Shocked to hear about your neighbour Marydoll. What on earth motivates people like that! He's going to feel a lot of cold shoulder once all of this is over. Makes me glad to live in rural isolation.

Good morning from mid-Northumberland where the sun is shining in a broad blue sky. ?

Hi to all from a dismal Godalming ??
Rain has eased off although I got soaked during my run at 05.30. It always pumps me full of energy for the day ahead so, after my shower and before breakfast I properly cleaned all the glass tables and mirrors and inside windows then damp wiped the storage boxes under my bed (4)
Ate granola yogurt banana and raspberries for brekkie then had conversation with Thames Water about their c**p 'new' website and reducing my DD.
I did praise and thank the CS lady I spoke with as it's the suits who are utterly rubbish.
Put finishing touches to tomorrow's Sainsos delivery and now feel like eating a meal EllanVannin once described...mashed potato, crispy bacon and cabbage (with fat from bacon drizzled over the mash)
Why? I've no idea.
Ladies, we are beginning to see chinks of light, some small businesses have received their funding and Spain has started the trend. Oldies out from 9-2 and children from 4-9pm.
30 minutes for breakfast eaten in cafes and 90 mins for dinner. All this can be read in news (Mailonline)
Yippee!! I can hear Urmstongran dancing from here.
Keep safe, obey the rules and look forward to normality... or some semblance of it.
Best wishes for a better day to everyone ???????

Good morning from soggy Devon, I haven't been outside my front door this morning but everywhere is damp, not raining now but very grey, forecast is for some sun this afternoon not holding my breath

Back to painting my bedroom today, all ready to start except taking blind down. I'm slowly motivating myself but I'm also expecting Pharmacy delivery this morning

Marydoll I'll lend you my DD to deal with your neighbourgrin

Wishing all wellflowers

GabriellaG54 Tue 28-Apr-20 10:59:41

I hope the spray works for you Marydoll
I am a very sceptical person and was determined not to be affected ie: fall asleep, on the first occasion I used it.
Sadly, I remember waking up but not falling asleep.
I often tend to read or watch YouTube and iPlayer until the early hours but a small spritz stopped all that malarky. 15 mins and I'm out.
Do just spritz once on the side of the pillow you face towards as it's wasted in the middle where your head lies.
I first found it in the 2018 M&S Advent calendar box (still not finished the box contents)

Good morning all from a wet Glasgow. Pleased it rained overnight to soak the garden as the soil was bone dry and I can no longer dig/fork it over but I will manage with a trowel now.

A neighbour’s beautiful Maine Coon visited again this morning. It seems very friendly but shy.
Poor Dexter and poor you too Dragonfly with all the responsibility and upset in your hands.

Good luck for Sunday Urmstongran I would imagine it may feel quite strange being ‘set free’ but will help you feel more positive.

Your idiot neighbour has succeeded in his plan to upset you and others Marydoll however, he has done his worst now, no more he can do except feel smug at what he has achieved! Please don’t let him win and allow him to rule your life as he hopes. As you are shielding, continue having your family arriving with shopping and also chatting with your neighbours. Nothing you or they have done broke the guidelines ?to him and you must not allow this idiot to feel he has any control over the whole street. Stay strong, your day will come at some point. In the meantime, don’t allow this negativity into your head or home to upset you. Taking care of yourself and DH is your priority.

Although lockdown can be difficult, I feel it’s the least I can do to ease the pressure for our NHS by not giving them yet another patient to care for.

Have the best day you can everyone.

GabriellaG54 Tue 28-Apr-20 11:27:54

I'd like to give that nosey neighbour a Glesga kiss. ?

Kalu Tue 28-Apr-20 11:39:59

That should do it Gabriella ?

Marydoll Tue 28-Apr-20 11:44:09

I wouldn't do that. We suspect he is a member of Her Majesty's Constabulary, we can't prove it, as he is so secretive and has never interacted with any neighbours, either that or he is on a witness protection programme! wink.
There are all sorts of conspiracy theories going about. ?
He gives me the creeps!

mrswoo Tue 28-Apr-20 11:52:49

Good Morning from a dry, fairly bright Newcastle although it could probably rain later.
Just had a virtual Slimming World group meeting which motivates DH and I to keep on keeping on trying to loose weight.
Yesterday I had to do a big Tesco shop and felt quite apprehensive as I haven’t been near a supermarket for at least a month. In actual fact it all went smoothly - they were incredibly well organised and the staff were smiley and helpful. I really appreciate everything they are doing to keep us safe in-store. The only downside were the few customers who forgot to keep their distance but on the whole it was a very positive and reassuring experience.

Dragonfly fingers crossed for Dexter poor wee fella.
Gingster it sounds as if your DH has had excellent treatment from the NHS and continues to make good progress.
Marydoll what can I say - what a nasty piece of work your neighbour is. When all this is over and you and your fellow neighbours are “released” make sure you all make his life as miserable as he had made yours.

I hope everyone has the best possible day.

