Good morning all from Glasgow, it’s a bit chillier here today.
Up early this Morning, as DD went to Morrisons at 7am and plans to leave shopping on the doorstep.
I don’t know what we would do without her. ??
She has been taken off furlough, but fears her job is in the balance, as her company can't sustain this, so fingers crossed for her.
Nothing much planned today, apart from sowing more seeds.
I got a lovely surprise yesterday from my future son in law for my birthday tomorrow.
It was a massive heated propagator, as he knew I was struggling to get some of my seeds to germinate. It was such a thoughtful present. That man is definitely a keeper!
.
I hope this lockdown ceases soon, I know living with my DD 24 hours a day is definitely hard work and I fear he may change his mind about marrying her! ?
We have had a bit of a drama here. The country lane which borders our house has a line of beautiful trees, at least one hundred years old. They are beautiful to look at.
Last week we could hear a chainsaw and when we looked, we realised that one of the trees had had at least twenty feet lopped off it.
These trees have protection orders and my neighbour went along to see what was happening. She was horrified to see that some trees, which were out of sight, had also been cut down.
The tree surgeon told her that he had been paid a lot of money by residents on a new housing development, which backs onto the lane, (which is common ground) to cut the trees down, because the didn't like them behind their gardens.
While my neighbour was talking to the tree surgeon a man shouted over his fence, demanding that even more be chopped off!!
My neighbour ( a force to be reckoned with) told the tree surgeon she was going to chain herself to the tree, if he made one more cut!
The local council planning department, local councillor and the police became involved. Apparently now, the people responsible are going to face prosecution for defying the order and not contacting the local authority for permission.
The trees aren't even on their land. The arrogance of these people astounds me. ? It is going to be a very expensive business for them.
Wishing everyone the best day you can have, especially all those who are struggling physically and mentally.
Good luck with your battle today, Gilly.
