Good Morning Everyone,
Its twilight outside and its dry, expecting the weather to warm a little here in Brackley .
Will get in the que and get some basic items today for the rest of the week .
I am slowly starting to compile what i need and what I do not.

Receptionist phoned back to say the Chemist isn't answering their phone. They must be busy!!!! Funny that.
She asked if I have anyone who could collect it? Well, when I last went there, a couple of weeks ago, there was a queue for over an hour, outside. I told her I don't know anyone who I could ask to do that for me but if it doesn't arrive by tonight, I may ask.

.

Marydoll, many thanks, arranged delivery on Sunday.

Kalu Fri 03-Apr-20 11:39:54

That does sound good Grammaretto. Hope the penicillin does the trick? Stay safe as you plod on through this surreal, life as we know it at the moment.

Marydoll Fri 03-Apr-20 11:37:22

Grammaretto, there aren't enough hours in the day for me!
I'm used to being stuck in!!!
I'm so glad you contacted your dentist!

Grammaretto Fri 03-Apr-20 11:32:08

I phoned the Dentist. He's closed but he's there so is posting penicillin to my local chemist who will deliver it! Sounds good.

Sorry you are still suffering Gilly. It's not what you want when you are isolating.

It may be fine to begin with Marydoll but the cabin fever sets in after a while........ DH isn't dressed yet.

Good morning all from a greyish/bright Glasgow where thankfully the wind has dropped to a calmer day.

Went to collect new scripts for both of us yesterday at our local privately owned pharmacy. One person only allowed in with a floor marker to wait for collection. I have used this pharmacy for years and the owner and staff who are so helpful we’re pleased to accept my individually wrapped box of chocolates and a huge thank you from us. Such a lovely bunch of,people, still welcoming all with a cheery hope you are doing ok and take care. All very quiet at our local shops with what few people were out, smiled but keeping a very safe distance from one another.

Grammaretto. No home remedies this time?. It’s essential now to phone your dentist as you may also need antibiotics to ward off infection.

A good day for gardening to keep me busy and plenty fresh air until I run out of energy?. Windows open to air the house too.

A warm welcome to all newbies?
BlueSaphire a very poignant day for you?

Hope everyone has the best day possible doing whatever gets you through the day.

Good morning everyone. Sun has just shone its face here on the river. As usual on a Friday I will take the toilet cassette on my wagon to empty...oh joy. I have not spoken to anyone in a week. I will probably go to the village shop. Out of mushrooms...needed for the pasta later. Later I will work on my quilt. I think I will sit in the cratch and sew...the river birds will come and visit wanting a tasty snack.... Have a lovely day everyone. Remember...there is an end to this so think positive and smile.

Thankyou, Marydoll, will give it a try, believe it or not I was trying in bed at 6.30 !! How sadisthat??

Marydoll Fri 03-Apr-20 10:42:51

Megs, someone told me to go onto Iceland at 12noon.
They start releasing vulnerable slots then .
At 12:10, a number of slots appeared! I couldn't believe my eyes.

Megs36 Fri 03-Apr-20 10:32:42

Marydoll, pleased you got an Iceland slot, I’ve been on Iceland and Tesco, also ‘vulnerable’list but not moving, in fact can’t find the list on Tesco.to tick for us. Tell me the secret!!

gillybob Fri 03-Apr-20 10:19:20

Well I wrote a long winded Good Morning about 20 minutes ago and it seems to have blown away in the wind........... probably for the best grin

So take 2.......Good morning from the NE coast where the sun is trying hard to get out . I have got some washing to hang out yippeee (what a treat) and then I shall have another cup of tea.

So sorry to hear you have swollen face Grammaretto . Is is a tooth do you think? I hope you can get sorted. I’m supposed to be seeing a specialist on 29th April but not sure if it will go ahead. My sinus’s are permanently blocked and very painful and I can’t lie on my left side . The swelling is not as bad as it was but under my eye is very puffy and it throbs terrible .

There was smell of gas in my kitchen yesterday (DH insisted there wasn’t but there most definitely was ) which seems to be coming from one of the burners on my hob . Switched the gas off as a precaution .Not sure what to do really . Can’t do without a hob . When it rains it lashes down !

I clapped for the carers last night too. Lots of noise, ships horns, fireworks ...amazing .

A sad day for you BlueSapphire .Do have that glass of fizz as you remember all of the lovely times you shared. flowers

I’m loving the puzzles Marydoll keep them coming . smile

Will go back and catch up with this thread in a while. So many lovely and interesting posts to read I’m gonna need another cuppa.

Have a good whatever day it is today everyone .

love Gillybob xx

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Auntieflo Fri 03-Apr-20 09:40:21

Morning Michael, Annie, and all.
Bit dull outside and looks as though there is a bit of a breeze.
DH was up earlier to make tea and empty the dishwasher, so I shall be finding his inspired places to put things that I will be looking for.
As usual, nothing planned, again, just potter on and something turns up.
Mustn't do any more baking, as the tin is full and also the freezer.
At least I will have something on a plate for our family Zoom get together on Sunday. Fancy crockery is on order, so I have said to get extra points a knitted tea cosy is also required ?.
Do I have one? Oh yes!
At our end of the road, we were all out again clapping for the NHS and essential services. Last week, the little lad, across the road, broke his mum's wooden spoon in his enthusiasm.
Had some lovely phone calls yesterday, it is much nicer than emailing.
Will pop back later to see how the Gillybob's are.
To all who have anniversaries, birthdays, or other notable days flowers wine. Also to those who are self isolating ?
Take care and stay safe one and all.

