Calling Morrisons online shoppers, please

Hi

I mentioned elsewhere that I am shopping online with Morrisons for my mum, but have this problem of only being able to view the delivery slots for the next 3 days, whereas some people (including my mum's neighbour) are able to view them for three weeks. In effect, this means that I will never see the new slots as they are released for three weeks' time, no matter how persistent I am.

To help me to try to work out why this might be, I would be really grateful if any other Morrison's online shoppers here would answer the following three questions:

1. Are you able to see more than the next three days' delivery slots? (In other words, does the 'calendar' let you view any further ahead?)

2. Are you on their priority list?

3. Roughly how long is it since you signed up with Morrison's for online shopping?

I hope you don't mind my asking. I'm hoping that I might find a common factor here, which I could then take up with Morrison's if necessary. smile

I can't see more than 3 days in advance, all of which are booked out. I notice the wait time to get on line is much shorter but no available slots. Much more success with click and collect slots with Asda, Sainsbury's and sometimes Tesco. Sainsbury's is usually within next 2 or 3 days.

WOWEE! I'll ring Morries tomorrow then and ask them to put me on their shielded list too, worth a try - I'm now craving stuffed olivesgrin
So thanks for the update!

UPDATE

My mum's phone call to Morrison's last week has payed off.

They said they would add her to their shielded list and update her details.
To be honest, I wasn't convinced that anything would improve, but I've just logged on and can now see delivery dates right up to the beginning of June, and a lot of available slots! ?

Patreesh Sun 10-May-20 11:49:00

MamaCaz, thank you. I've actually now managed to grab an Asda slot so I'll stick with them providing slots are readily available.

MamaCaz Sun 10-May-20 09:03:34

Three slots for tomorrow morning actually came up as soon as I had posted that, so that's Mum's food sorted do another week or two. Hurray - now what to do with all this free time? grin

MamaCaz Sun 10-May-20 08:44:16

Patreesh. I have found that the only way to find a slot within those three days is to monitor the slots page constantly, refreshing it all the time.
Not many come up, and most that do are for the very next day, but if you can put the rest of your life on hold and devote your whole day to this activity, you will actually see a slot sooner or later grin (So far, I have never seen any appear late evening or early morning though!)

Of course, as amending an order within three days of delivery isn't allowed at the moment, you have really need to have your trolley full and ready to check out at short notice in case you suddenly find one of thes slots!

Patreesh Sat 09-May-20 22:55:30

I'm having exactly the same problem as you and Alishka, MamaCaz, whereas a neighbour has access to delivery slots around 23/05/20. 1've tried so many times over the past 2 weeks without any luck. 3 days is maximum shown but never any slots available. I even waited until just after midnight when new slots are added but still non available!

MamaCaz Sat 09-May-20 18:55:16

BTW, my version of the Morrison's site says the same as Alishka's - that they are no longer issuing delivery passes.

MamaCaz Sat 09-May-20 18:51:22

Alishka, I have to admit that with my unreliable printer, I would be reluctant to pay the postage that way too.

My mum rang me this afternoon because her nextdoor neighbour said there were loads of slots available at that moment. Not for Mum there weren't - I have literally spent all day monitoring what was available for her, and at that moment there was zilch ( the only slot that came up all day was so late in the evening that I let it go, as she isn't yet desperate enough for her order to take a late evening delivery).
Tomorrow is another day. I know from my experience of the last few weeks that sooner or later I will get her a suitable slot that also coincides with the most important items of her order being available.
Fingers crossed that once her details are updated to include her as vulnerable, a whole new swathe of slots will open up to us and I will get back a huge chunk of my time!

Alishka Sat 09-May-20 16:29:56

First, to delivery passes - my Morries site says that "due to current requests(or words to that effect)we are no longer issuing delivery passes"And my calendar shows 'unavailable' for the rest of the month.(I live S.B'ham)
To printing off stamps! When I worked I used to do that, had my small kitchen scales + a Lexmark printer/photocopier. But that was then, now tho,at 75, it's another option closed to me sad
Still thinking I'm going to have to rely on the kindness of friends, butv. reluctant to put them at risk.

WOODMOUSE49 Sat 09-May-20 15:43:12

The site is currently showing lots of slots free from 22.05.20.

