Oh blimey ann, I'm so sorry about your surgery, I had hoped you would squeeze in. Being in constant pain is so debilitating and in my case certainly not good for the temper but I'm sure you are a more even soul. Hope the tension you expect at home isn't as bad as you fear. Keep your head down if you can.

Pleased to hear Sam is looking a bit better n&g, maybe just an off day.

Happy birthday purplepixie, enjoy every minute.

That sunset is superb soop, nothing like that here. Its a bright, sunny day again which is so welcome. Apparently we are back to overcast from tomorrow, so we're off out this afternoon for our walk while the sun is shining. It seems we will try to do a bit more than usual. A good idea? Probably not!

Off to make soup now, the admin is almost finished and I'm feeling virtuous in the extreme as its my least favourite task.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 27-Mar-20 12:43:10

Happy Birthday PurplePixie ????

I have just spent two hours deep cleaning my fridge, it is one of those huge American ones which was much needed when the AC were at home. Instead if continuing onto the freezer I have made myself a latte and come upstairs to sit (well lay really) on my bed with the windows open and the sun streaming in.......bliss in these troubling times.

Hope you are feeling better today soop

Annsixty so sorry that your hip replacement had to be cancelled. I do hope that peace and harmony will emerge in your household.

Keep safe and well kitcheners x

soop Fri 27-Mar-20 13:50:31

ann I feel your disappointment. It's such a pity that, after waiting patiently for so long, your surgery needs to be cancelled until this crisis is sorted. We will do our very best to support you virtually although most sincerely, through the next difficult period of waiting.
You must keep yourself safe. That's a given. Your time will come. Patience is most certainly an almighty important virtue.

N&G Norbert is indeed a fine looking pheasant.
I'm sorry to hear that Sam is poorly. Please may he make a swift recovery.
Cooper's comment is priceless. It put a grin on our faces.

Doodle It's one buggeration after another...I did something similar some time ago. shock

corner I am slightly envious of your marvellous magnolia, the sharing of your photo is very timely

Lins1066 Macsporran wishes to accept your husband's kind invitation to share a dram or three. At what time will be convenient? wink.

Charleyg We all love Tara. She can do no wrong. That is an undisputable fact. grin

Another beautiful sunset, Carillion. Have we sent a recent group (hug) to MrC? If not...there are many heading in his direction.

CherryCezzy Thank goodness that the police have been able to put your mind at rest. You are a good neighbour. Enjoy some well deserved sleep.

Grannmarie That is a lovely gesture. We also stood in our garden last night and applauded the NHS. We only have two near neighbours, and they did likewise.

I intend returning a little later. xxx

Carillion01 Fri 27-Mar-20 13:52:56

GG what a lovely, tranquil post. Thank you x

Carillion01 Fri 27-Mar-20 13:53:54

Dear soop, xxxxx

Dreamkeeper Fri 27-Mar-20 14:27:19

A very warm Good afternoon to any friends that remember me and of course all new friends I hope to make in the future.
I have missed you so very much.

Let me hasten to say I was formerly known as Panache but because of having to re register etc I had to choose another username......although I remain very much the Panache of old!

Life has been long and difficult, being discharged from Hospital only last week, now in isolation at home with my dear man, both under the care of the medics.

We maybe extremely frail but remain determined to fight the good fight, including these very dark days seemingly ahead .
More than ever we need to stand tall together, although in our case it will be mainly in our hearts right now.

Wishing you all well, please keep smiling and keep safe.
Panache

Carillion01 Fri 27-Mar-20 14:38:12

Oh dear, dear Panache, now with a new but equally lovely name.
So glad to know you are back in the kitchen. I have only been a member of GN for a year but you were so kind and welcoming. Sending love and good wishes to you and your dear husband. Xxxx?????

annsixty Fri 27-Mar-20 14:51:19

On Panache how wonderful it is to hear from you again.
Well done in getting back home, and sounding so positive.
I hope you and your DH recover as well as you can ,being looked after by good people.

