In Gemini Towers we have a new plan to help us survive the isolation. A daily timetable . It will begin tomorrow and follows helpful hints from the tv tonight.

7am Dawn chorus. Opera singing in the back garden.
( thanks to Gareth Malone for the suggestion. Husband not keen. I have a sore throat but nevertheless....)

10am old fashioned PT hour jogging round the daffs till out of puff. No kit ? Do what we did in the old days. Tuck vest in.

11am Tai Chi or our version thereof. Also in back garden ( hope it doesn’t rain )

Lunch
PM
2pm Chinese language lesson . Could prove useful.
3pm Meal planning using Blitz cook book. Spam fritters maybe ?
4pm Meditation hour. In garden if fine. Loud chants of Om and banging of gongs/chimes /dustbin lids or whatever’s to hand .
5pm Watch Big Brother Boris’s guide to isolation for the old guys on the telescreen.

I’m too tired to plan the evening. Any suggestions ? Would any one like to join us by videolink tomorrow ? ???‍♂️??

I can sing and don't need propped up but I do have a bit of a problem: you know my arms are in plaster, you've seen the Angel of the North...
I take up so much room now. DH can't sit near me on the sofa (fine by me!) but I have to go through doors sideways.

Callistemon Sat 21-Mar-20 10:03:21

Sussexborn I could do with a nattering wool winder
Are you any good at making a brew as well?

Jane10 if you can manage to hold your plastered arms in the air, Sussexborn can put the skeins of yarn on them and wind them into balls!
Pas de problème!!

Travel ideas for the weekend?

MawB Sat 21-Mar-20 10:18:42

Should have RTWFT -I see Marmight got there before me (she is a much travelled lady! ) blushblush

Good morning !
Gaunt you’re a chicken ( so am I )
Well good resolutions are fading. It was the knitting wot dunnit. I got waylaid looking for patterns. Doodle. It’s your fault.
Don’t think rowyn’s talkin’ to me now. Was it ‘cos I called her posh ? I thought Bella Senora was an opera. Turns out it’s something else on You Tube. Now I’m knitting a cheeky tutu type outfit for it.
Now who was it hosts the 11am virtual coffee morning ? Cake ? I’ll make it if I get a wriggle on. ?‍♀️?‍♀️?‍♀️

MawB
ROFL?

Gaunt47 Sat 21-Mar-20 10:48:48

The chocolate torte is cooling and smells amazing and the banana bread is going to be ready at 11ish. I've fished out some old tea bags but the coffee's fresh.
All are welcome, but let me know what you're bringing.

Jane10 Sat 21-Mar-20 11:13:51

Could somebody feed me a cheese scone? Not too much butter please.

Callistemon Sat 21-Mar-20 11:29:46

Oops, I shoved too much in there in one go!
Didn't mean to make you choke, Jane10, sorry

Hace a brew

Callistemon Sat 21-Mar-20 11:31:30

That flat has a walk in closet shock
I could get to like it here

And a balcony (no pesky weeds)

Doodle Sat 21-Mar-20 11:38:13

Everyone is welcome to the knit and natter group. Crocheting is fine carillion and sussexborn you can certainly help with the wool and join in the natter.

Don’t worry jane I’ll give you a hearty slap on the back to stop you choking. ?. There is that better? Oops sorry carillion the scone seems to have shot out straight into your brew blush

Oopsadaisy3 Sat 21-Mar-20 11:40:40

DD has just pushed a large bar of Cadbury’s fruit and nut through the letterbox.

Maybe I should have let her in [hmmm] ?

Nope it’s all mine....

Callistemon Sat 21-Mar-20 11:42:13

Doodle I'm Castillemon, the one with the pink spiky hair smile

Carillion is the nice, quiet well-behaved one, is she here?
Can she knit, if not she can do the washing up?

Doodle Sat 21-Mar-20 11:58:14

castillemon I am so sorry. I have been talking to carillion on another thread and got confused. Also, I misread you name as callistemon which sounds like carillion and just got carried away (as no doubt I should be ?) So sorry. To make up for it I will make sure you get the comfy armchair in the K & N group and will bring you a nice big slice of gaunt’s cake.

I like the sound of the pink spiky hair by the way ?

Grammaretto Sat 21-Mar-20 11:58:37

2 walk-in closets Callistemon !!

faye17 Sat 21-Mar-20 12:01:39

Don't know if this is the appropriate thread for this but here goes-
When I messaged my son a week ago to say that I wouldn't be taking our 18month old grandson from that day on as we were self- isolating his reply was ' Okay, just leave him out on the front step & we'll collect him grin'
My wonderful son - his sense of humour never fails to lift me

Gaunt47 Sat 21-Mar-20 12:28:35

Well I enjoyed the coffee break, but did Mr Doodle really have to have a third slice? Doodle I hope his interview for a security guard at Sainsbury's goes well. He is a fine figure of a man.
faye17 of course you can join in, knitting and baking skills are optional but they help in a frivolous sort of way....

Callistemon Sat 21-Mar-20 12:33:58

It's not the first time we have been mixed up.

Yes, cake should soothe me, thank you very much
I could fall asleep in that lovely chair.

Grammaretto how did I miss the second walk-in closet? blush
I was overdue an optician's appointment and it's not going to happen now for some time.

faye17 Sat 21-Mar-20 13:29:26

Thankyou Gaunt 47 - couldn't call myself a baker but have been known to knit a few treats wink

Ginny59 Sat 21-Mar-20 13:45:30

Not sure of the need for timetable I wouldn't normally live like that! I just hav a list of things I like doing to go to if I get down or 'bored' (never let my children use that word). Today I polished each nail (all 10) different colours then joined an online jazz workshop wearing a silly hat for Saturday just enjoying life and doing whatever I like.

Doodle Sat 21-Mar-20 14:03:55

Ok on with the knit and natter group. callistemon make yourself comfy in the armchair and here’s a slice of cake and a brew for you. That crochet of yours is getting bigger by the minute. Keep going and we can use it as a carpet on the floor.
faye you are more than welcome. How about knitting some fancy cup cakes. That would be fun ?. Just watch out for jane she keeps turning round and knocking people out with her plaster casts.
So what is everyone up to today?

Gaunt47 Sat 21-Mar-20 14:37:04

I could hardly get through the door for Callistemon's crochet.
Ginny I love the idea of wearing a silly hat today, perhaps Callistemon could crochet a few. I'm useless at that sort of thing.
I'm going to be baking for tomorrow's coffee morning - any requests?

Jane10 Sat 21-Mar-20 15:37:26

Oh dear. DGS has discovered video WhatsApp calls. Think he had a fright suddenly seeing me in all my manky glory. No point in dressing up or make up or hair brushing. I'll really have to smarten up in case of video calls now. Unforseen snag of modern technology.

Callistemon Sat 21-Mar-20 15:38:56

Gaunt it's big enough for everyone to isolate underneath.
