gilly, we have a couple of accounts with Barclays, one of which we have been unable to access until recently. This is not the first time and we found a Twitter Group (or whatever it is called) is there anything like that now. Or a fb group?
Not much help to you but we got a lovely hamper by way of apology, eventually.

Good Morning Wednesday
(90 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Yet another bright blue sky this morning over Brackley.
It is also less windy as well at the moment.
Any way yesterday , I did attempt to scan some photos, of my late Father.
We have a Facebook page dedicated to Memories ,and the ones I eventually managed get into the right area , posting 3 items on the page .
Today ,small shop, and see how the day develops.
My hair trimmer as now arrived at a courier in UK , so will be interesting to see when I arrives.
Take Care
Mick
Good morning from a sunny Manchester. I'm here Urmston!. We're all fine, just preparing for the birth of 3rd gc due 28th May and making plans to look after the 2 year old brother to be. Dil had emergency yesterday. Her freezer has broken down. It's full to the brim and she had also batch cooked food in preparation of her having the baby. Few phone calls later and it was sorted. My neighbour next door has recently had a chest freezer delivered so between her and me the problem is resolved for now. All done at a safe distance. Turns out she needs a new freezer?. Excitement today, my hairdresser has kindly dropped off my colour, with all the paraphernalia needed to do it, along with text instructions and video. I can see she has faith in me ?. Have a good day everyone, (((hugs))) and
for those with extra worries
Good morning from a sunny Swansea.
I don't often get the chance to post but am working from home at the moment.
Had to read the thread a couple of times to find the "uncouth language"!
Those of a more sensitive disposition would need to cover their ears when I stub my toe let alone what Gilly is currently going through.
Gosh - another good morning where I’ve slept in! Putting my darker curtains up has given me an extra couple of hours sleep ?
Another day of not a lot! Some chilli to be made, some cleaning, a FaceTime with DD and so to bed......
Stay safe everyone x
Good morning from east London, sunny and blue when I got up a couple of hours ago, cloudy with increasing grey now. Still brisk outside, I don’t know if the fact the birds are emptying the feeder daily now is a sign. We’re going to Southend today to check out the house there, read the meters etc. as we want to get it on the market asap. The plan was to offer the decent furniture, crockery etc to a charity to sell/recycle and then have the house cleared but may have to adjust all that whenever further relaxation comes in. Not sure how estate agents will work either. Also wondering what I’ve spent the last 7 weeks doing, still lots of things I haven’t got round to (aka not inclined to do as I’ll always find something else that interests me more). Have a good day.
Good Morning Mick and All. It’s a cloudy start in Worcs. but the wind has dropped and there isn’t a frost. We seem to have had all 4 seasons during lockdown.
Sainsbury’s weekly delivery today and when that’s all wiped and put away I’ll going to tackle colouring my hair. I think I’ll go blonde ?♀️
We’ve noticed constant bird cheeping through one bedroom window and after some surveillance from the garden we realise there is a nest of sparrows under a coping stone at the corner of the roof. Ahhh. Should be safe from predators until the little ones fledge.
Stay safe all who go out today, and have a good one ?
Good morning from an overcast Colchester.
Glad that this brain fog has a name grandMattie
Gillybob there is good advice in today's Moneysavingexpert email!
Weekly online coffee meetup for me. DH is off to see if he can get a bit of fishing in as it has reopened this morning.
gilly wish I could help ?
gillybob I missed you being abused......how very dare they
kittylester my cleaner is coming back next week....yippee!
I, for one, did not see any uncouth language yesterday, gilly.
Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is trying to break through in South Yorkshire, but it’s not warm, so the heating is on this morning, just for starters.
Haven’t the faintest idea what is on the agenda today. Yesterday I ironed, DH made a fruit cake, which will be sampled today ?☕️, and I caught up with some knitting. I had to undo a section twice because I wasn’t paying attention to the pattern?! Gilly I agree with Kitty - don’t keep it to yourself.
Gilly try not to let yesterday's comment spoil your enjoyment of this usually supportive warm thread!
You know we are all behind you and understand you are having a particularly bad time just now.
Aaah not after yesterday thanks kittylester . Being a used of using uncouth language doesn’t go down very well I’m afraid .
Thank you all (well most of you anyway) for your kind words and understanding.
Xx
We grans are made of strong stuff gilly. Give it all you've got if it helps.
Good morning from
Kent. Clear blue sky here but a bit chilly.
This years fox cubs showed up for the first time at dusk yesterday. There are 3 this year.
I will pick himself up from the supermarket when he calls and then take him to his gardening job.
Nothing planned other than that.
Have a good day, stay safe.
Gilly
here is the place to offload, do not worry about a few delicate eyes!
Morning all from a brightish North Leicestershire.
