A little bit of toast

Being at home most of the time, when not out for a walk or gardening does seem to be making us both hungrier than usual ( not a good thing!) and DH says ( with halo on)When I am making a cup of tea ‘no biscuit for me thanks......I’ll just have a little bit of toast’ !!
Anyone else experiencing the need for a snack??

I may run round the garden now to get rid of that biscuit I just ate (healthy homemade but approximately 100 cals)

You're right Urmstongran, positive thinking is the only way!

Tedd1 Thu 02-Apr-20 11:18:56

I must be stressed as eating all the time. Frightened to get on the scales (hobbies don't help) !

double the calories!

Ah no Chewbacca give your head a wobble. It’s double the VITAMINS!

Definitely on the gain weight wise. Not used to having lunch but don't seem to be able to do without now also cuppas with biscuits. Even started having a few snacks with my glass of wine before dinner. Oh dear, what with no trips to the hairdresser, no manicures and soon no clothes that will fit I'm going to be a real treat when this finally ends.

I’m with merlot on that - I’d be snacking on the furniture too! ?

I actually feel fatter these days. It hangs around my midriff. We are eating quite well but probably too well. I suppose the thinking is that we can't get out and about and lead our normal lives but at least we can have good grub and treats. (Suppresses small burp)

I have 3 grandsons 8, 4, and 20 months and they are eating non stop

2 slices of toast and marmalade for breakfast. When my favourite brand is not available have found experimenting with other brands is fun. Now have more than one favourite. My cupboard is well stocked.

Cake cake cake. We cant stop treating ourselves just now. I have cup cakes waiting for this afternoons treat.

DH going out shortly to pick up our click & collect from Asda. Items include several treats, which I normally dont order. Doing more comfort eating. Definitely eating more snacks between meals and drinking more tea.

Now you're talking Callistemon! mmmm!

Raisin bread toasted

Just sent DD a shopping list of 'essentials'. It included a 12 pack of crisps, salted cashews and caster sugar for all the extra baking!
My breakfast this morning was 2 cheese and ham toasties blush
What else is there to look forward to?

Pop the peanut butter toast back under the grill just till it’s warmed through and faintly melty. Yum!

Chewbacca Thu 02-Apr-20 09:36:55

Is that right merlot? About the sprinkle of salt stopping the clagginess? I've got an ancient jar of the stuff in the fridge, I'll give it a go.

Witzend Thu 02-Apr-20 09:36:14

Yes! Chocolate was not a regular thing before, but a big bar of Fruit and Nut is regularly going in with other ‘essentials’ now.
And I hardly ever buy biscuits (because I will just eat the lot) but dh and I scoffed most of a packet of chocolate digestives last night.
I’m surprised there are any left TBH.
It’s only after dinner that I get a real urge for ‘something nice’.

Toast and Marmite for breakfast. Looove Marmite.

merlotgran Thu 02-Apr-20 09:29:44

A tiny sprinkle of salt stops peanut butter sticking to the roof of your mouth.

Auntieflo Thu 02-Apr-20 08:46:48

I am with you there Chewbacca. Really can't eat peanut butter.
Now, if it's my friends homemade Japonica Jam, that's another story. I've only got 3/4 of a jar left, so it's being rationed.

Chewbacca Thu 02-Apr-20 08:42:33

I'm surprised so many like peanut butter on their toast! I like the idea of peanut butter but I actually find it a bit claggy. Marmite is best with cheese on toast. Double the calories!

BlueSky Thu 02-Apr-20 08:36:31

Same here Merlot marmite for breakfast, peanut butter for supper and plain toast in the afternoon after our daily walk!

travelsafar Thu 02-Apr-20 08:32:10

I find I am missing lunch most days just like Pikachu. We are also eating our evening meal later in the day than normal which helps cut out evening snacks. Still not noticed much on the scales though hmm

merlotgran Thu 02-Apr-20 08:30:12

I've just weighed myself and I've lost 2lbs. How the heck did that happen?

I'll celebrate with an extra slice of toast. I fancy Marmite this morning. Peanut butter is better for a midnight feast.

Chewbacca I laughed out loud too. I've eaten the penguin bars from the GC's treat tin grin