Gwenisgreat1 Tue 28-Apr-20 12:00:28

Here is just dreich in Harrogate (cold and dull). Hope Dexter will be OK

Morning Mick and followers. I wasn't going to come on here today as I have been feeling low (and sore) since my confrontation with the pavement on Sunday. I got very gloomy last night and the weather forecast was rubbish for today but after a really poor night's sleep got up this morning and they seem to have got it wrong and the sun is now shining so I am about to get dressed and get out to sit in the sun and see if that will help ease my bones. I don't take lightly to not doing stuff - am a bit of a "hasher" when I start and the thought of having to restrict myself has really depressed me. I also feel after reading the posts on here we seem to be really down at the moment and wondering if this all the talk about the lifting of some restrictions is worrying us. Is it a good thing or a bad thing? Marydoll's neighbour is also on my mind - why buy a house in a nice cul-de-sac and then antagonise and isolate yourself the moment you move in? "Nought as strange as folk" I think is how the saying goes!

EllanVannin Tue 28-Apr-20 12:11:11

Good Morning All x
Would you believe I started to read these posts an hour ago !?
Dull with the odd spot of rain but seeing as the internet was playing up first thing I hurtled out to the corner shop early enough to get the last pkt of crumpets plus a small fresh loaf.

By the time I'd finished buying " a few bits " I was laden with two carriers in each hand, on the heavy side with cat food and potatoes, it was nearing 11am and blow me the grass-cutters had started up so I couldn't hear the TV and nor was there any silence ! Nothing between the ears of some folk.shock

That poor dog Dragonfly, I'd be beside myself with worry as you probably are. I hope the hospital can get him sorted x

Marydoll, you should have ordered a different spray as well---for that horrible man. You can well do without that.

Gingster, glad your DH is alright, he'll have to take care now and not overdo things. I had a TIA nearly 3 years ago and was already on warfarin and statins, which obviously saved an awful lot of the symptoms that some have with a mini-stroke. All I'd noticed was a stiff leg and dizziness----which you can get at anytime.

It was only when I went to the GP being fed-up of being dizzy that she sent me via the emergency entrance of A&E to get a CT scan which showed a" slight "bleed on the brain. No follow-up and no further treatment, just anti-sickness pills from the hospital, for vertigo.( didn't take them )

Gillybob you should get financial help at some point though it's going to take a while I suspect. I think once you get confirmation on this assistance you'll at least be able to breathe a bit easier xx

Yes, Urmston, I'd rather be sitting where you are than where I am rain or not. I enjoyed my times in Spain and once you're allowed out it'll be brilliant. x

GabriellaG54----sausage and mash todaygrin It's the wholesome comfort that I'm after I think. Well-buttered mashed potato, yummy. And a fresh pineapple smile

A late coffee in progress now so wishing everyone well xx

Curlywhirly Tue 28-Apr-20 12:13:18

Oh Marydoll please don't allow that very unpleasant man to intimidate you and your lovely neighbours. You must still take your chairs out and chat across your drives, and still get your family to deliver your shopping and medication. It is him that is in the wrong - not you! What a complete piece of work he is.

GabriellaG54 Tue 28-Apr-20 12:16:52

There are ways and means of finding things out. In England, one can pay £3 to the Land Registry to download info about who owns what property, whether leasehold or freehold, the price, boundary lines etc.
Estate agents publish info on prices and dates of bought and sold properties in any area and often the Electoral register people verbally give out info confirming certain data, in any case, you can find it out by Googling 192 .
It's surprising what you can find out.

Urmstongran Tue 28-Apr-20 12:17:51

jacq10 glad you’ve ‘bounced back’ from your fall. ? as quite honestly it will have shaken your confidence in the short term. Go steady now. No running around .... x

EllanVannin Tue 28-Apr-20 12:27:13

Susan56 I can remember a couple of my GC having problems feeding---some 30 odd years ago and one of them was introduced to Soya-based milk which settled him down.
I do hope something can be found which suits Henry as it's so worrying x
Glad the medication is helping for now anyway.

EllanVannin Tue 28-Apr-20 12:30:13

Nothing so frightening as a fall Jacq10, it shakes you up more so than the damage done sometimes. Take it easy.

Maybelater2020 Tue 28-Apr-20 12:42:22

Too late for a good morning from me. My walk took so long with so many dog walking friends wanting to talk it was after 12.00 before I got home. Dull and drizzly here in Chester and doesn't look as if it is going to change anytime soon. My garden really needs a good downpour of rain. A little light housework for me today followed by an exercise session and then some reading. Have the best day to can all.

Urmstongran Tue 28-Apr-20 13:17:06

Ah better late than never Maybe ?
Glad you enjoyed your walk and chatting!

grandMattie Tue 28-Apr-20 13:35:14

Could someone remind me of the name of that sleep spray, please? My DD came back from NZ and can’t reset her body clock. This might help.

Maybellex Tue 28-Apr-20 13:36:17

Loving the rain today - No barbecue smoke to cause wheezing and I’ve never had this problem. Its PJ day today as my daughter is currently in labour in hospital with her first child 2 weeks early, she herself was 10 weeks early.
After a pasta lunch I’ll be in my waterproof Mac digging in the garden.

Kalu Tue 28-Apr-20 13:56:01

Just take it easy today Jacq hopefully a good book to escape into to take your mind of worries. A nasty fall does take longer to get over at our age, gives us a shock plus that bit longer to heal. Take care and hopefully your day gets better to lift your mood.

Susan56 Tue 28-Apr-20 14:06:05

grandMattie it is This Works deep pillow spray.
Thank you Ellan?

Urmstongran Tue 28-Apr-20 14:15:22

Hope to hear your good news tomorrow Maybellex!