Hoovering today and thinking about having our cleaner back. I wouldn't like anyone to come into the house nfk but the garden is lovely which is very sad as we were working towards the village Open Garden event which wont happen now.
Thinking of gilly and anyone with struggles.
And, welcoming all newbies after Lara's tv appearance.
Take care everyone.
Good Morning from a dull and cloudy Black Country.
Spent a portion of yesterday afternoon, up step ladders cleaning the garage doors and the UvPC surrounds. Parts of it were green!! Looks like new now
Today I have arranged a video call with two friends for 11am One lives in Shropshire, the other moved from there to Lincolnshire almost 3 years ago. The last time we were all together was last November.
I love Oxford too, we were last there 2 years ago, and planned to go again this year.
Urmston it's a no brainer for me. I would keep the Toblerone
Wishing you all the best day possible.
Gillybob??
Urmstongran
my excuse is everyone loves a cuddly Grandma!!
Good morning all from Glasgow, it’s a bit chillier here today.
Up early this Morning, as DD went to Morrisons at 7am and plans to leave shopping on the doorstep.
I don’t know what we would do without her. ??
She has been taken off furlough, but fears her job is in the balance, as her company can't sustain this, so fingers crossed for her.
Nothing much planned today, apart from sowing more seeds.
I got a lovely surprise yesterday from my future son in law for my birthday tomorrow.
It was a massive heated propagator, as he knew I was struggling to get some of my seeds to germinate. It was such a thoughtful present. That man is definitely a keeper!
.
I hope this lockdown ceases soon, I know living with my DD 24 hours a day is definitely hard work and I fear he may change his mind about marrying her! ?
We have had a bit of a drama here. The country lane which borders our house has a line of beautiful trees, at least one hundred years old. They are beautiful to look at.
Last week we could hear a chainsaw and when we looked, we realised that one of the trees had had at least twenty feet lopped off it.
These trees have protection orders and my neighbour went along to see what was happening. She was horrified to see that some trees, which were out of sight, had also been cut down.
The tree surgeon told her that he had been paid a lot of money by residents on a new housing development, which backs onto the lane, (which is common ground) to cut the trees down, because the didn't like them behind their gardens.
While my neighbour was talking to the tree surgeon a man shouted over his fence, demanding that even more be chopped off!!
My neighbour ( a force to be reckoned with) told the tree surgeon she was going to chain herself to the tree, if he made one more cut!
The local council planning department, local councillor and the police became involved. Apparently now, the people responsible are going to face prosecution for defying the order and not contacting the local authority for permission.
The trees aren't even on their land. The arrogance of these people astounds me. ? It is going to be a very expensive business for them.
Wishing everyone the best day you can have, especially all those who are struggling physically and mentally.
Good luck with your battle today, Gilly.
Good morning everyone from a cloudy but dry Inverness. Yesterday we had more rain and sleet - thank goodness today promises to be a bit better.
I still got out for my afternoon walk in the rain though ? ...
urmstongran I think you’ve done brilliantly not to put any weight on never mind about losing any. I’m sure I would have piled on the pounds if I’d not been allowed out for walks so well done you !
So very happy for all the GNs in England who can meet up with one other person outside for the first time today. Have a lovely day ! We’ve got to wait a bit longer in Scotland but our time will come ?
Keep safe everyone and have the best day you can ?
Good morning Mick and everyone. I woke up to blue sky but it's now turned grey in Cheshire. I see it's going to be nice again by the weekend. We've been lucky that it's been bright and sunny throughout most of the lockdown as it would have been truly unbearable with rain pouring down and more flooding.
I find the days merging into one, but routine has kept me focused. 'Same old same old' has come to have different meaning.
I'm fortunate to have long Skyoe chats with DD and DGS each day, but they're so far away it will be a long time until we can get flights, so long haul has a different meaning too.
Have the best day you can everyone.
for all. Wish it could be a huge bouquet, I think we've earned it.
Good Morning everyone from Severnside where it is cloudy and bright if that makes any sense.
I’ll go for a ride on my bike later. I may be some time! Afterwards I’ll do some sewing.
I can’t wait to see my daughter either Scentia. We’ve arranged a day on the weekend.
Hope you enjoy ‘let out lockdown’ whatever you do safely ?
Good morning from a fairly bright but frosty NE.
A quiet day for me after all the excitement yesterday.
After a hectic day yesterday a delivery van arrived at 7pm with a beautiful bouquet of pink roses, a gift from my friend. Sadly we have not been able to meet up this year.
I ate so well at lunchtime that when it came to tea last night I was not hungry, I had a handful of dry crackers and my tummy feels calmer today.
Hoping for a better day for gilly.
Stay safe everyone.
Good morning from the NE coast where we have another dull and very cold start to the day .
Nothing else to say for fear of offending anyone’s delicate eyes.
Take care all . Xx
