I know you can't reply in England but could not assume that the same happened in Scotland.
Had I assumed that Scotland followed the same practices, then someone might have bitten my head off.
There is not a lot of love lost between those two parts of the UK.

Just looked on another site and several people have got texts.

DD works for Royal Mail and says that only those who have not registered with their GP/NHS to receive text messages or emails will get letters. This is to lessen the burden on your postman.

Daddima, it's now called, Greater Glasgow and Clyde.,

Gabriella, you can't reply. If you miss a call about a hospital appointment, you can't reply to that either, you just have to wait for them to call back.

I once got a call in Rome, asking me to confirm that I was attending for my operation the following week. I didn't even know I was having an operation. Most distressing, as I didn't know who had called.?

fourormore my DHs text came from the NHS. It is not a surprise we knew he would be on the list because of his illness.

I don't know about Scotland but texts from many 'official' sources in England do not allow you to reply as they are unmonitored addresses.

I’m in Greater Glasgow health board ( if it’s still called that), and like you, I’ve been staying put anyway. They usually do communicate with me by text, so we’ll see. Let’s see what Boris has to say now!

Correction. some will.

If I ever get a text from hospitals, doctor etc, it comes up as NHS . I can't reply to these texts anyway.

Some areas will get texts and do eveill get letters from GPs first, supposedly sometime this week.

Marydoll Mon 23-Mar-20 20:24:22

Daddima, are you in Scotland? I have had nothing official either, yet I am in the high risk group.
However, I know not to go out anyway.

GabriellaG54 Mon 23-Mar-20 20:24:11

I don't come under that umbrella but I'm glad that I'm not the only one using the words 'selfish' and 'ignorant' to describe those who ignore the guidelines.

You haven't said if you know where the text came from.
We have been warned locally to beware of emails or texts asking you to either click on a link or reply.
I'm not saying your message was dodgy but please everyone- be careful of possible scammers.

Nothing for me.

My DiL has, but I thought it was by letter.

DH had a text earlier saying he is on the list and not to go out at all. Anyone else been contacted?