Good morning Michael and all GNs from, as Maple says, a very grey South Yorkshire. We were supposed to be going walking today but DH is now on the shielded list, so that has knocked that on the head. The walk was the only thing that differed from our pre-shielded existence as DD has been insisting for three weeks that we do not to go near a shop of any kind, so we haven’t. We clapped for the NHS with our neighbours last night, one of whom is shielding like DH. We had a short conversation across the road. Ah well, needs must when the devil drives, as they say. The garden will never have had so much attention!
Welcome Anne9054 and Netty. Have the best day you can folks.

CherryCezzy Fri 03-Apr-20 09:37:05

Good morning everyone from the Gower. Cloudy and chilly here but trying to brighten up, bit like me.
Welcome to GN Anne and Netty.
Poignant day for you BlueSapphire ?
Another day in 'high security'. I too slept late this morning Pittcity. I do think that doing less has strange effects. To coin a phrase, without the expletive, from Janis Joplin 'its all the same day man'.
I am definitely going to get on with my non work of art art work today as I can't seem to stir myself for too much physical today. Perhaps later on I'll have more energy hmm.
Be kind to yourselves and stay safe everyone ❤️

moggie Fri 03-Apr-20 09:34:00

Good morning Mick & all from cloudy Nottingham.
Zumba gold on Zoom at 10.15 am will get me moving.
Welcome Anne9054 & netty
I will raise a glass to you this evening Bluesapphire
Take care all & stay safe.
Hope you’re ok Gillybob thinking of you flowers.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from a grey mid-Notts. I am just awaiting my sainsbury's delivery - most of what I ordered was in stock and what wasn't was replaced by sensible substitutions. I found yesterday I couldn't settle at anything - today is a new day though. Stay safe everyone and hope Friday is kind to us all x

Largolass Fri 03-Apr-20 09:32:01

Good Morning from Fife where the sun is shining and the sea is a delightful shade of blue. Should be waking up in sunny Spain but not to be meantime. Thinking of Urmston as I love that area.
Nothing exciting planned just some laundry to do and an Easter card to write for GS in Holland. Will take a walk over the deserted golf course later that's my daily exercise

whywhywhy Fri 03-Apr-20 09:23:48

Good morning from a grey but dry Market Harborough.
Sending love and hugs to all who are suffering illness or depressed or just fedup. Stay safe and strong x

Pittcity Fri 03-Apr-20 09:15:35

Good morning from a grey Colchester. I slept late this morning. All this doing nothing is exhausting.
Shopped in a quiet Lidl yesterday and got supplies for a week. Very odd chatting to the cashier through a screen.
Joined family online for a YouTube pub quiz after the applause. I am chatting to distant family much more often than usual....

Curlywhirly Fri 03-Apr-20 08:53:16

Good morning from a dull, grey Cheshire. Went to Morrisons yesterday; as I was early (8.15am) I didn't have to wait long to get in, or at the tills. Got everything I needed, they even had toilet rolls (which I didn't buy, as I have some already). I did feel a little worried about being out and about though, whereas last week's supermarket shop didn't concern me at all; it all must be getting to me. I wore protective gloves, and wonder whether I should make myself a couple of face masks, after all, I have plenty of time! Going to have a clear out of my bedside drawer today, it's full to brimming of allsorts of rubbish (mainly interesting travel articles I have torn out of newspapers!), suppose it will take me hours as no doubt I will be re-reading them all?

Welcome to the newbies and hope everyone has a good day.

mancgirl Fri 03-Apr-20 08:52:16

Good morning from a grey Manchester. The day feels a bit flat, like me actually?. Had zoom time with 2 of my close girlfriends yesterday afternoon. After a few false starts we all got on and were so excited, we constantly talked over each other. Devised a hold your hand up system when you needed to jump in. Gave a few laughs and then we settled onto normal conversation. Agree to do it next time with a glass of something in hand?. Few chores this morning, planning a long walk this afternoon. Missing my gym sessions but can't motivate myself at home. Need to give my head a wobble! Urmston if Vino Sol is chavvy try some Liria. Cheap as chips. Hello newbies. ((((hugs.)))) flowersfor us all. It's been a tough week.

NanKate Fri 03-Apr-20 08:52:04

BlueSapphire I too will join you in a drink tonight. ??

NanKate Fri 03-Apr-20 08:50:17

Good morning Mick and All.

As Larry Grayson would almost say ‘what a grey day’ here in South Bucks.

At 8.00 last night I heard some of my neighbours clapping and as I opened the window I could hear clapping from all around the valley, it was very moving, so of course I joined in.

Planning on sitting in the garden this weekend maybe even take a picnic ??
