Good Morning Everyone,
Its looking likes its just about to brighten up ,and have a reasonable warm day.
Today, I have got up washed, shaved ,showered and weighed myself.
I always take my electric meter reading on a Sunday, and do a weekly usage comparison .
Mind you its creeping up slightly as I am using more, under normal circumstances it would not be the case.
Take Care ,
Mick

Good Morning from a dull and damp Fife don't think I'll be out walking today so will catch up with some reading.
Having an Afternoon tea box delivered from a local coffee shop as a wee treat so looking forward to that and I'll have a glass of wine.
Urmston delighted for you I have friends in Playamar who are out walking along the Paseo each morning and sending me lots of sunrise pics wish I was there as I missed out on my April holiday. I enjoy walking in Batteria park so quiet and peaceful.
Hope you all have a relaxing Sunday

Morning all from North Leicestershire where it is a little less bright than when dragonfly posted.

I have a John Lewis return to do at the local Waitrose- which I think means I can ignore the queue.

While we are out we are going to get some eggs from a farm gateway with an honesty box. Then deliver them to DS2. Not seen him for ages so it's a good excuse!

Roast pork, roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese and peas for dinner.

Many happy returns Ginny, I'm a Capricorn so compatible with you, Marydoll and Urmston.

Lovely start to the day today! Heating gone off! Automatic. Windows in greenhouse are already open! Blue tits flying in and out of box on the side of the shed,
Shopping delivered yesterday by DIL and granddaughter was there also, at a safe distance obviously! My word she has grown so much in last 8 weeks! She is nearly as tall as her mum now! Just needing a hug now! So grateful to our children for all their help and support recently! Thank goodness they live close by (but not too close!!) Just hope the general populus remain sensible today and don’t flock to the local coast! We’ve all done so well, let’s just carry on and finish the job. We are staying at home, usual walk of course but being sensible! Huge respect and thanks to all NHS staff, key workers, supermarket staff, posties, delivery drivers, dustmen and Carers of course.
Ps will be so glad to get my hair cut, looking like the witch of Norwich now!! Will go to hairdressers with bag on head!
Have a good day gnetters!

Morning all.

It's rather dull here today, though a small patch of blue sky has just appeared, so fingers crossed it will brighten up a bit.

Many happy returns of the day, ginny. I hope you enjoy your day, whatever you end up doing. ???

Not sure yet what I'll be doing today, apart from prepping tonight's dinner in a bit. (Lamb shank today).

Keep safe everyone.

Mythbirtthedragon Sun 17-May-20 08:37:01

And happy birthday Ginny.

Good morning from east London, clouds have started to come over what was a bright sky earlier. Just been looking at a Facebook page where someone has posted photos from when I was at school; has certainly got the memories racing. Chilli seedlings to plant up as they’re getting very leggy and I am required to go through assorted boxes that have been sitting in the side walkthrough. Watched the replacement Eurovision show last night and enjoyed it, much better without the voting. Hope to see DD and family later plus couple of phone calls to make. Have a good day

Marydoll ❤️??

Happy birthday to Ginny.flowers

A sunny and beautiful good morning from the Suffolk coast. Yesterday turned out disappointing weatherwise but hopefully today will be glorious.

Our little cafe on the beach re opened for takeaways yesterday and we toddled down to get fish and chips which I had been longing for. Not too many people about and they had it well organised. Brought them back and ate it in the summerhouse out of the box. Just lovely!

My almost 18 yr old GD messaged me last evening and said shall we watch BGT together Nanna? So we FaceTimed through it. We always watched it together when she came to stay for the weekend and we would snuggle up on the sofa with popcorn and chocolate . The show was absolutely dire but ‘spending time ‘ with her was magic. Oh no - watery eyes. ?.

Have a lovely birthday GINNY Enjoy it whatever you do. ?

URMSTONGRAN - your neighbour will really miss you when you come home. Youv e been a life saver for her. ?

SCENTIA - what a nuisance for you having to re submit. All your experience and they want more and more from you. ?

Enjoy the sun those who have it. Enjoy a cosy day indoors those who don’t. ?

