puzzler what you need is a glass of lemon’s poteen. Not known to cure any ailments but it makes you forget about them...... and everything else. Don’t know what she puts in it but when she’s brewing in the cellar we can hear chanting ...eye of newt and toe of frog ...?

Oohh I’m thinking poteen (potatoes in it) similar to vodka and gin? so I think I’d be up for that.?

Poteen cocktails can be arranged Puzzler but the vessel of choice around here is usually a pint glass, or a fireman's bucket.

I was just passing on my way to the temperance society meeting across the road when I heard someone mention frilly knickers. I was so shocked I couldn't help glancing through the window (normally I hurry past with eyes averted) and noticed the ilustrations above. I hope you ladies are aware of how authentic cancan knickers were constructed - (^two separate legs^ without a seam, each tied on round the waist with tape - ), and are not planning to wear any for your high-kicking routine? Not in a respectable neighbourhood like this! The regulars at the temperance meeting will be dropping in to check up on the performance and tell their friends how disgraceful it is!

Don’t worry elegran we won’t be wearing any knickers like that most of the clientele don’t wear any at all . Please make sure the temperance group don’t look in the windows on Friday, I don’t think we have a fibrilator here yet.

Puzzler The combination of frilly knickers, posing pouch and pulsating music sounds just the thing to bring in the temperance society in droves. I hope the Argy has good stocks of sarsaparilla and iced water. They will need it.
