In Gemini Towers we have a new plan to help us survive the isolation. A daily timetable . It will begin tomorrow and follows helpful hints from the tv tonight.

7am Dawn chorus. Opera singing in the back garden.
( thanks to Gareth Malone for the suggestion. Husband not keen. I have a sore throat but nevertheless....)

10am old fashioned PT hour jogging round the daffs till out of puff. No kit ? Do what we did in the old days. Tuck vest in.

11am Tai Chi or our version thereof. Also in back garden ( hope it doesn’t rain )

Lunch
PM
2pm Chinese language lesson . Could prove useful.
3pm Meal planning using Blitz cook book. Spam fritters maybe ?
4pm Meditation hour. In garden if fine. Loud chants of Om and banging of gongs/chimes /dustbin lids or whatever’s to hand .
5pm Watch Big Brother Boris’s guide to isolation for the old guys on the telescreen.

I’m too tired to plan the evening. Any suggestions ? Would any one like to join us by videolink tomorrow ? ???‍♂️??

castillemon I am so sorry. I have been talking to carillion on another thread and got confused. Also, I misread you name as callistemon which sounds like carillion and just got carried away (as no doubt I should be ?) So sorry. To make up for it I will make sure you get the comfy armchair in the K & N group and will bring you a nice big slice of gaunt’s cake.

I like the sound of the pink spiky hair by the way ?

Callistemon Sat 21-Mar-20 11:42:13

Doodle I'm Castillemon, the one with the pink spiky hair smile

Carillion is the nice, quiet well-behaved one, is she here?
Can she knit, if not she can do the washing up?

Oopsadaisy3 Sat 21-Mar-20 11:40:40

DD has just pushed a large bar of Cadbury’s fruit and nut through the letterbox.

Maybe I should have let her in [hmmm] ?

Nope it’s all mine....

Doodle Sat 21-Mar-20 11:38:13

Everyone is welcome to the knit and natter group. Crocheting is fine carillion and sussexborn you can certainly help with the wool and join in the natter.

Don’t worry jane I’ll give you a hearty slap on the back to stop you choking. ?. There is that better? Oops sorry carillion the scone seems to have shot out straight into your brew blush

Callistemon Sat 21-Mar-20 11:31:30

That flat has a walk in closet shock
I could get to like it here

And a balcony (no pesky weeds)

Callistemon Sat 21-Mar-20 11:29:46

Oops, I shoved too much in there in one go!
Didn't mean to make you choke, Jane10, sorry

Hace a brew

Jane10 Sat 21-Mar-20 11:13:51

Could somebody feed me a cheese scone? Not too much butter please.

Gaunt47 Sat 21-Mar-20 10:48:48

The chocolate torte is cooling and smells amazing and the banana bread is going to be ready at 11ish. I've fished out some old tea bags but the coffee's fresh.
All are welcome, but let me know what you're bringing.

ROFL?

Gemini17892 Sat 21-Mar-20 10:26:46

Good morning !
Gaunt you’re a chicken ( so am I )
Well good resolutions are fading. It was the knitting wot dunnit. I got waylaid looking for patterns. Doodle. It’s your fault.
Don’t think rowyn’s talkin’ to me now. Was it ‘cos I called her posh ? I thought Bella Senora was an opera. Turns out it’s something else on You Tube. Now I’m knitting a cheeky tutu type outfit for it.
Now who was it hosts the 11am virtual coffee morning ? Cake ? I’ll make it if I get a wriggle on. ?‍♀️?‍♀️?‍♀️

MawB Sat 21-Mar-20 10:18:42

Should have RTWFT -I see Marmight got there before me (she is a much travelled lady! ) blushblush

MawB Sat 21-Mar-20 10:16:27

Travel ideas for the weekend?

Callistemon Sat 21-Mar-20 10:03:21

Sussexborn I could do with a nattering wool winder
Are you any good at making a brew as well?

Jane10 if you can manage to hold your plastered arms in the air, Sussexborn can put the skeins of yarn on them and wind them into balls!
Pas de problème!!

Jane10 Sat 21-Mar-20 08:51:29

I can sing and don't need propped up but I do have a bit of a problem: you know my arms are in plaster, you've seen the Angel of the North...
I take up so much room now. DH can't sit near me on the sofa (fine by me!) but I have to go through doors sideways.

Gaunt47 Sat 21-Mar-20 08:42:12

Sorry but I won't be swimming at the lido today, it's too cold and windy. But I'll be at the singalong at 10. Just now practising my scales.

Ohmother Sat 21-Mar-20 08:20:47

I’m not looking after the GCs but I expect my daughter’s house looks a bit like this!

Our schedule is being written out today. My DH is in his chair fast asleep and snoring most afternoons so he’s only experiencing this madness as a part timer.

I went essentials shopping yesterday. There were no toilet rolls left so I bought a new 5 pack of knickers instead.

Oopsadaisy3 Sat 21-Mar-20 07:58:40

DH is looking online for a large house with outbuildings, at least 20 acres of land, 2 cottages for DDs, on a hill because of potential flooding, a small area of woodland with ready dug kitchen garden, preferably walled - all within walking distance of
A vintage car auction company
A friendly pub
An Aldi or Lidl
All for very little money and I mean very, very little money.
I told him to go for it, it keeps him occupied whilst I worry about World problems, we aren’t ever moving anyway.

Oopsadaisy3 Sat 21-Mar-20 07:52:57

I might break out a Christmas pudding and a can of custard I found in the Airing cupboard ( I wondered where I had put them) sell by dates are 2016 for Pud and 2015 for custard.
I have loo rolls, we’ll be fine........

Oopsadaisy3 Sat 21-Mar-20 07:50:41

Sussexborn the days of standing with arms out with the hanks of wool whilst Mum wound it into balls, I couldn’t persuade her to use the back of a chair, oh the aching arms!
My Mum could knit for England, I spent many hours with my arms stuck out.

Sussexborn Sat 21-Mar-20 00:28:09

I am quite good at the natter part but not so good at the knitting part. However if anyone needs help winding the wool into a ball I am your wo(man). It’s been sixty years since I last wound woolly balls but I am sure it will come back to me. Like riding a bike.

Callistemon Sat 21-Mar-20 00:08:08

Doodle may I join the knitting group please?

However, being of a rebellious nature, I am going to crochet;
so far I can only do the one stitch and go round in ever increasing squares but am happy to teach anyone else who wants to learn a soothing but mindless new hobby!!

Callistemon Fri 20-Mar-20 23:58:08

We rewired our last house between us.

I even learnt what a mouse was (not the half dead one the cat brings in nor the thingy next to the pc).

Maggiemaybe Fri 20-Mar-20 23:49:03

I’m going to try out all those exercise videos GNHQ has posted for us. Today I’ve done the walk a mile one, twice (pats self on back), and twirled a few cans of beans about.

I’ve FaceTimed DD2 and DGS4, aged 2. This is new territory to us, as we normally see each other twice a week (sob!). He asked if I can come to you, Nanna, where you are in mummy’s laptop. Oh I wish!

I cleaned the bathroom and kitchen within an inch of their lives, and unleashed the new carbolic soaps. The house now has a distinct smell of Beamish.

And I drank some of the Christmas sherry, that apparently should have been used within 7 days. I seem to have got away with it. It’s getting very 1940s round here.

Tomorrow I will go for a drive to the seaside, park on a cliff , no, not to jump off it, but to get some sea breeze and take in the view.
