DIRECTIONS

Add the olive oil and the butter to a hot 12 inch frying pan, that has a tight fitting lid, and sir until melted.
Add the onion and saute until transparent, followed by the drained mushrooms and continue to saute the mixture.
Add the curry powder and spam and when the spam starts to brown, add the rice and stir until all the grains are covered in the oil/butter.
Might cause a buying spell in supermarkets
Mick

Wish I could remember the number of the house. There was some open ground to the left of it (as you faced it) but further up the road.
Sue Smith and Margaret Corlett were my housemates.

WHY would anyone want to eat that? There isn't a shortage of food anywhere, is there?

GabriellaG54 Mon 20-Apr-20 20:14:33

No, maybe Mick is trying out various dishes to use up tins of food he's bought during lockdown.

Not my type of food but all power to his elbow as he certainly looks after himself properly and appears to like cooking.

Quick,Curry
2 tbs coriander powder
3/4 tbsp Cummin powder
1 tsp (teaspoon) chilli powder
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp Garam masala (recipe below)
1 tbsp ginger/garlic paste
2 tbsp chopped tomatos
Heat oil, add chopped onions, fried till transparent, then g/g paste, chopped tomatos, fry for about 2 mins on LOW HEAT, then all above ground spices with 1/4 cup hot water and fry for another minute or two. Add your meat or if you're a vegetarian, add vegetables. Coat well with the 'masala' in the pan and stir well for another couple of minutes. Add 2 cups hot water, cover and cook on low heat till done.
Enjoy!!!

I'll try the veggie version but first have to buy some of the spices.
What veggies will work best with it? ?

crazyH Mon 20-Apr-20 20:35:10

You can use mixed frozen veg, if you don't mind frozen. If not, potatos and peas/green beans ...aubergine. You can use hard boiled eggs (Ofcourse, not if you're a vegan )

Thanks for that crazyH ??️?
No not vegan. Love dairy too much.
Looking for and experimenting with different spices will keep me busy this week.
