Good Morning Everyone,
Its looking grey but its dry this morning in Brackley .
Today , will do my current routine , tempted to do some cooking of meals in the week.
Ready Made ones in the supermarket seem to be low.
I have Turkey and Beef Mince ,and plan to make a chilli with Turkey Mince and a spag bog with beef mince, but will use take away containers so I can freeze them if I can make sufficient portions.
My weight is going up slightly maybe apart from walking, I being unable to to travel further afield has made it possible .
Take Care
Mick

Perhaps Gabriella doesn't have a fridge or freezer, MawB.
Not everyone is lucky enough to have enough room for anything other than a tiny tabletop fridge.

MawB Mon 04-May-20 22:18:55

What was it you said about people only booking one online delivery slot per week GabbyG ?
If you order food for 7 days there is no need to order twice in one week. Most people have fridges and freezers

How quickly you seem to have changed your tune.....?
Waiting for my Tesco delivery this evening which I ordered yesterday afternoon. Should be here 7-8pm
Another booked Thurs from Sainsburys
Sauce...goose...gander?

Tesco has my vote. 8 bags, all beautifully chilled packed and in date to 19th May except flat leaf parsley to 8th and coffee/ walnut cake 11th. Great prices too.
I'm going to continue after lockdown is over. ??

We're still having weekly bin collections. Refuse and recycling on alternate weeks (Biffa)
Food caddies weekly. Can't fault Waverley.

Serendipity22
Could you ask the highwaymen to include speed bumps...??

Received a letter from the council today to let me know that the Government has allocated funds which have arrived in their coffers.
Those who get help with their council tax and/or rent have £150 towards CT and a rise of almost £200pm on the rent allowance, depending on their circumstances.
This letter was sent to all residents regardless of their situation but it's pleasing to know that the help has arrived for those laid off or working part time.
I read that most areas have received their grants, so far so good.
Boris is doing ok. ??

If I get any later coming on here I'll be having to say Good Tomorrow Morning! But never mind, it's a nice-ish day on the Angus coast and my hair's dry now after my walk. We're forecast a few days of good weather for the rest of the week ?. Lovely of you to have missed me Kalu - hadn't realised I'd missed so much. Was on a bit of a downer for a while, but I'm up again now. I sometimes feel very alone, which is silly because I enjoy being alone usually. It's probably because it's not me making the decision just now! As I write this there is the most beautiful plump thrush hopping around the patio - what a beauty. Earlier on there were goldfinches looking to see if the cornflowers are ready for them. I usually have great tits nesting in an old amphora on the corner of the patio, but no sign of them this year sadly. Welcome to Justwidowed. This must be a very hard time for you, but you'll get lots of support and a few giggles on here so I hope you keep popping in. Enjoy your busy (doing nothing) days everyone (I love that song!) and look after yourselves. ???

Good afternoon from a cloudy Pudsey West Yorkshire (smile)
Hope you all stay safe

Pantglas2 Mon 04-May-20 13:26:55

Hello Just Widowed and welcome to this lovely thread - it’s glorious weather today isn’t it along the West coast. Hope you pop in again and let us know what you’re up to - although until lockdown is lifted we’re all just muddling along aren’t we!

Justwidowed Mon 04-May-20 12:48:53

ill not I'll

Justwidowed Mon 04-May-20 12:47:55

Good morning everyone ,my first post but I read your messages every day .A nice sunny day here in Preston, am hoping to clean the outside of the conservatory today. This will be the first time for 12 months because my late husband used to do it.We must be lucky here as all 4 bins are emptied fortnightly. The grey household has been full to the top and very heavy since I'm starting to empty the garage. But I did treat all the binmen to some home baking which they really appreciated. Hope everyone keeps cheerful and those that are I'll start to feel better.

Hello all, I am not doing much housework these days, I'm afraid. Nobody visits after all. I am trying to learn to play the guitar. Also I am trying to learn Spanish on line with a course called Synergy Spanish by a man named Marcus Santamaria. I have learnt a bit and tried it out successfully in Spain last year and also in Ecuador a couple of years ago. So many countries are mainly Spanish speaking. Best of luck, and have a nice day!

Good morning everyone, although it is technically afternoon here in Malta where we have beautiful blue sky and the temperature is set to rise as the week progresses.

Gosh, it’s busy on this thread today! I woke late thinking it was Tuesday, thank goodness for Mick or I wouldn’t have realised!

I’ve never watched a Star Wars film in my life, but wish all fans, and everyone, a good day. Live long and prosper!grin

Gwenisgreat1 Mon 04-May-20 11:22:48

Cloudy in Harrogate this morning. Well, now my washing is ready to be hung out, it's showering!! Typical!!

