What's your favourite time of day?

My favourite time. Dinner finished (early today) all cleared away and the dishwasher humming. I have retreated to my little study - topped up the Chardonnay (or grape juice if this is a non alcohol day). Checking emails and the few friends I have on Facebook, plus just looking stuff up on the Internet and I think that this is my favourite time of day. Will wander into the sitting room later when we watch something like Flesh & Blood or Liar. I remember back in the day when this was such a frantic time - checking homework - getting stuff ready for the next day etc. There is a benefit to retirement and just having time to do what we want. What is your favourite time of day?

Waking up and realising I don’t have to get up and go to work. Although I have been retired from a busy and extremely challenging profession for 10 years it still gives me pleasure to roll over, snuggle down and have another little snooze!

Early morning before hubby is awake. Let the chicken out, feed the dog and fat and listen to the birds singing, especially now spring is near.

My favourite time of the day is late on a night when I am on my own and can chill. It always has been even when all the children were at home, once they were all in bed it was me time, even more now when my husband is settled and I can just chill, no needing to see to his needs, which is what I do from coming home from work.

Getting into bed after bathing and sorting out DH, hoping he won’t wake till a reasonable hour. I catch up on TV on the I-pad or read, and it is absolutely my own private time.

Depends on the season. Around 0600 in summer and 2100 ish in winter.

Early morning for me. I always rise early, switch on BBC TV, look at my laptop, and enjoy the peace and quiet before the day begins. I'm an early bird, rather than night owl.

Early morning when I wake up, especially when I hear the birds chirping, and I think I’m still here to see another day, never take anything for granted,

I love evenings as the sun sets....I live in the North East and am very lucky to experience this regularly.
Just me and my dogs!

My favourite time is 9am watching tv with a small beer chatting to friends online and going to bed on my own

4.00am on a warm sunny summers morning on my days off work.
Nothing but birdsong breaking the silence.
No dogs barking, no people jibber jabbering away, no phones, no traffic.
And Definately No Alarm Clock!
Utter bliss.

That moment at the end of the day when nothing needs cooking/cleaning/feeding.

Morning for me too, I walk the dogs, empty the dish washer, feed the cats then I can sit down with coffee, cereal and GN. So relaxing.

1am when I'm always wide awake, checking the posts on Gransnet.

I like forenoons. I feel purposeful then, as there's always plenty to do. I'm a bit of a night owl, having a new lease of life around ten ish, so happily occupied then too. I often iron or wash floors then. Strange that none of us have mentioned afternoon.

Early evening when all jobs finished .

Barmeyoldbat Wed 11-Mar-20 18:45:04

It has to be getting into bed, especially when I have put clean sheets on the bed.

How I envy all you larks! Someone hits me over the head with a hammer every night and I always wake up feeling dreadful...? I used to say I was an owl, but now I don’t think any part of the day is that good...
But, a hot water bottle and a good book make me happy.

Bedtime after a long day at work I love the restful relaxation

Nortsat46 Wed 11-Mar-20 19:03:51

Our favourite time is about 8.30, after we have eaten our supper. We sit in the living room, with a glass of wine or a coffee and chat, listen to music or watch television and just unwind ...

Lizbethann55 Wed 11-Mar-20 20:01:48

BlueSapphire I was going to say 3.00pm on days when I am not at work so I can watch Escape to the Country. My guilty secret.

Evie64 Wed 11-Mar-20 20:20:52

Evenings when I can sit on my laptop and check out Gransnet, do a bit of "property porn", you know, looking at mahoosive houses that I can't afford. Then later, getting into bed with my Kindle and reading for an hour before becoming unconscious grin

Fibrogran59 Wed 11-Mar-20 20:32:06

I do not sleep well. Despite going to bed at a sensible time, i don't get to sleep until about 2.00am. if i am lucky. I sleep for 30 minutes, 60 on the odd occasion, then wake up and can't sleep again until 5 or 6am. This is my favourite time, between 3 and 5am. Hubby is sound asleep, the house is quiet and dark and i feel so relaxed, calm and safe. I wish i could permanently live in those same 2 hours.

kelleensc Wed 11-Mar-20 20:40:42

Early morning before anyone wakes up. It's quiet and peaceful and the worries of the day haven't piled up yet. And, that's when I work out and feel like a Bad A@%

Bathsheba Wed 11-Mar-20 20:48:07

Breakfast time. Because by then I've completed my long morning routine - physio exercises, shower, meds. So sitting down with a bowl of cereal, a cup of tea and my book is heaven!
