Good Morning Everyone,
Its just daylight here in Brackley and we have had rain overnight .
Today after breakfast will do laundry , then will go out to Buckingham and Bicester as normal .
Mind you where I live extra precautions have come into play as well.

Good Morning Mick and all.
Thank you Susan. Our family are coming for lunch later so very much looking forward to that. Plenty to do so I'd better get moving.
You are very inventive with your Scrabble themed bags Marydoll.
Hope Saturday is kind to everyone.

Just pooped back - to see if GabriellaG54 is posting on Mick’s thread. She’s back on GN.

Morning Mick and All.

We are now back home in a dull grey South Bucks.

We are relieved to be home and intend hunkering down as much as we can. I wonder how long before I go stir crazy, not long I suspect.

My niece emailed me from Northern Italy to say she was worried about us and to be vigilant, how nice that she cared.

Never realised how much I would miss the live sport. I do think we are lucky though that we live in an age where we have the Internet, so we can stay in touch with our friends and family.

Have a good day folks.

Good morning everyone,

It's a grey, damp morning today. It looks as if we have had rain through the night.

Not a lot planned for today other than the usual jobs for a Saturday. Had hoped to get into the garden to do a little tidying up, but it looks as if we will be in for a wet day.

Hope you all have a good Saturday whether you have plans or none.
? for those of you feeling sad or unwell.

Good morning from a bright but cloudy Staffs. Yes Ginny it is grape hyacinths-muscari-they were in my bouquet when we married. It’s our Golden wedding shortly-we were going to have a family meal at a local hotel but will probably call it off. DD2 lives in Yorks and her DH is a medic. He warned us last week to effectively “self isolate” and we have taken his advice so no clubs, choirs or even church for us! Truly thank God for FT! I realise it’s different if you’re on your own but we’re making the best of it. We do go for a walk outside every day and sometimes walk with friends too. Keep safe everyone!

(I blame the porn star martini ? Urmston )
Good morning all from sunny N Bucks. It is such a lovely morning you wonder how anything could beating in the world - then you look at the paper..?☹️
Quiet day getting ready for the family tomorrow - it will have to be birthdays plus Mother’s Day combined I suspect. I have refused to be seriously worried up till now, but it’s not looking good is it? ☹️
Wishing you all a lovely weekend and that all will keep safe and well.

Good morning Michael, Annie and all, from a damp corner of Berks.
We are supposed to be going out for our usual meet up with friends, for coffee and a chat, but I wonder how many of us will be there this morning. A couple were due to be flying off to Spain yesterday.
The sun is struggling to appear now, so looks as though it will brighten up.
Have a good day one and all

Good morning from rainy Colchester. DS works in a supermarket and was on a week's holiday but has gone in as as much overtime pay as is necessary has been authorised. Usually there is no overtime pay in the budget!
DH was called by the company he retired from over two years ago to ask if he would be willing to return if needed...this is in public transport, not healthcare!
My usual activities are being called off gradually.
Think we might have takeaway tonight as the stuff in the freezer is for "in case". It's a bit like Christmas..."you can't eat that...."

I have refused to be seriously worried up till now, but it’s not looking good is it? ☹️

Ditto here Maw
I can’t decide if watching too much news coverage is skewing my sense of perspective?

Maybe I’ll just order a second porn star martini tonight ....

Thank you Pittcity for my first giggle of the day! Love it.

Good morning Michael and all GNs. A dull old day in South Yorkshire with rain showers forecast. I had a fairly sleepless night. We may venture out to a small plant nursery today (not a garden centre by the longest stretch of the imagination so it won’t be busy) to get some early ideas for the garden. Like others, we are trying not to run the gauntlet of this thing too much, but we spend a couple of hours with GS two days a week, and will have to decide how - whether - that can safely continue. I’m grateful for the technology that will enable us to, at least, face time him. Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

If we are really to be housebound for weeks I fear that the increased death rate will be caused by frustrated and furious spouses who can’t escape their loved ones’ irritating habits! Not GNers, of course, who are above reproach .......

