Lara Thank you, think you summed up (the majority of) us lot very well!

Love the sweater... want one!

EllanVannin Tue 12-May-20 13:34:45

Yes, I picked it up. Very nice to see Lara and thankyou for those kind words.

Prior to that I re-watched Steve Rosenberg ( Russian Correspondent ) playing that lovely grand piano. He's so clever and speaks fluent Russian too, obviously grin

Only works in the UK.

It's at 2hours 25 minutes into the broadcast. Well said, Lara. She reflected the mood of Gransnet accurately. Not surprising that a number of new members joined as a result.

EllanVannin Tue 12-May-20 12:59:11

Thankyou Marydoll, I'll do that.

Marydoll Tue 12-May-20 12:57:13

Fast forward three quarter of the way along Ellan It's 8.27am, I think!

EllanVannin Tue 12-May-20 12:53:32

Furloughing until October---latest news.

I'm signed in to iPlayer but still fiddling about trying to get Lara.

Marydoll Tue 12-May-20 12:39:41

Here is the exact part, to save trawling through the whole programme.

Thanks for the link Lara - I found it.
And I agree with the others that you gave a balanced and positive view of Gransnet. So many different opinions on here.

Nortsat Tue 12-May-20 10:44:51

Well done Lara for representing us all in a balanced and positive way. ?

LaraGransnet (GNHQ) Tue 12-May-20 10:23:39

Thank you. We do a lot of research on the threads to try to put your views across accurately so that means a lot to us. smile

Most certainly not in my jammies shock. I even brushed my hair for the occasion grin

trisher Tue 12-May-20 10:17:14

Ooh that was early! Were you in your jammies? Saw Rafe Spall on the other day pictured in front of what looked like a bar. He said it was more appropriate to what he was doing in lockdown!

tanith Tue 12-May-20 10:15:18

LaraGransnet I think we were well represented thank you.

LaraGransnet (GNHQ) Tue 12-May-20 10:13:16

It was either the bookcase or our laundry airer! I spared you seeing a family's worth of pants grin.
Here's a link to iPlayer - it's on around 8:25. Watching yourself on TV is definitely worse than hearing a recording of yourself. blush

Just seen Lara on TV this morning and this was the first time I found out about gransnet. So I’ve signed up straightaway as I am one of those grandparents who does masses of childcare and now going through the challenges of keeping in touch.

Puzzler61 Tue 12-May-20 10:00:59

Great idea Nortsat. I missed it so Thanks.

Niobe Tue 12-May-20 09:55:49

I sometimes have bookcase envy nowadays! Very distracting!?

GabriellaG54 Tue 12-May-20 09:53:31

If you're gonna have a bookcase, have a big one full of interesting books that we have to screw our necks into unnatural poses in order to read the titles.

GabriellaG54 Tue 12-May-20 09:51:12

You can see it on iPlayer.

Nortsat Tue 12-May-20 09:47:08

I have asked GNHQ to make the clip of ‘Lara on the BBC’ available for us all to view ...

Purpledaffodil Tue 12-May-20 09:42:29

Well done fevertree! Saves me looking. ?

fevertree Tue 12-May-20 09:25:38

University of Stellenbosch and University of Cape Town ... smile (there's nothing that can't be found on the innernet).

Pittcity Tue 12-May-20 09:19:40

Great minds Kitty...

sad I haven't got a bookcase.

Pittcity Tue 12-May-20 09:17:43

The first I believe Gabriella
Welcome Bookbaby2. Why not tell us where you are and what the weather's like on the Good Morning thread.
Blue writing is a direct link.

kittylester Tue 12-May-20 09:15:15

I saw her too. She did represent us well, pitt.

Welcome bookbaby2. You could try the good morning thread if you haven't already.

I have a thing about the bookcase background, gabriella. Didn't we have a thread about it?
