I really think a pangolin take over would be very good for us.

It's biblical. There are too many of us on the Earth so Him up There has sent the Coronavirus to thin us out. We've already had floods and forest fires and we'll be getting a plague of locusts very soon.

Quizqueen Yes, it is as convincing as the conspiracy theory that the toxin that nearly killed the Scripals in Salisbury, was a release, accidental or not, from Porton Down.

This is not the first time that viruses have been the result of transfer between animals and human at live markets. It is how Ebola disease and several other equally deadly diseases that have evolved in Africa came into being, or do the Chinese have laboratories in Sierra Leone and the Congo?

Whatever the truth is, the facts are...
a) There is a lab not far from the wet market which studies viruses in Wuhan
b) The Chinese government are often sparing with the truth
c) Bats are in no way to blame for this virus, it is human interaction with them which has put us in danger.

It's obviously the wrath of Khan.

I think there was an accident at the virology lab in Wuhan. Apparently they were using bats for experiments. I have never believed the Pangolin theory.

I think SPECTRE is behind it. I'm sure Bond is somewhere glamourous making love to beautiful women, shooting bad guys and soon will be going into space in order to destroy seeding orbs that are spreading the infection in the atmosphere (a la Moonraker).

I enjoy conspiracy theories-

Those that have been proven are far and few between, otherwise they're elaborate, imaginative story-telling- And depending on who is doing the telling, can be incredibly engaging-

My theory on the coronavirus: Back in December Kim Jong-un promised to give President Trump a Christmas gift- Christmas came and went and no gift was given to the President from the North Korean leader - Or so Trump thought- The gift might have been this virus-

N. Korea hasn't reported any cases of coronavirus, but has requested test kits and medical supplies- The WHO is providing support -

Then in March satellite images were shared exclusively with NPR that showed N Korea expanding a launch site facility that it promised to close-

The gift was the virus, to act as a distraction, weaken people and economies prior to a planned attack-

I'm sure a better story teller could do the above theory justice

It is Mother Nature fighting back! Reduce the pollution and overpopulation at the same time. Our two biggest problems.??

I need to have my son as a GN member everything that goes on or goes wrong in the world he has his best answer which is do not listen to all those government stories etc, it is all a Big Conspiracy to frighten the people seems like he has got some like minded people on here.

Going by experience in the past and scientific records, viruses don't NEED to evolve and spread the way these conspiracy theories are suggesting. Even human DNA has combined in it the DNA from other organisms from way, way back. That happened naturally, without the aid of prehistoric germ warfare experts plotting world domination.

Don't bother worrying yourself by believing any of the theories that are "going viral". Every time some big health event occurs, people's imagination runs riot - if they are not blaming it on power-mad scientists, they are claiming that it is God's punishment for our wickedness.

I have better things to do with life, even in confinement, watch paint dry , for example than spend time endlessly reading about corona virus online.

The only fake news I heard, and it was described as that, was in the print media and that claimed that the the virus was developed and released by the US, as counter propaganda to the Chinese.

It would be good if the link to bats meant this country became a little more sensible about bat colonies.

I read that somewhere Firecracker sounds plausible.
We will never know of that I am sure.
