Thank you for the responses! I neglected to mention that all 3 grands have computers, not iPads or phones which was one of the problems I ran into trying to find card games online. Many of the sites were apps for iPads or phones. But will check out all the suggestions here.

My family in the US have persuaded me to join "Board Game Arena". I've only just joined so I haven't been able to check which games they have. It doesn't cost anything, except for one participant who has to join as a Premium member ($4 or €4 per month, I think they said).

Trickster cards app.
You can just join games and leave them any time or you can practise against the computer or you can make up a four if you know people already. We’ve done that a few times.

I have been looking for this for my mother in law to play bridge. It seems with that you have tournaments online but I can’t find easy play inexpensive packages where you get to play with people you know in real life.

I would also like online games as you describe biebz and hope someone out there knows some.

I am trying to find an online 500 rummy card game online to play long distance with grands in Chicago. Any body know of a site I can use, if not, any other children card game we can play, ex. Uno? All the sites I have found are more adult oriented. Not having any luck. Thanks for your help.
