Evening all!

Well, I'm part of the way there!

As I wasn't able to go to the salon for waxing (facial, anything "down below" can damn well wait, not that I bother much anyway)

I can't see well enough without my glasses to do my eyebrows, so they will have to continue on their mission to win a Dennis Healy lookalike competition, BUT!

The facial hair removing cream has been delivered!

To be honest, it was a bit of a toss up between ordering that or some moustache wax, and experimenting with either the Hercule Poirot or the Salvador Dali look, but I think that may have been a little de trop for our village confused

So, tomorrow morning, the bathroom door will be locked, and hopefully I will emerge looking fit to be seen in polite society, not that I can actually go out, and even if I could, not sure I would ever qualify for "polite" society, especially after what happened on Friday blush .............

That would raise the statistics on how many GN posters are men, which would please some people.

MissAdventure Mon 13-Apr-20 21:18:59

I'm thinking I may have to start identifying as a man.

Balding: check.
Beard: check.
Voice: been told my voice sounds as if it belongs to someone emerging from under a manhole cover.

Elegran Mon 13-Apr-20 21:15:03

Why not give up on the epilation front and just tie on a pretty ribbon, like Trickywoo? It would save a fortune!

Chewbacca Mon 13-Apr-20 21:09:09

Erm.... well..... a little bit. blush

Elegran Mon 13-Apr-20 21:06:19

Does your username reflect your appearance, Chewbacca?

Chewbacca Mon 13-Apr-20 20:55:14

I haven't got a deep voice Elegran, honestly.

Elegran Mon 13-Apr-20 20:52:07

But there are a few posters who seem to have more testosterone than oestrogen, in spite of their feminine presentation.

Elegran Mon 13-Apr-20 20:50:55

I think I'm safe, Phoenix

Chewbacca Mon 13-Apr-20 20:09:48

Uh oh! So might there have been a different reason as to why I was walking like John Wayne for a fortnight? Nothing to do with Immac? I'm really a.......... man? ?

phoenix Mon 13-Apr-20 19:50:32

Elegran do go ever feel the urge to stand up to pee? Is so, and you actually do, is your aim spot on? Do you leave your socks on the floor? Do you expect items that you are looking for to jump up and say "Coo eee! Here I am!"

if the answer to the above questions is "NO", then don't worry, you are definitely not turning into a man.

Hope this helps.

Callistemon Mon 13-Apr-20 19:45:15

My head hair is very thick, my facial hair needs controlling.
However, mid parts seem to have become much less hairy until I get to my legs. I used not to notice until lockdown because I could get them waxed.
grin

Elegran Mon 13-Apr-20 19:39:02

30 years after menopause, 15 of those during and after courses of Tamoxifen and other oestrogen inhibitors, I certainly don't have increased facial hair or decreased head hair, and I don't think I am turning into a man. If anyone notices any significant signs of that, please do tell me!

Elegran Mon 13-Apr-20 19:34:10

No, reverse that, they should all be like werewolves!

Elegran Mon 13-Apr-20 19:32:50

If that is the case, those who have had ten years of anti-oestrogen drugs after breast cancer surgery to discourage a repeat should all be bald?

GabriellaG54 Mon 13-Apr-20 18:44:33

I did. I thought that when oestrogen declines and testosterone does not, that that may be the reason for more noticeable/ unwanted facial hair.

phoenix Mon 13-Apr-20 17:51:45

Who mentioned hormone imblance???confused

SirChenjin Mon 13-Apr-20 17:48:40

Mine too - thinning hair is not something I have to worry about.

phoenix Mon 13-Apr-20 17:45:36

Sorry to bust your theory GabriellaG54 the hair on my head is very thick and grows like a weed! Getting tempted to order one of those thinning/stripping combs that dog groomers use confusedgrin

GabriellaG54 Mon 13-Apr-20 17:38:08

I can't have much testosterone as I have no facial or underarm hair at all but very thick head hair.
Is there no medication that can stop the hormone imbalance?
Maybe thinning head hair plus excess facial hair means you are turning into men...??

Callistemon Mon 13-Apr-20 13:55:31

grin
Shall I try it, we just got a bottle in our delivery. For DH not me, I don't like it.

Alishka Mon 13-Apr-20 13:51:26

Callistemon, first reading I thought you were recommending SALAD creamgrin

SirChenjin Mon 13-Apr-20 12:46:40

I used the one for facial hair and sensitive skin too...

I know I sound like an absolute doom-monger but just be aware phoenix that if you do use it and it all goes horribly wrong like mine did you’ll be looking at a trip to the Drs/A&E/out of hours to get it treated - and these are not places you want to be at this time.

sodapop Mon 13-Apr-20 12:35:03

I have used depilatory creams on my face for years with no problem. I always buy one that is specifically for facial hair and use Savlon cream afterwards.
My daughter bleaches her facial hair, again with a product specifically for this not Domestos Good luck Phoenix

M0nica Mon 13-Apr-20 11:06:45

Since all I get is strong dark hairs, electrolysis is the only solution.

Chewbacca Mon 13-Apr-20 11:05:48

I remember that Elegran and it was hilariously funny! Think I'll revisit it today.

Phoenix please, do be careful. It's savage stuff.