Mamissimo Fri 27-Mar-20 15:02:18

Dreamkeeper I am punching the air with delight to learn that you are both home again. I rarely post in the kitchen but read every day.....you’ve brought me out of hibernation. I shall eat my last slice of Christmas cake in celebration of your return.

annsixty so sorry about your operation - I have had my gallbladder removal similarly postponed and it seemed churlish to feel fed up at the moment but it’s very human. I am keeping everything crossed that they remember our position in the queue when things get on a more even keel again.

TOYA

GrannyGravy13 Fri 27-Mar-20 15:08:04

Dearest Dreamkeeper to know that you and your dear husband are home together has lifted my heart.

The kitchen is a much better place today now that you are back with us flowers

Keep safe and well xxxxxx

vena11 Fri 27-Mar-20 15:15:38

Welcome back Dreamkeeper

Grandmafrench Fri 27-Mar-20 15:40:52

What a simply fabulous view and sunset, Soop. as N&G has said, good for the soul, eh? I do hope you are on the mend now and not in any discomfort. FatBoy sends you a very loud purr.

Happy Happy Birthday, Purplepixie - and many Happy Returns. Not impressed with your falling over and you are now bruised and sore. It could have been so much worse, so thankful you seem to have avoided A & E. Be careful until you are fully mended!

I have cracked a rib, I think. An interesting distraction from current problems. But I wasn't walking, just bending over a high wooden arm of a chair to reach something from the floor (whilst sitting in the blasted chair!) What an idiot. I am in a lot of pain, but only when I hiccup, bend, laugh, or try to breathe deeply. So that's alright then. wink

I have just 'phoned an old friend/neighbour in England. She is very down because she has no family near and in any case, they are a totally uncaring lot. She's toppling about because she was due to have brain surgery for a cyst but all that's been cancelled. She now says what will be will be and if she dies in her bed, she'll be happy. So, I have just spent an hour trying so very hard to lift her mood a little. She was laughing when we said good-bye, and was so thrilled I called, so that's lifted my mood as well.

Doodle please tell me that your microwave is now working again? Fingers and toes all crossed.

Charley you are a great big STAR !

Hang in there Ann, so sorry you have disappointment and delay, it all sounds like a very testing time. Maybe you'll just have to referee sometimes? But never forget.... your house, your rules ! ( wine smile )

Keep safe, everyone. Hugs (and a ginger biscuit) from France.

gransal Fri 27-Mar-20 15:43:47

oh my dear panache, what a piece of joyful news in these troubled times. Hoping you and your wonderful man keep as well as you can

Pittcity Fri 27-Mar-20 15:48:17

Welcome back Dreamkeeper.

CherryCezzy Fri 27-Mar-20 16:16:48

Thank you soop I did sleep well, I feel quite guilty as I didn't wake up until gone 9am! The police were brilliant and heartily thanked me for my call and I heartily thanked them back. I did miss the clap ( not the best word to use) for the health workers because their call came virtually at 8pm. From what I could hear however, it was very quiet here which is such a shame. Like I said before though there is not much community spirit here so I shouldn't be surprised but it does make me a bit angry. I do love the sunset photo, sending it's promise of delight. We all need some of that, thank you x

annsixty so sorry to hear that your operation had been postponed. It can't be easy for you flowers . Please take care of yourself ❤️
Sorry to hear that your operation has also been postponed Mamissimo flowers
I'll join in the group ((hug)) if I may Carillion.

Feeling a little upset, but shouldn't be really, after a couple of relatively mild teases on another thread today. Guess it's made me aware of who to 'steer clear of' but from what I gather there are a few who feel the same about at least one of the posters. My WP has a saying "don't let the simple b........s get you down" and he's right I know that so I'll get over it, move on and keep smile.

