Good Morning Everyone,
Its grey skies plus wet as well here in Brackley this morning.
Today , would have been a show trip to see Tina at the Aldwych theatre but was cancelled.
So will do my usual trips to Buckingham and Bicester.
I feel better being able to get out and mix with people I have got to know .
Mick

Possibly Urmstongran but we are all encouraged to keep a distance when out, not at all what Mick us planning to do.

Thanks curlywhirly.

Scentia Thu 19-Mar-20 12:43:56

Oooh Gabriella totally uncalled for on this lovely thread.

Urmstongran Thu 19-Mar-20 12:28:11

Gabriella isn’t it okay for Mick to be out and about if he’s under 70y? That’s what I thought the guidelines meant. Self isolating for the over 70’s?

Urmstongran Thu 19-Mar-20 12:26:05

X post Gabriella! That was a bit ?‍♀️

Urmstongran Thu 19-Mar-20 12:25:00

I know GG13 and connor! I was MIA and had no way to let my GN pals know the reason why!

That said, where’s GabriellaG?? No post yesterday either. I hope she is alright. She’s just returned from a flight back from the Caribbean....

Fantastic news about your daughter’s wedding dress Marydoll! Result! I can imagine your daughter’s joy!

GabriellaG54 Thu 19-Mar-20 12:24:08

12Michael...you're ignoring government guidelines re keeping at a distance from other people. How utterly ignorant and selfish just because you want to 'feel better getting out and about and mixing with people you know'. Wow! Unbelievable,!

GrannyGravy13 Thu 19-Mar-20 12:12:37

What a relief to have the dress Marydoll you really are a star

gillybob Thu 19-Mar-20 11:51:36

GrannyGravy13 Thu 19-Mar-20 11:49:39

Phew Urmstongran pleased to hear from you, I have been popping in to check grin

Well done Mr.U

conor Thu 19-Mar-20 11:48:56

Well done Marydoll Hope you could model it for us!!! Xxx

conor Thu 19-Mar-20 11:47:41

Urmstongran I thought you might have been self isolating from GN?
Good to hear how people are coping in Spain without the need for violence! Lessons to be learnt I think xxxx

Marydoll Thu 19-Mar-20 11:46:22

Jan, what a worry for you. So sorry to hear about your daughter. ????

I bring glad tidings, I have the wedding dress!☺️ DD is delighted and that is all that matters!
I felt as if I was playing hookey out in the real world. ?

Urmstongran Thu 19-Mar-20 11:33:47

X posts Jan16 and whywhywhy I really feel for you both. ?? for each of you. x

What a morning!
My husband and I went to Sainsbury's 6.40 as they said they were opening at 7 am (a 1 hour window earlier) for those most vulnerable to do their shopping.
Well you should have seen it.....queuing was phenomenal and many shelves were not fully stacked. It took longer to get out then pick up what you wanted.
Now the skies are grey with fine drizzly rain - we could do with some blue skies and sunshine to provide some Vitamin D.
One day at a time I guess - keep safe and well all of you.

Urmstongran Thu 19-Mar-20 11:27:27

Finally! A very late good morning everyone from Malaga where we have no sun and it’s chilly. Rain is forecast for the next 5 days. Oh well, as we are on Day 5 of a 15 day lockdown I don’t suppose it matters.

I’m late because the WiFi signal wasn’t active for whatever reason. Hey ho. I’m glad it’s up & running again - it made me realise what a lifeline it is. GN (naturally!) emails to friends and last night’s joy - FaceTime from the 7y old grandson & his (just) 3y old sister. It lifted our spirits for sure.

Himself has just been to the supermarket across the road - first time since Saturday. We only have a fridge with an icebox. He took a list and got everything on it (well done that man) so no need to shop now till Wednesday next week.

He said the queue wasn’t big, it was well spaced, no grabbing of items, piped music playing and well stocked shelves. That’s the way to do it (cried Punch).

I’m another who had Marydoll gillybob and dragonfly on my mind in the wee small hours. So many on here stay in my thoughts during the day.

Hope Thursday is good to us all. Keep safe everyone. x

Good morning all from an overcast mountsorrel.
Well with the school and nursery closures looks like i have a busy time coming up. Daughter starts training next week for a care job, although as my other daughter is already off work as her learning disability unit is already shut i may get help. Another good thing is with the pony so will be able to get the the kids out to burn some energy off while we sort her out.
Went to asda this morning and the shelves are bare.
My mum will be self isolating from the week end and she wants to shop tomorrow before shes stays in and goes stir crazy. But looking at the shops theres nothing. People are so selfish. I have tried buying stuff to help out but its such a struggle poor dd is struggling for nappies.
Good luck to all front line staff. Best wishes and good luck to all with bad times, ill health and other worries we can get through this.

CaroleAnne Thu 19-Mar-20 11:16:03

Sending my best wishes to Mum of Mad Boys Kitty Marydoll and anyone else who is feeling sad at this time.flowers
Gransnet is a wonderful mode of communication that can be shared by everyone. Let us make the most of it and we can all get through this together. United we stand etc etc.
Mick. Do be careful if you must go on the buses. As everyone else is saying wash wash and wash your hands again!!.wine

Jan sorry to hear about your daughter, what a shock it must have been. Hope all goes well with her return. thanks

EllanVannin Thu 19-Mar-20 11:11:55

( rolls eyes ) It's out of our hands, Gillybob. Pc's suddenly gone dyslexic, koff.

Curlywhirly Thu 19-Mar-20 11:09:29

Aw, whywhywhy I sympathise with you, depression is a real bummer, it can be very hard to feel positive at the best of times. Here's hoping that at least the weather will begin to pick up, and you can get a good dose of vitamin D from the sun, a well known pick me up. Sending virtual hugs andthanks

Good Morning All x---------from the Marie Celeste.

Grey sky but it's dry and the sun's trying its best to make an appearance.
It's very still and quiet in this area with very few planes going over to Liverpool airport. That said, a road drill has just fired up near and has broken the silence. At least it's a sign/sound of life.

Just reading that cruises to the Liverpool terminal are cancelled and there are restrictions on hospital visiting in the areas .

D still continues to work as because it's a security job a female has to be present and up to now things are running as normal. For the last 5 weeks she's also been looking after 3 of her GC and we'd arranged for them to come to me for the Easter holidays while she was at work so now those plans have fizzled. Her son will be with them until he goes to work then her changed hours will see her back with them so that they won't be on their own.

Everyone's had to do a reshuffle with their hours I imagine.
I feel utterly helpless whereas I'd have been mucking in, so frustrating but nothing I can do as I think of my own health.

Hoping everyone else in managing under these circumstances, it's going to be tough as the weeks go on. Thoughts to Dragonfly for her final session tomorrow and glad that Marydoll's in one piece after her " experiment "---it was like being back at school in the lab. grin

Gillybob, try not to look too far ahead, this is a day at a time situation. It's out of our hands.xx
I'm going to nip to the local shop for a bag of compost to get ready for planting---for something different to do just to vary things a bit and get me in the garden.

Above all, stay well everyone and " do as you're told " grinxx

nonnasusie Thu 19-Mar-20 10:54:29

Buongiorno from Italy where at least the sun is shining! I thought I would cheer everyone up with this photo. I'm supposed to be washing the kitchen floor but got sidetracked on here?. Hope you all have a good day and keep well.

A late good morning from an overcast mid Notts. A very quick post as I am waiting for my rheumatologist appointment phone call. May we all stay safe and well and have as good a day as possible in these uncertain times x
