This view from part of my morning run.
It's so uplifting to see a clear blue sky and the sun casting it's light over hills and houses, dappling all the new growth with fingers of warmth.
Only saw 2 peeps on other side of river who ? and I did likewise.
Narrow boats and ducks and exercise and sunshine (albeit weak at that time of day)
Life is good. ?

Our local corner shop let me have two containers of milk - normal ration is one per customer - so that I could take them to my neighbour who’s in isolation. Online grocery order arrived with only three substitutions! ? It’s warm enough to open lots of windows and let the breeze cleanse the air!

A lovely thread Gabriella, it does us good to think of the positives in life. ??

You're welcome Judy54
It's been lovely to read all the comments. I think sunshine and washing blowing in the breeze is favourite...as it has been down through the years.
I remember, during my childhood, mum taking washing off the line that was rigid with foggy/ice. It was funny to see shirts stiff as a board that you couldn't possibly bend to put in the clothes basket or on the maiden. ????

An e-mailed photo of my grandson, who is crawling now, getting into mischief. He has upturned the cat's bowl of biscuits for starters. She was not impressed but made me smile.

Yesterday I had a surprise video phone call from all of my children at the same time. There is a programme they used (called Zoom - I think my son recommended it and then my husband set it up) where we could all see and chat to each other at the same time, including my daughter and granddaughter who are in New Zealand. It was just so good to see and hear them all catching up in person rather than on our usual WhatsApp group. I'm still smiling about it today. smile

Chatting to our toddler grandson on FaceTime. He uses sign language a lot and unexpectedly used the sign for friends when he spotted his older cousins!

Also saw our GD enjoying a tiny slice of cake on her first birthday. We were supposed to be there but at least we got to share the moment online.

I too received a lovely bunch of daffs from Sainsbury this morning, cheered me up, so nice of them. smile

My OH went to Sainsbury's this morning and
they were handing out free flowers to older people and Medics in the early morning slot. They had bought so many for Mother's Day and sadly they were not sold. It certainly lifted my spirits and made my day. What a lovely thread Gabriella thank you so much for starting it.

All this sunshine smile

Getting a free bunch of flowers in Asda this morning - staff were giving them away at the door.

My cat, sunning himself on the patio.

Washing blowing on the line.

Pottering about in the garden and greenhouse. Putting in some seeds and putting some plants out in the sunshine to start hardening off.

The news that GS had a brilliant grade in the English exam he took just before school shut. And the fact that the sun is shining!

cornergran Mon 23-Mar-20 12:35:07

A walk in the sunshine along the river. No one about. Bliss

I've just come in from our Close chat. I live in a small Close so the only traffic here is people who live here.
Today 6 of us took a garden chair and a cup of tea down to the end and sat (apart) and put the world to rights.

Getting a Sainsbury's priority delivery slot tomorrow! I have just done my order.

And hanging out the washing for the first time this year on a lovely spring morning.

Happygirl79 Mon 23-Mar-20 10:48:14

Seeing a very young couple deep cleaning the bus shelter nearby to help protect others
It made me tearful

M0nica Mon 23-Mar-20 10:41:44

The bright sunshine and spring flowers.

Franbern Mon 23-Mar-20 10:38:05

Avoiding the News, but lovely seeing blue sky and sunshine. And, Nature is continuing, trees in bud, flowers coming up, birds nesting, squirrels around local park.

Calendargirl Mon 23-Mar-20 10:35:58

Lovely sunny day, two lots of washing blowing in the wind, a good wash day always puts me in a good mood.

Wheniwasyourage Mon 23-Mar-20 10:32:59

The live news stream on the BBC site has an alternative stream of good news with stories of people doing positive and caring things. Cheered me up. sunshine

Reasons to be cheerful 1 2 3
Saw a bumblebee buzzing around my little garden this morning. Hope it finds nourishment somewhere because there's nothing out yet!
The thought that seagulls might revert to their 'proper' feeding grounds now rather than mugging visitors for their chips and ice cream around the harbour. Because there are only a few visitors.
The sun is shining.

GabriellaG54 Mon 23-Mar-20 09:46:23

I agree with all your comments. A dreadful situation and we can be forgiven for being worried and downbeat.
Let's carry on doing our best and taking what small pleasures we can from each day, and we'll hopefully boost our mental health and keep our spirits up.
I tidied my outdoor pots after brekkie and now going to plant herbs in pots.
Enjoy your day, whatever you're up to. ??

Calendargirl Mon 23-Mar-20 08:42:22

This relates to yesterday really, but my amaryllis, which DD who lives in Oz sent to me years ago, came out in beautiful flowers. Just seemed so appropriate for Mothering Sunday.