Good morning from sunny Colchester. The heating will be going off again this week.
We have roast chicken today.
There are lots of lovely walks from here but after two months I crave a change.
Happy birthday Ginny?

gillybob Sun 17-May-20 08:23:09

Good morning from the NE coast where we have another grey and cold start to the day.

Did a bit of pottering in the garden yesterday then queued outside my local DIY shop (not B&Q) to get some washers for my washbasin which had developed a bit of a leak from the waste . It’s amazing what you can learn from YouTube .

Had a chat with my son last night and he was telling me all about his girls looking after the horses (absolutely allowed in the lockdown before anyone jumps on me) .
My elder DGD has been given her first young show pony to “produce” and she’s over the moon. She doesn’t own it or pay for its keep but she will get a split of the profits if/when it’s sold so it’s a win win situation for her. She is an absolute natural around horses having being riding since she could sit up .

Nothing planned for today except maybe a little walk on my beach later .

Wishing you a very Happy Birthday Ginny I hope you have the best day possible .

To everyone else, do take care and don’t forget to be a lert .

Love Gillybob x

Good Morning from a dull and damp Fife, not a good start today and the first we've got up to weather like this in a long time. However we must carry on. I think I shall clean the fridge out and some cupboards too once again. I've been collecting baking stuff that I would not normally have in my cupboards so will have a wee tidy up. Happy Birthday Ginny cupcake cafe hope you have a good day. Not sure how the day will go but I'm starting it with gusto! Have a good day, if you can and chin up.

Marydoll Sun 17-May-20 08:19:27

Urmstongran, good news to lift your spirits. I bet you thought you would never see this day! ?

I used to love going to the market at Los Boliches! You can see how materialistic I am. Never mind the sun, sea and sex part of the holiday, just the shopping! Or even better, the sunny shopping
DH, who hates markets, loved it, because he could buy bags of golf ball, recovered from the Costa golf courses, probable some of his own, previously lost in water hazards.. ⛳?️

ninathenana Sun 17-May-20 08:09:25

?Happy Birthday Ginny?

As GrandMatie says a better day in Kent, which is good as DD and family are going to a large park this afternoon for a picnic.
Apart from cooking roast chicken for dinner, I will be doing, not a lot
Have a good day everyone.

Marydoll Sun 17-May-20 08:08:25

Good morning Mick and all from a wet Glasgow, no walks in the sunshine for us today and Puzzler, our heating did kick in!

Special birthday wishes for Ginny. ????
I hope you have as lovely a day as I did!

Bella every time I read your posts, I am reminded of all our happy, family holidays we had in Malta.
We actually stayed in Bugibba a couple of times, but it became so touristy. Qwara was so developed the last time, we visited. There used to be so little there, when we visited.
Valletta is one of our favourite places and Malta and Cyprus were the only places abroad, where I have driven. Obviously , as they drive on the same side of the road as us!

A lazy day here, reading the papers and footering , as Feelingmyage says. I use that word so much, that my wee granddaughter has started to use it, much to my children's amusement. I must introduce it into the maths class, now that the class have learned to use scunnered. ?
I hope you are feeling better today, Feelingmyage55.

How I envy all those who are able to go out and drive or meet a family member. However, I know the Scottish Executive are absolutely correct in not easing the lockdown here. I did hear from a policeman neighbour yesterday, that the shielding is to be extended here.☹️
The police here are very zealous, stopping motorists and asking where they are going and why. I
I heard of an old lady who was out, stopped and told that taking the car out to boost the battery, was not a legitimate excuse!

We are having roast chicken tonight, complete with all the trimmings. Most of it was made yesterday, so just the veg to do, frozen of course!?
I have awarded myself a day off from both the kitchen and my maths class.

We will watch our online church service and the rest of the day is ours.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone from another cloudy Inverness morning. It’s definitely warming up just a little bit and I’m hoping the sun comes out just for a little bit later.

Happy Birthday Ginny hope you have the best day you can and enjoy whatever you do ! ??❤️??

