Have you tried using lemsips as they contain paracetamol i think. You are not allowed to to take any extra paracetamol whilst using lemsips.

Glad you managed to get some. Suggest you ring GP surgery and ask for some.

I read that, India is not exporting any more paracetamol, in order to preserve the stock for themselves.
UK Govt. has been urging manufactures here to produce it.

I read somewhere that most paracetamol is made in India and their supply is running out, or maybe it's a delivery problem.

Posted before; bought 32 paracetamol at my local pharmacy for £3.62. They are the only painkillers I am allowed, and was suffering raging toothache. Fortunately my dentist saw me the day the surgeries closed and gave me a prescription for anti-biotics which have kicked in now.
If paracetamol is unavailable because it is being diverted to the hospitals that is fair, but I think it is panic buying; ibroprofen is available everywhere.

If you're not able to get paracetamol, lemsip (or equivalent) has 1,000mg in each dose (equal to 2 x 500mg tabs). They might be easier to find.

Elizabeth1, face book is a boon in the current crisis. Lots of humour and local information being shared.

Be careful with compost too, it can cause a bacterial or fungal chest infection. We have had fungus growing in the manure bought from a garden centre.

I got some on Thursday from the pharmacy next to our health centre. No problem, she had plenty.
£1.15 for 32.

Some of our local shops are keeping paracetamol, wipes etc under the counter. You need to ask.

Marydoll Sat 28-Mar-20 19:06:56

fairview, I hope you feel better soon. I'm usually in a similar position at this time of the year.?
Fortunately I have a rescue pack of antibiotics and steroids to keep at home.

I was forced to ask my GP for a prescription for paracetamol to top up my pain relief patches. He was unaware, it was unavailable in our area.

IAm64 we ran out of compost for pot planting and I put a help notice in the Gransnet forum and on my Facebook page before you could hold your breath for 10 seconds I had a kind neighbour drop a bag at the front door for us to help ourselves then we received a delivery from Dobbies . We did very well the plugs are now in our garden pots can’t wait until I see the wee green shoots popping through hurrah hurrah hurrah smile

BlueSky Sat 28-Mar-20 18:58:03

Have you tried on line pharmacies? I've got mine on line as all the shops were hopeless.

Iam64 Sat 28-Mar-20 18:53:59

farview, if you do facebook, there is a local Covid support group on there. It lists local deliveries are available because its proving impossible to register with the supermarkets. The group has a number of volunteers, willing to source and deliver to people in isolation
Get well soon and let us know how you are

GrannyLaine Sat 28-Mar-20 18:53:28

To any others struggling: I take pcm and ibuprofen for pain from arthritis. Both have been in short supply in the supermarket but the in-store pharmacies have always had plenty. Hope you soon feel better farview
