo roll is great.

Carillion I like your cross stitch picture very much. My late Fil used to do one each winter, we still have some of them.
Wishing your DH every good wish for his recovery and hope the physio went well.
Marydoll you took the words right out of my mouth re Maw ?

CherryCezzy Mon 09-Mar-20 19:54:19

Spent 2 hours in the supermarket today, it was ridiculous! Only a few cheap and nasty toilet rolls left on the shelf; I wonder who could be responsible hmm? There was a staff member in the aisle taking photographs, I looked at her and she looked at me and suddenly we were both laughing our heads off ?. Other people walking past were not impressed ?!

Smileless2012 Mon 09-Mar-20 19:20:44

14 daysshock well I'll have to run that by Mr. S. Can you accommodate 2 small and utterly fabulous dogs too Charleygirl?

Strong winds by the coast here too cornergran I was literally dragged home by both little dogs at 4.30pm who didn't appreciate having a few cobwebs blown away.

Charleygirl5 Mon 09-Mar-20 19:09:06

Smileless 3 days should see it done and dusted. Even I am proud of my garden shed- it is so tidy it is unbelievable and also there is very little in it. My loft is also empty. Of course, if you made it 14 days and added the living room and three bedrooms I would be forever grateful.

corner I quite fancy a blow along the seafront provided I can keep my balance.

ann another box ticked.

callgirl with all of these late nights you will be getting a reputation. Glad you enjoyed yourself both times. The travelling does take some of the enjoyment out of it but well worth it.
TOYA

annsixty and callgirl, sending love. Xx

Dear soop, have a good night's rest. Xxx

To all dear kitcheners, TOYA

cornergran Mon 09-Mar-20 18:38:46

We're too hard to resist maw grin. Glad you're OK.

We saw that show in cardiff callgirl, agree, it was brilliant. I came out beaming.

Full day here today, so a quicker than usual visit. Have been blown along the sea front (howling gale but the sun was shining so what choice was there?), waited (im)patiently while the car had new boots, rushed around Lidl, cooked lunch, began some much needed paperwork, spent two hours with a neighbour helping her complain (I can do complaining in case you hadn't noticed), sat with with Mr C watching a recording of the Abbey service. Now I should be finishing the paperwork so off I go.

TOYA

Marydoll Mon 09-Mar-20 18:11:15

Maw, I had such faith in you! My idol has fallen! ?

callgirl1 Mon 09-Mar-20 18:07:57

Sorry to have been missing for the last few days, I`ve been either out or tired and asleep! On Friday night my DIL arranged for a few of us to go round for the evening to cheer my son up and give him a boost after the start of the new cancer treatment. When we all, arrived he wondered what was going on, he said "That`s why Sharon`s had us cleaning up all day then!" We played the game of Articulate, Phrases, 5 women v 6 men, and we won! We won a game each, then we won the decider. To top the evening off, we had supper from the chippy. I didn`t get home till 1am,
Then on Saturday, I went to London with daughter 3, to see Michael Ball and Alfie Boe at the 02 arena, my Christmas present from her. Brilliant show, but due to it taking nearly an hour to get off the car park afterwards, it was just after 2.30am when she dropped me at home, it would have been nearly 3 when she got home. I spent yesterday aching in places I didn`t know existed due to a fair bit of unaccustomed walking, also half asleep, I dropped off twice!
I keep reading about all the things folk can`t get in the shops, it`s making me wonder how much of my Tesco order will actually come.
So sorry to read about Izabella and her poor husband, I hope things get better for them.
N&G, hopefully your boiler will soon be up and running again, it`s horrible being cold.
Sorry to have missed a few people out, but TOYA xx

MawB Mon 09-Mar-20 18:02:47

Mea culpa, mea maxima culpa - I am a fallen Maw, As Mae West once said, “I used to be like Snow White, but I drifted”
I have given in to temptation. I could not stomach some of the CV hysteria (comparing it to the Black Death and the “plague village “ of Eyam) ) and I have posted.
So as I am here, TOYA , so sorry to hear life has become even more fraught for Izabella , glad to hear Annsixty is getting closer to that important op, sending love and prayers to Morethan in your dreadfully tragic situation and just general loves to all of you.

soop Mon 09-Mar-20 17:40:52

annsixty Brilliant news. grin

I've been exceedingly tired today. Went to bed after lunch and have almost finished the book that I'm reading. Now, of course, I have to play catch up and do the usual stuff before our evening meal.

After care home visit, I shall be with you all again.

TOYA smile moon

Smileless2012 Mon 09-Mar-20 17:27:11

Not long to wait now annsixty. There was no need to give you a dementia test, we'd have all vouched for yousmile.

Smileless2012 Mon 09-Mar-20 17:24:45

Have you checked that you didn't put the missing 5 jars of marmalade in the shed or garage where garden tools are usually kept, which is why you had room to keep gardening tools in the kitchen Charleygirlgrin.

If you can look after Mr. S., I can manage a few days; how many days are we looking at?

You have been busy chicken no wonder you don't feel like tackling cupboards as well.

Yes no problem. You'll have wait until I've been to Charleygirl's. Looks like I'm going to be busy so please form an orderly queue for any one else needing a hand.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 09-Mar-20 17:20:21

Annsixty one day closer to being pain free flowers

annsixty Mon 09-Mar-20 17:18:41

Afternoon all.
I have been for my pre-op assessment this afternoon, so I feel it is getting a bit nearer.
Two very charming chatty nurses, everything seemed ok, ecg, blood pressure, swabs for MRSA, the only thing new was that “ because of my age” I had a dementia test!!
The nurse was very embarrassed, I just thought it was funny, I think I passed.

I have to go again on Thursday to see a Physio and again in 2 weeks for repeat blood tests, these are done twice now it seems.

I got a lift there, but it is not an easy place to get to, no direct public transport.
They rang me a taxi to come home and along with an incompetent driver who spoke very, very poor English and a faulty satnav, it cost me £25 to get home.
Enjoying a lovely cup of tea now with a neglected Molly on my knee.
