grannygravy if you run out of things to do please come and clean my kitchen?. Well The good news is that I’ve booked a Waitrose order ?. I then settled down to cleaning all the touchable bits again and put the cloths in a pan on the hob to boil. Thought I’d have a few minutes on my iPad. Heard a slight dripping noise and returned to the kitchen to find water dripping all down the cupboards and a big pool on the floor ?. Cleaned it all up but my under worktop microwave has gone berserk. Lights off, lights on, flashing signs I have never seen before. DH thinks water has got into the electrics. We are leaving it to dry out in the hope it sorts itself out. I am having a glass of wine. Yes I know it’s the middle of the afternoon but I’m having it so there ?
Hope you are all ok ?

Grandmafrench Thu 26-Mar-20 17:04:49

Oh Doodle - what a shame. We had a similar incident years ago and we moved the microwave, unplugged it, dried every part as carefully as we could and then left it 24 hours. Then, some kind person (the person responsible!!!!) spent quite a long time with a hairdryer on all the touchpads, buttons and screen parts to remove every bit of moisture. Took an hour or two but eventually it worked properly again. Wish you luck x

Evening All. Good day in corner land. After a very decadent lie in we’ve had most of the day organising in the garden and evicting unwanted growing things. I can’t tell you what they are as I haven’t a clue, only know I didn’t plant them hmm.

Our Morrison’s delivery was mostly complete, nothing missing that will trigger starvation or cause bathroom embarrassment.

Still no humour to share so I’ll add a photo of our young magnolia that has decided to bloom beautifully this year. We’ll draw a veil over last year. The garden always lifts my spirits.

TOYA, Be careful out there everyone.

Lins1066 Thu 26-Mar-20 18:15:55

A lovely magnolia corner, it looks like you've had a beautiful sunny day as well, wall to wall sunshine with us and warm too.
DS had an Asda online delivery today and included some shopping for us. He left it by the front door and went to the end of the drive and we had a quick chat. * soop* DH was relieved to see a bottle of whisky in the order but it still had the security tag thingy on it. Apparently the delivery
man had suggested a hacksaw. YouTube was consulted but was of no help due to the shape of the bottle. DH eventually drilled the pin out - Necessity is the Mother of Invention - he was an engineer but of the electrical variety. He says that he will share a dram or three with MacSporran. ?

I changed my bedding this evening and horror of horrors I had not put on the pillowcases when Tara came home. She walked up and down the bed miaowing until I had finished, removed the items for washing, left the room and she could settle down. That was me told off.

corner that flower whatever it is is beautiful. I only recognise daffodils, roses and tulips. My mother was an avid gardener- I am better at the labouring side.

Good evening dear kitchen.
Cool but lovely here today in Brittany. Sending you our lovely sky. DH doing well. Spinal recuperation better than we'd hoped for. Sending love and TOYA

CherryCezzy Thu 26-Mar-20 20:03:33

The police just rang me ( they have rung several times today) to tell me they've found my friend! [Smile] grin smile smile. She's okay, thank goodness! Now I can breathe. She's not at home and is very unlikely to ever come back and now I might never see her again but I know she's okay and is safe and that is what matters. I am so relieved and can now sleep easy tonight. moon

Smileless2012 Thu 26-Mar-20 20:09:42

That's wonderful news Cherry you must be so relievedsmile.

I've just stood on our door step to clap for all our wonderful NHS workers it was very moving to hear so many clapping, cheering and whistling.

Just a thought Charleygirl but do you think there's just a very slight possibility that Tara's just a little bit spoiledgrin

TOYA take care and stay safe x

Lins1066 Thu 26-Mar-20 20:09:52

Glad that your friend is safe CherryCezzy.
A lovely calming picture Carillion, your DH has done really well ?
We have just been out on our drive to join in the applause for the NHS at 8 pm.
TOYA ?

Doodle Thu 26-Mar-20 20:15:00

carillion what a lovely photo. Glad to hear DH is doing well.
cherryc glad your friend is safe but sorry to hear you might not meet again.
charley I might have to report you if you are not taking care of Tara’s bedding properly. Please make sure you are more prompt in the future ?
lins a bottle of whisky you can’t open ? thank goodness your DH managed it in the end ?
Beautiful magnolia corner one of my favourites. Shame they don’t last in bloom longer.
grandmafrench I have tried soaking up all the water and I too have resorted to a hairdryer. I have turned it off for tonight and hope it may have recovered a bit by tomorrow. DH is being very kind but I am cross with myself ?
Hope everyone is ok. TOYA ?

Grannmarie Thu 26-Mar-20 21:11:11

Evening, all.

Soop, hope you are feeling a wee bit better now.

eilyann, hope your family is okay.

doodle, that glass of wine was medicinal!

Cornergran, what a beautiful magnolia, thanks for sharing.

Lins1066, what an resourceful DH!

Carillion, beautiful sunset, thank you. Glad your DH is recovering well.

CherryCezzy, so glad your dear friend is safe.

Smileless 2012, I made my NHS poster this afternoon and put it in my front window above my Mother's Day flowers, to support my DS2, frontline NHS, and all NHS workers.
It was very emotional standing alone on my doorstep, surrounded by neighbours and families clapping, cheering, fireworks going off in the distance.

TOYA, night night God bless.

Charleygirl5 Thu 26-Mar-20 21:23:02

Smileless I have absolutely no idea what gave you that really crazy thought!

She came to me from the CPL when she was aged 2 having had 2 awful homes. She quickly found her feet here, not wanting to sleep in a cat bed.

She actually took over the second double bedroom when I had a bed in it but would not come near me for nearly a week when I had that bed removed to the 3rd bedroom.