Seriously, I can’t think that not engaging in our normal pursuits will be good for any of us and wonder if we are trading one risk for another.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I'll be able to pick daffies for the café tables today. Cake baked. We'll only close if we have no customers but there'll be no touching.grin
We had to take our French lass to the airport in the night as her family want her home. Our son is working from home. Strange times.
Hoping everyone has a good day.
Ginny those blue cluster flowers are muscari or grape hyacinths.
Glad to hear your DD's wedding plans are going ahead Marydoll

EllanVannin Sat 14-Mar-20 09:21:22

Good Morning All x
A cloudy start but dry and calm. The gulls were squawking earlier so I think winds aren't far away. I don't mind hearing them but they drowned out the lovely tune from the " resident " blackbird. We have lots of finches here too.

More work to do indoors I think, and seeing that the bins were emptied yesterday I'll refill them with the old creams/lotions and those horrible nylon sponges that seem to breed.

Whether the teen GGC will pop in today I'm not sure but they usually do on a Saturday. It's always nice to see them. I don't know when their dad's funeral is there hasn't been any information and we're not sure if there had to be an inquest.

My D's friend is due from the U.S. on a visit soon so we're not sure if that'll take place. We'll wait and see. This infection has put paid to everything.

Hoping everyone is remaining well, just enjoy the day as best you can. Thoughts to anyone worried or under the weather. xx

Good morning all.
I read every day but seldom post on this thread.
I am used to reading weather reports from round the country , now it is mostly shopping shortages, cancelled plans etc.
I am now, like others, getting alarmed.
I am scheduled for a hip replacement in less than 2 weeks.
I am self isolating now until that time but also very concerned it will be cancelled.
I am not alone, but being selfish on my behalf.

conor Sat 14-Mar-20 09:26:42

Good morning from a damp grey Essex. Did pop out to hairdressers yesterday so at least my hair will look nice even if I can't see anyone. My DC have decided I'm in the risk age group so no cuddles with DGC. Missing them already but we will do what is required to keep safe. Lunch in London today with my cousin is cancelled. Her DH is a GP and advised against it. May just have to join Urmstongran on the cocktails. Have the pass the time somehow!!! ??
Lots of jobs lined up for the impending isolation but like the "don't touch before Xmas" post, I don't want to start too soon in case we are in for a long haul!! Keep safe everyone xxxx

Good morning from a damp but sunny at the moment Glasgow.

Such a lovely spring day yesterday which I enjoyed pottering in the garden and inspecting everything that has sprouted giving many areas life again. Two coffee breaks sitting in the sun. Bliss. I noticed a bone on part of the roof no doubt left by a fox having a midnight feast?

No set plan for today as DH did a supermarket shop yesterday, no shortages on the shelves apart from the usual. What I don’t understand is why anyone would be stock piling loo roll??

Have a pleasant day all.

mancgirl Sat 14-Mar-20 10:13:13

Good morning from a sunny Costa Blanca ?. Had a lovely lunch up in the rustic restaurant yesterday. Everyone enjoying listening to the music and having a nice time. At the end of our meal the owner came to us with tears in her eyes to say that as from midnight the whole of the Valencia region had to close all bars and restaurants. She had food for days that will have to be thrown away, such a shame. No pornstar martini for me Urmston! Not having enough food in the house now we can't go out, went to the supermarket early, it was heaving. Plenty fresh stuff, no pasta, eggs or meat. Very little chicken left but got some. This is how it must have felt in wartime. On a brighter note, the sun is shining, it's a beautiful day and about to make scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. Is it too early to open the cava to go with them shock? Hope everyone has a good day, keep safe.

nonnasusie Sat 14-Mar-20 10:13:19

Good morning from a sunny Italy. The weather is the only good thing here at the moment.
We have enough food etc. to last a while thank goodness. We also have our forms if we need to venture out. We do not have any masks as there are none to be had anywhere.
I'm sure we can find plenty to do in the house and garden. Keep safe everyone.

Just a very quick good morning from the NE coast today where it’s very dull and grey but not raining.....yet.

The wallpaper for Evie’s room did not arrive yesterday despite me paying an extra £5.95 for 3 day delivery . My DD just kept getting texts from the delivery company (Hermes....how are they still in business? their reviews are shocking) to say delivery was out with the driver and would arrive today. Well there was someone in the house all day and it did not come .

I’m at DD’s now as she is at work and I hope it comes today but so far not a word. Managed to get a few other jobs done in a bit of a topsy turvy way. Curtain pole up, curtains hung (nowhere near wallpaper) new shelf unit built up and books all organised. All done with the wonderful assistance of my 22 month old apprentice.

Will catch up with this lovely thread later. Have a good Saturday everyone (my 2nd favourite day of the week) .

Love Gillybob xx
