Another moan about husbands - sorry!

I do hope Grandad isn’t lurking to leap onto this thread but I really have to let off steam somehow. I’m in the vulnerable group and my husband is looking after me wonderfully but he’s driving me mad literally!

I made a shopping list and he’s been shopping but decided what he would get, not necessarily what I wanted! He’s now returned and obsessively taking everything out of their packets and rewrapping them in cling film! Biscuits! They’ll all go soft immediately! He insisted on going to Booths which is very expensive compared to Aldi and doesn’t have everything I wanted. I know, I know this is terrible of me moaning about it but he is driving me mad. Please tell me I’m not on my own and I won’t get told off?

I honestly fear that Vrai Papy is no more. The last few posts on the long-suffering (!) Mr.P's cabbage extravaganza sounded like someone different, a Faux Papy. The tone has changed, the pompous little guy has all but disappeared and been replaced by someone a lot younger and who struggles (even more) with grammar in a style which is too modern. That is simply IMO - I do hope I'm wrong because DH and I are in real need of these laughs and a Sunday morning in the sun when he read out all the posts to me, as I sprayed my garden bench with coffee, was a real Covid killer (not literally, unfortunately). Keep it up "Mr P" and TerriBull, but ....... be aware, you are Strong Wimmin, don't be fooled !

I LOVE you women. What a group!

You are so funny you should be writing a comedy series about a pompous little man and his (long-suffering) wife.

Hang on though wasn't there one with Arthur Lowe( aka Captain Mainwaring) called Potter about just such a character?

Perhaps we should re-name our friend "Potter"?

phoenix
Hmmmmm. I think it could count. But you might look a bit of a twit with pearls as well. Unless the t shirt and hoodie are cashmere. Then you would be the epitome of chic.

Davidhs Mon 30-Mar-20 21:02:56

Pearls are good, natural of course, classy.

phoenix Mon 30-Mar-20 21:00:26

Of course! Well, sort of..........blush I don't suppose a t shirt and matching zip up hoodie actually count, do they?

GrannyLaine Mon 30-Mar-20 20:55:48

Hope you're wearing a twinset with those pearls phoenix

phoenix Mon 30-Mar-20 20:44:22

Oh, am I loving this! grin

Do you think he polishes his own brogues, or leaves it to the "little woman" (or "women" as he accidentally? posted once, hence the reference to the Handmaids Tale) a

Tummy tubs and floppy sausages are too much to think of in these circumstances, I'm away to swoon (ladies don't faint, they swoon) possibly clutching my pearls and waving a lace edged, lavender scented hanky.

Harris27 Mon 30-Mar-20 20:21:00

Thanks merlogran just sent that notice to my sister as she’s on her own and glad at the moment!

Davidhs Mon 30-Mar-20 20:13:20

You learn something every day didn’t realized a tummy rub was so appealing, nor would waving a floppy sausage about.

SirChenjin Mon 30-Mar-20 19:53:41

A step too far?

Callistemon Mon 30-Mar-20 19:52:14

I was quite prepared to forgive you until you mentioned the sausage and a tummy rub

SirChenjin Mon 30-Mar-20 19:51:30

Sadly I don’t think he’d let me - I’m on the naughty step being judged by you all grin

Callistemon Mon 30-Mar-20 19:47:37

Are you volunteering? shock

SirChenjin Mon 30-Mar-20 19:46:31

He seems quite settled on the other thread. Do you think he can be lured over here with a sausage and a tummy rub?

Callistemon Mon 30-Mar-20 19:45:34

tantalising snippets such as cleaning out the gutters, where Mrs Grandad plays a pivotal role in shaking the ladder in holding the ladder steady
Actually, I think that makes him a true gentleman.

When DH cleaned out the gutters recently, he got me to stand underneath with a bucket and threw down the wet mossy mud and bushes which had grown in there. Some landed in the bucket, some landed on my head.
My hair has not been the same since.

SirChenjin Mon 30-Mar-20 19:32:46

I’m staying put Callistemon grin

GrannyLaine Mon 30-Mar-20 19:31:32

Luckylegs, he will, believe me , he will. As soon as he gets a whiff......... He will perceive it as his duty.
Terribull you have such a gift.

Callistemon Mon 30-Mar-20 19:30:16

and not only that, he’s leaving it up to other forum members to judge me.
SirChenjin You're indispensable!
grin

Whether your real name is Google, Bing, Yahoo or whatever, we need you

merlotgran Mon 30-Mar-20 19:27:48

TerriBull That's brilliant! grin

Lisagran Mon 30-Mar-20 19:22:36

Superb Terribull - you have him down to a T grin

SirChenjin Mon 30-Mar-20 19:22:33

He’s resurfaced and is back on the other thread - and not only that, he’s leaving it up to other forum members to judge me. I am devastated, as you might imagine.

Ladies, be afraid, be very afraid - him off the haulage trade and his Misandry Rulebook are on their way grin grin

TerriBull Mon 30-Mar-20 19:19:49

SirChenjin, please don't cry, that's the job of the Misandry Officer. Nothing like a good ticking off, to reduce us wimmin' to tears is there?

Curlywhirly Mon 30-Mar-20 19:19:02

TerriBull I know I shouldn't laugh, but ???? you really do have a way with words!

SirChenjin Mon 30-Mar-20 19:15:14

I’m crying with laughter here TerriBull grin - you’re very wicked but you’ve absolutely nailed the Misandry Official grin

Grandmafrench Mon 30-Mar-20 19:07:08