Hope to return later but if I don't TOYA ❤️

soop Fri 27-Mar-20 16:23:40

Dearest Dreamkeeper YOU have MADE my day. And yes...I am shouting! Wonderful to have you back here with us. You have been sorely missed. flowers sunshine

Grandmafrench Ouch! That sounds extremely painful.Do take better care of yourself.
It is as much as any of us can do for each other and friends in the outside world. I do believe that the sound of a voice over the phone is a marvellous "pick me up" when times get really tough. That and sending messages on Facebook and of course, here in our kitchen. We are fortunate to have each other.

Hello, Mamissimo venal gransal Pittcity Grannygravy and anyone who I may have missed. This kitchen moves at such speed. I tend to get a bit behind from time to time.

Have spent almost an hour (in two shifts) pedalling my bike to ABBA. Honest to goodness, I feel heaps better (and sweatier) for it. I blame my sons who are moving climbing stair mountains and are doing remarkably well.

I shall log off for today. Thinking of you all and I shall do my very best to join you all again tomorrow. smile moon

Bellanonna Fri 27-Mar-20 16:26:10

PurplePixie, many happy returns!

Izabella Fri 27-Mar-20 16:43:37

Dreamkeeper I am another one whose day has been made by your return. Welcome back, you sorely missed.

Lins1066 Fri 27-Mar-20 16:48:45

N&G I have sent you a PM x

Galen Fri 27-Mar-20 16:56:58

purple happy Birthday. You share it with my darling daughter .
Ann commiserations.
Dreamkeeper good to see you back
I spent an hour on my patio watching a wren who was industriously depesting all my plants. It did keep 2 metres away from me so that was ok.
I’ve never seen it so close before.
Gary tells me there are millions of tadpoles in my pond. I don’t think he’s actually counted them however

Lins1066 Fri 27-Mar-20 17:05:21

Welcome back Dreamkeeper you have been much missed by all your friends in the Kitchen. To hear that both you and your DH are back in your home is very happy news.

annsixty and Mamissimo so sorry to hear that your operations have been cancelled.
We joined in the applause for the NHS last night, most of our neighbours were out too.

DH has been pressure washing the drive, he says it's a two day job, it is sorely needed.
Happy Birthday PurplePixie ?

Charleygirl5 Fri 27-Mar-20 17:51:02

Happy birthday Purplepixie- are you like me re age, I am now going backwards!

ann and Mamissimo I was ever hopeful your surgeries would be sneaked through but unfortunately you both missed out by a few days.

ann it cannot be easy living in your house at present but as somebody else said, your house, your rules if they will listen to you. I hope Molly is keeping well and stopped that nasty butterfly catching. There are so many unsavoury things she could feast on- a spider or moth or two maybe?
TOYA

Smileless2012 Fri 27-Mar-20 18:02:03

So sorry about your surgery cancellations annsixty and Mamissimo flowers it must be very frustrating for you. It's reminded me once again how fortunate we are that Mr. S. go this a month ago.

'Happy Birthday PurplePixiecupcakewine hope you've managed to have a good day.

Sounds like your DH's been keeping busy Lins, just like
Mr. S. who cleaned the outside windows the window cleaner doesn't ever get too. It's a firstshockI usually do them and he's done a brilliant job; no smears to be seengrin.

In case I don't get back to the kitchen this evening TOYA.

I'm relatively new to the kitchen Dreamkeeper so don't think we've met but wanted to send you some virtual flowers to welcome you and your DH home, and you back to the kitchen.

That must be very painful Grandmafrench I bruised my ribs years ago when I was knocked off my bike and that was bad enough. Do take it easyflowers.

I'm sorry you've been upset elsewhere on GN Cherry. Everyone I'm sure is feeling anxious and sensitive because of current events, and a little kindness goes a long way. So thank you Soop for this warm, kind and friendly place.

mrshat Fri 27-Mar-20 18:04:21