And urmstongran how fantastic that you can now wander a little bit further in lovely sunny Malaga - have a super time ! I’m just a teeny weeny bit jealous ..... lucky neighbour too getting a G&T delivered along with her dinner !

Nothing different planned for today ? but I’m making the most of things !

Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday and enjoys whatever they’re doing.Take care and extra hugs to those with worries, wobbles and struggles. ?

harrigran Sun 17-May-20 08:01:07

Good morning from an overcast NE.
Happy Birthday Ginny ???
Watched Gladiator yesterday afternoon and the Guernsey literary and potato peel pie society last night, I really must move around today.
I have noticed a lot of garden waste bins still out since Friday, looks as if the binmen missed our street again, disgusting as the neighbours actually pay in advance for the service.

Stay safe everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 17-May-20 07:54:04

Good morning Mick and all x

Urmstongran we have spent many New Years Eve in Los Boliches Square, my Mum lived in Avda de Acapulco.

Pantglas2 Sun 17-May-20 07:53:49

Morning everyone from a dry and bright north Wales.

Happy birthday Ginny42 ? I’m sure it’ll be an odd one under these circumstances!

Nothing planned other than a walk, read the paper and a sit in the garden! I prepped and cooked the beef in red wine yesterday so will be proper tasty with mash and veg this evening with soft fruits and yogurt for pud!

Peaceful Sunday to all x

Sar53 Sun 17-May-20 07:53:30

Good morning everyone from a sunny Essex by the sea. I think it's going to be a lovely day.
They reopened the gates to the car park by the beach yesterday but it wasn't too bad. I think today will be busier. The mobile snack bar was also in attendance yesterday.
We will go out for a walk later and then I will be making a cheese and onion pie for tea. We decided against a roast today.
My prints of our grandchildren arrived and I put them all in frames. So lovely to see them all smiling and happy. My lockdown pictures.
Have a happy and safe Sunday xx

Scentia Sun 17-May-20 07:46:36

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire, it looks like it will be a lovely day eventually.
Happy Birthday Ginny enjoy your walk later.
After a bike ride with the pooch I will be taking a look at my assessment that I got back yesterday. It is 15 years since I worked in children’s services so I have signed up for a course online to refresh my skills and knowledge of the new legislation. I got my first assessment back and I have to re submit 8 out of 12 question. Quite worrying really, it is only expansion that is needed but, I feel that I did the right thing refreshing my skills?
Have the best day possible today and please stay safe everyone ❤️

Urmstongran Sun 17-May-20 07:43:43

Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s another sunny start ? to the day. Himself is just off out, he’s made my a cuppa.

Tomorrow this area of Andalusia goes into ‘Phase 1’ with the rest of the region so bars and cafes will be open at 50% capacity on the terraces and we can walk wherever we want to but as we are still restricted to time zones it’s a bit silly. Okay for our friends in the block they have a car and tomorrow will drive out to Fuengirola for a stroll into Los Boliches and then back again their car.

I don’t want to get a train or bus yet so will content myself walking locally. Might even go down and stroll along the paseo next week. I expect soon the time zones will be scrapped and I look forward to that!

Many happy returns of the day Ginny42 - another Taurean like Marydoll. As a Virgoan myself, you and Capricorn are the other earth signs which mean we would get on especially well! so if it's not in the freezer, it's not on the menu made me giggle.
?

Chicken & chorizo in the slow cooker with fresh veg for us and our neighbour this evening. I take her a G&T around 5pm while she waits for her plate! Strange times indeed.

Hope Sunday is kind to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

That should have been ‘brightish’

Puzzler61 Sun 17-May-20 07:38:56

Beechnut ? oops.

dragonfly46 Sun 17-May-20 07:38:50

Good morning from a british Leicestershire.

Happy Birthday Ginny.

I take a pill first thing then have to sit upright for an hour so the perfect opportunity to peruse Gransnet.

British lamb for dinner - my favourite and may venture out with the dog even though it is not allowed. The infection rate is low in our neck of the woods.

Hope everyone has the best day possible.

Beechnut Sun 17-May-20 07:20:18

I don’t think my hearing as ever kicked in Puzzler ?