BladeAnnie Mon 04-May-20 11:09:42

A late good morning from mid-Notts. Hazy sunshine outside. I'm afraid I've been on a bit of a wobble these past few days when I should be thankful that we are all safe and well. Ah well today's another day - stay safe everyone x

grandMattie Mon 04-May-20 10:34:47

Happy Star Wars day everyone. my darling DS2 was born today 38 years ago. My most loved lovely sweet boy. Why is it him with all the problems? Sod’s law in action,
Grey here in E Kent but not too cold.
Monday is cleaning day, hate it! But hey have to do it.
Have discovered that the lethargy most of us are suffering from is called “*allostasis*”!
Stay well, stay safe.

Gelisajams Mon 04-May-20 10:34:42

Today is getting worse! Just been to get our click and collect, seems our payment was declined. No reason why but it has meant a visit in store to customer services which we have been trying to avoid!

Kate54 Mon 04-May-20 10:34:11

Bucks Fizz in North Wales! And sunshine Pantglas! I was supposed to be off today on a week’s walking holiday in my beloved Wales with a group of (female) friends (Heart of Wales railway route) so feeling a bit deprived. Never mind - re-booked for next year and things this year seem to be looking up, don’t they?

Feelingmyage55 Mon 04-May-20 10:24:37

Reasons not uses

Feelingmyage55 Mon 04-May-20 10:23:59

Good morning. Bright sky and very cold wind here. Our tip is closed too. I think some of the problem is that for safety uses there needs to be two people for a lot of tasks. The bin lorry operatives can’t practise social distancing in the cab. I am happy that at least the domestic rubbish has been collected. Laundry day then a lovely dinner tonight as the fridge is fully stocked and there is a choice of what to eat until there is no choice! Keep on keeping on folks as there may be a some loosening of the rules soon although actually I am nervous of that. I have a beautiful plant to locate in a nice spot - left at my door by a friend who is changing her garden around. I am the lucky beneficiary. Keep safe.

Mythbirtthedragon Mon 04-May-20 10:15:46

Good morning from east London, sunny with some cloud, feels milder. Tomatoes all got planted up yesterday but I’ve got to remove them from the side walkthrough where they’ve been hardening off overnight. Don’t know how long I’ll bother moving them in and out everyday; plants may be on a steep toughening course. Dance class at 11 and maybe dropping some of the said plants to a friend this afternoon; Kalu, I’m a great fan of white vinegar; DP uses it to good effect on the shower cubicle. Have a good day.

Grammaretto Mon 04-May-20 10:10:52

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it is still chilly and has rained somewhat overnight.
I was going to have a day free of phones and interweb but look at me, not a good start. I hope I have arranged a birthday gift to DoL in NZ. to be delivered from her local shop and paid for online. If it works I'll let you know.
It's DS's birthday too. It was always Starwars when he was little.
May the 4th be with you and all that.
Happy anniversary to the Pantglasses wine
Happy birthday Marydoll's DD and any others hiding out there. grin

I am going to try and make some tea towels into face masks today, in case we will be expected to wear them if we are ever let out. We'll see!

moggie Mon 04-May-20 10:10:33

Good morning from cloudy Nottingham.
Happy Anniversary Pantglas& DH.
Happy birthday to your DD Marydoll
Washing on & do a few chores today.
Bangers & mash for dinner.
Hope all with worries, wobbles or not well feel better today.
Have a good day everyone.

EllanVannin Mon 04-May-20 10:09:11

Good Morning All x
Lovely day, though a bit of cloud about which probably won't amount to much.
A bit of washing to do and a flit to the local shop sometime today. I'm fed up of hurtling to and fro instead of taking my time, but it's a case of not lingering at the moment.

This time last year I was gearing up to see my " Oz " D and SiL who were arriving in June ! A full year has flown and I don't know how so yesterday I retraced their steps online when they stayed a few days in Dubai and went to the top of Burj Khalifa---the tallest building in the world. It's magnificent. Thank Heaven for the internet smile

Have an extra lovely day Pantglas on your occasionflowers
Last time I had a champagne breakfast was in Oz on my 50th Birthday----wonderful ( 30 years ago ! ) Enjoy.wine

Gillybob would you come under the £50,000 loan scheme for small businesses ? I would hope so x It's a thought.

A mixed grill today as although my mince-beef pie was lovely yesterday----I can still taste the onion grin so I'll finish it off tomorrow instead of today. Sometimes onions do that. Might even freeze the rest of the pie to save waste.
I probably ate too much !

Tum's rumbling for the crumpets now and I'll squeeze a couple of oranges with it.
I expect brother will ring today and maybe D if she isn't too busy at home. No sign of her returning to work yet, she'd have to have PPE because of being in direct contact with the public but it's whether the company would pay out for that.

Better get cracking or it'll be lunchtime. Hoping this finds everyone well. Stay safe and enjoy the weather if you have the sun xx