I'm not shielded but I have taken out a mid week delivery pass (6 months for £20). Just booked my 3rd delivery.

We live in a very rural area and it's the first time I've ever used a delivery service

Good luck,

You can certainly print postage via the Royal Mail site. I’ve done so recently for two small gifts. Weighed each item, put weight and size into the on line calculator, paid with a debit card, printed a page containing recipient details, a bar code for the postage, stuck it on with sellotape and off it went. Arrived safely. Really easy.

MamaCaz Sat 09-May-20 12:41:44

Alishka, My mum is in exactly the same position as you now regarding cash. I don't think that the cheque idea had occurred to her (it hadn't to me), so I will suggest that to her. Thank you.

Regarding the stamps - it might be worth looking into whether you can buy 'printable' stamps online from Royal Mail.
I have a faint memory of my late dad maybe doing that in the past, but I'm not certain.

I'm sure there are Gransnetters who will know, though ☺

Alishka Sat 09-May-20 11:33:12

Thanks for that MamaCaz smile
I'm loaded up with food I bought at Iceland atm, a friend has bought other stuff and I want for nothing - except cash
I always got 50.00 cashback weekly from Morries but that's now decreased to...70pshock
Going to ask around and see if a friend is willing to take a cheque, then, once it's cleared, give me the cash...can't think of anything else to do, really
Oh, and I need to send another cheque to the US but only got 2 1st class stamps, no idea about that..scuse me while I swear, here goes..shitshitshitshitSHIT!
Hasn't immediately solved my probs but Boy! it's done wonders for my BPgrin
Hope you all have a good dayflowers

I have just had an email reply to the query I sent Morrison's yesterday regarding only being able to see three days of slots.

For anyone who is interested, this is the relevant part of the reply:

... different customers may have a different view of slots. This could be for various reasons, some examples are, holding a delivery pass, being listed on the governments vulnerable list or having made 6 orders with us in the last 12 weeks etc.

Alishka Fri 08-May-20 14:12:11

I reckon cornergran nailed it "No logic to it at all" grin

Charleygirl5 Fri 08-May-20 13:59:18

I live in NW London, have had online deliveries for years and I have never had the same fellow deliver my fortnightly goodies twice. I think there may be more drivers in my neck of the woods.

etheltbags1 Fri 08-May-20 13:58:40

I get my slit 2 weeks in advance , however as I don't know exactly what I will need I have to ho back and am end. Mine's with the Newcastle shop.

cornergran Fri 08-May-20 13:47:23

Another one here who can click on the (very small) calendar above the main one and see availability three weeks ahead. I’m not shielded, been a sporadic on line shopper. It could well be area dependent, staffing is difficult in some places I would think. I have no luck at all here with Asda, Tesco or Waitrose. A non-shielded neighbour gets Tesco slots easily. No logic to it at all.

gillyknits Fri 08-May-20 13:28:52

We began Morrison’s deliveries at the beginning of April struggled to get that date but since then there have always been up to two weeks of dates on show. We have a delivery pass and I am registered as shielded.

BlueSky Fri 08-May-20 13:18:48

I'm not a Morrisons on line shopper but registered as an online customer (not sheltered) at the beginning of the virus emergency. Up to now it was impossible to get any slots, today out of curiosity I checked and if clicking on calendar they show you a longer range that 3 days when delivery is available.

MamaCaz Fri 08-May-20 13:15:08

I'm not convinced yet that it will make a difference, Alishka, but we will see. Nothing to lose by trying though.
BTW - I tried emailing them yesterday but got back an automated email that basically said that they are getting too many to respond to.
However, my mum rang them and got to speak to someone after only waiting about six minutes! (0345 611 6111)

If I have any success, I will post it on here.

Charleygirl5 Fri 08-May-20 13:13:50

I am not registered as shielded and my deliveries are fine- it is weird. I do think it depends on where one lives.

Alishka Fri 08-May-20 13:05:36

Ahh, gotta register with them as shielded?Okaaaay! I'll send them an email about that, once I've drunk eaten my way through my existing stocks. Thanks for the extra infosmile

Elizabeth1 Fri 08-May-20 12:23:54

I’ve tried to get a home delivery from Morrisons the other dayday however they say I’m not on their shielding list so no delivery is coming my way I’ve now got Tesco’s to deliver next day in fact I’m so pleased with them