She used to use the 3rd bedroom as her own but not any longer- she flits around the house during the night sleeping mostly on one of the 3 rugs on the landing outside the bathroom. I do not have carpets anywhere which of course
she hates but she has abdominal problems and is frequently sick so you can imagine the state of an oatmeal coloured carpet.

She moves off my bed the minute I switch off my light and flits between the chair in my bedroom, the mentioned rugs
and my pillow.

No, she definitely is not spoiled!!!

Good morning the kitchen the thread had dropped off the page and I had to search for the kitchen. Had my walk and now off for my shower have a good safe day all. ?

Charleygirl5 Fri 27-Mar-20 09:09:24

I as usual am washing for NW London especially now I can hang items outside. I am taking advantage of the sunshine because it will be vanishing in a day or two.

I have done a massive shop online for three households- I have never spent so much money in my entire life on food and goods. It will arrive on Tuesday and I will have to drive 3 miles to distribute the largest load- the other is two doors away so that is easy. I feel heart sorry for the delivery driver.

The drive will be my first outing for the week- the furthest I have been is to my bins.

Morning ladies.

Third time lucky for Tara Charleygirl finding a loving home after two bad onessad and I take it back that she's a bit spoiled. She deserves all the love and pampering she can getsmile.

It was emotional wasn't it Grannmarie and such a simple way to show our appreciation for the wonderful work they're all doing; great postersmile.

I've had my shower and just waiting for Mr. S. to finish his so we can get to Aldi. No idea what will be available so no shopping list, just play it be ear.

Hope you enjoyed your walk tanith, I'll be having mine later.

TOYA

cornergran Fri 27-Mar-20 09:18:19

You’re a star charley.

Very slow start here today. I have admin to do which may be the reason I’m in no hurry. grin. A walk later while the sun is still shining.

Delighted your husband is progressing carillion. We’ve a similar order placed for next week lins, I have explained to Mr C how to remove errant security tags, he’s very grateful for the tip.

Oh well, needs must and the admin calls. Please be careful out there everyone.

annsixty Fri 27-Mar-20 09:30:55

Good morning all.
I fell guilty, frustrated and envy in fairly equal measure when reading how you are all getting things done and managing walks and once a week shopping.
I can do so little.
I have both my lodgers at home now, after just one day my S 's head office decided to just shut the premises down, so he is home all day now as well.
I can tell you now this is going to be a nightmare. My lodgers are F and D and they do not get on.
He left the home when she was under 2. I will not elaborate.
Have as good a day as you can everyone.

NanaandGrampy Fri 27-Mar-20 09:58:14

Morning all!

A blue sky start to the day and I spent a pleasant 20 minutes watching Norbert our resident pheasant strut his stuff in the garden . Sam is bewildered by this interloper but not quite enough to get up and go and look!

Poor old Sam is poorly , and is currently nil by mouth for another 12 hours so he is not feeling himself .

Wow Ann sounds like you have a lot to deal with currently. Have I missed it - is your surgery going ahead?

Lovely picture Carillion !

I am off to carry on making cards for the family this morning . We have a WhatsApp group and it is so lovely to be able to keep in touch even if it is like this ! My daughter sent me a list of questions young Cooper answered yesterday and my favourite was - where do babies come from ? His reply - the toy shop !? Who knew?

Happy days all !

Purplepixie Fri 27-Mar-20 09:59:32

Good morning all in this lovely warm and welcoming kitchen. I’ve just popped in with some birthday cake for you all. It’s my birthday today! I might have a quiet day in with a good book to read, do a bit of knitting and finish off my cushion covers. Not having a walk today as I fell yesterday while out walking. My fault as I didn’t watch where I was going and banged my left side and shoulder off the ground. All sore today and I’m sure the bruises will be lovely once they come out. I’ll pop back later with some wine and hot toddies for all. Have a great day and stay safe. Sending love and hugs. Xx

annsixty Fri 27-Mar-20 10:04:14

N&G my surgery should have been today.
Will now be months away, I have resolved to pay to get it done as soon as possible when this thing is over, if I am still here of course.

tanith Fri 27-Mar-20 10:18:23

Happy Birthday Purplepixie ?????? have a lovely day.

Charleygirl5 Fri 27-Mar-20 10:30:07

N&G I am very concerned about Sam- I do hope he is okay.

Cooper has answered a question for me- that must be the reason why I did not have any babies- I have never been to a toy shop. Thank you, Cooper.

Purplepixie please be careful, A&E cannot cope if you break a bone! I have not been out since Monday and the furthest I have been is to my bins!

I really must go because I have an overdue appointment with my hoover. Luckily I have one upstairs and down so no balancing on my knee as I use the stair lift.

Carillion01 Fri 27-Mar-20 10:49:04

Purplepixie, Happy Birthday!! Have a lovely day. Xx???

soop Fri 27-Mar-20 12:21:26

A very happy birthday dear Purplepixie. A little later, I shall raise a glass of cheer. wine

You lot haven't drawn breath since I last popped in. I am saving reading through all your posts until lunchtime.

Here is last night's Kintyre sunset. We also stood in the garden at 8:pm and applauded the NHS. Our only other neighbours, stood in theirs and joined in. grin

NanaandGrampy Fri 27-Mar-20 12:29:17

So sorry to hear that ann , I know you had been pinning your hopes on the surgery .

I know Charley who knew that's where babies come from eh? Sam is looking a bit better this morning. No idea what caused it but I think another 24 hrs should see him back to his normal self.

Happy Birthday Purplepixie , I hope you have some treats to enjoy.

Wonderful sunset soop , definitely good for the soul x
