Artdecogran. Should your tricky sandwich making/eating ever compel you to look for a 'plastic bib with a trough at the bottom' .........they are called Pelican Bibs !

Laughed at your post. Each action describes how my poor brain struggles to cope with all unnecessary hand washing - and fails every time. Simple tasks can take forever. ( Still, a couple more months and I'm sure I'll get the hang of it.)

Ellen, why is making a cheese sandwich serious? I am a widow and live on my own. I have 2 out of 3 dear daughter in laws who work on the frontline in NHS hospitals. I have a dear son who works on public transport. I have a new grandson born by caesarean on 2 April, still waiting to see if he and his mother have escaped the virus. I am crippled with pain and trying to cope without any assistance. I would like to curl up and die in a corner but I am trying very very hard to keep my chin up and keep going. I just tried to think of something amusing to share. Perhaps it was stupid and futile. So I’ll say no more and go and cry in my little corner.

Artdecogran don’t you dare go into a corner! Keep on posting. It’s cheered us all up. Doom and gloom might be around the corner, but we need light relief where we can find it.

Artdecogran DH asked if there was any chocolate in the house and I told him it was self-isolating with the other shopping on one side of the cupboard!

However, I reckoned that, as it arrived on Friday, it was safe to eat and I let him have some. I'm very kind (thought he may have forgotten it).

Congratulations too on your new grandson. I have one too, born just after yours also by C section, so I understand and share your anxiety. These are very strange and difficult times.

Wow, Calli what well turned out babies you had! A dickie bib is a collar and fake shirt front to tuck inside a jumper or suit jacket (I think). A pelican bib is for non well turned out little people who spill everything down their fronts whilst learning to feed themselves/throw food ! ?

Yes definitely a pelican bib for me too. I can't eat a meal without dropping some thing down my front. Soup and gravy are real danger zones for me.

My danger zone seems to be the bosom while brushing my teeth. A bib would definitely help.

So pleased we resolved that. The plan is:
Big post lockdown meal where food lovers can get together.
I shall bring a van load of pelican bibs in co-ordinating colours (natch!). Also some very large napkins for tying around the neck for all those bringing bosoms. As a non food thrower, Beechnut you are very welcome but may need a dust sheet ? Sodapop gets to sit far away from any soup or gravy. ArtD won’t do the catering since we may not live that long and anyway, like MM she will be too busy entertaining new ? baby! How wonderful, Congratulations! Calli ( she who knows lots about posh babies) can oversee the bun fight/select gathering. I shall put it in the diary. Maybe Soop’s kitchen will have a table.
