Now people are presenting tv from home we get a look at their homes .
Do they read all those books ? Who chooses a blank background ?
I confess to loving that glimpse of their homes . I shouldn’t be so nosey should I ?

Here you are + some of the remarks on Twitter.

oh, I will try tomorrow, thank you.

Please don't let them be like mine .....

All you have to do is ask Google via voice recognition on your mobile.
I've just said 'Michael Gove's curtains' and a pic came up immediately.
They're truly awful?

Callistemon Tue 07-Apr-20 23:18:38

I can't find anything - what were they like?

JoyBloggs Tue 07-Apr-20 23:13:32

Callistemon shock

I missed the curtains, I wonder if I can find them in a clip.

Hope they're not the same as mine!!

One of the Points West presenters was interviewed in her lovely, immaculate kitchen by her co-presenter who was in the studio.

He said 'I've never seen your kitchen look so tidy, Alex'!

grin

Steph McGovern...

GabriellaG54 Tue 07-Apr-20 22:57:01

Steph ? the Yorkshire lass, BBC presenter etc who recently had a baby, is WFH and admitted (albeit stretching the truth a bit IMO) scrubbing her kitchen floor and cleaning the whole place, before showing the results of her efforts to us through the 5 strategically placed cameras filming the prog robotically, from a crew inside her garage.
Nowt special.
I like a house to be homey, not as if you can't lean on a cushion and best if all, if there's a bit of baking in the oven and kettle boiling...???☕???

I saw an interview with someone today, can't remember who, but did love her wallpaper.

I've got a pristine kitchen at the moment. No GC charging through it dripping orange juice or milkshakes all over the floor. No banana skins left to go black on the worktop. No toast or biscuit crumbs on the chairs and floors. And no cake mixture splattered up the tiles from children's home baking sessions. I hate it. sad

Roses Tue 07-Apr-20 21:55:12

All those pristine kitchens........ I think they have had their cleaners in!!!

JoyBloggs Tue 07-Apr-20 21:46:37

I'm beginning to feel quite guilty about my new hobby of house-snooping... all these kind people working from home to keep us informed/entertained and revealing their taste in furnishings. Perhaps I need to get out more... but I guess that won't be for quite a while confused

JoyBloggs Tue 07-Apr-20 21:38:46

SueDonim Sorry, hadn't seen your post about Mr Gove's curtains... think I must have been slow writing my last post and didn't refresh. Glad you saw them! grin

SueDonim Tue 07-Apr-20 21:18:09

Yes, I did, JoyBloggs, see my earlier post! grin

merlotgran Tue 07-Apr-20 20:43:28

It's better than Through the Keyhole.

Chewbacca Tue 07-Apr-20 20:41:07

It's the picture frames at a cock skewed angle that irritate me. I want to reach out and straighten them up!

JoyBloggs Tue 07-Apr-20 19:34:53

SueDonim and Charleygirl
Did you see Michael Gove's curtains today?

JoyBloggs Tue 07-Apr-20 19:30:55

Yes, I agree, must take care of public image! I will have to smarten myself up by Tuesday... have become a bit scruffy casual of late. May need to attack my fringe with the kitchen scissors. And I'll definitely have to do a trial run and make sure I'm not revealing too much clutter in the background...

Callistemon Tue 07-Apr-20 19:24:30

I bet I would envy some of your kitchens.

Mine is on hold now.

SueDonim Tue 07-Apr-20 19:21:15

Michael Gove’s curtains today look like something from the 1980’s, Charliegirl. grin

Callistemon Tue 07-Apr-20 19:16:57

Yes, that as well!
grin

Cava just doesn't hack it

Callistemon Tue 07-Apr-20 19:15:40

I'd have to borrow the DC's trophies as I don't think I ever won one myself.
They can't take after me, can they!
And am hopeless at flower arranging.
Now, I must go through the books and weed out all the ones which are not intellectual.

I would drink the Y'Quem first.
Dutch courage

GabriellaG54 Tue 07-Apr-20 19:13:59

*d'Yquem. No good at French.

GabriellaG54 Tue 07-Apr-20 19:10:17

I'll have to borrow some trophies and medals to display on my bookshelves alongside some freshly cut flowers in my best vase. Maybe a bottle of Y'Quem in the ice-bucket or is that too pretentious...???
