Good Morning Everyone,
Its looking likes its just about to brighten up ,and have a reasonable warm day.
Today, I have got up washed, shaved ,showered and weighed myself.
I always take my electric meter reading on a Sunday, and do a weekly usage comparison .
Mind you its creeping up slightly as I am using more, under normal circumstances it would not be the case.
Take Care ,
Mick

Thank you Kate54 I will have a look at Thortful. smile

Taichinan Sun 17-May-20 19:53:05

Sorry Urmstongran. He died four years ago, and he said that a few years before that -long before anyone outside WHO was thinking pandemics. Just illustrating his 'out-of-the-box thinking! I'm the deep thinker in my family, Libran or no, so I sympathise with your daughter! ?

Urmstongran Sun 17-May-20 17:42:05

Ooh Taichinan not the best thought to share right now! Although I agree - Aquarian’s are great thinkers. They love their friends and ‘thinking aloud’.

Our eldest daughter who is quite the individual in our small family! The rest of us chat about ‘stuff’ whilst she likes to converse about more cerebral topics.
?

Poor girl has us lot for relatives!

Kate54 Sun 17-May-20 17:22:12

Daisybobs I got an unusual anniversary card for DH from a site called Thortful (correct spelling). The wording on the front was ‘If we can survive quarantine together, we can survive anything!’ and space inside for one’s own message plus add-ons such as a luxury bar of chocolate. Nice people to deal with.

Taichinan Sun 17-May-20 16:59:12

Love that description of your Aquarius daughter Ellan. I was married two Aquarians (not at the same time though - widowed by both). They were both "individuals" and great with ideas and thinking outside the box. As a balanced Libran, and typically indecisive, they were good for me. The second one was a great thinker. When I worried that the world might be hit by a large meteor (it was a mooted outside possibility at the time) he said no, it would be far more likely that a virus would finish us off ........

Candelle Sun 17-May-20 15:18:59

Gillybobs, Oh no! You poor thing. I assumed that I had missed the upshot of your dental troubles.

Having had acute dental pain in the past and wanting to throw myself off a cliff at the time, I really feel and sympathise with you.

I hope that your referral won't take too long. Please update whenever your saga ends - I will try and watch out for it!
Regards

PS
I assume you have tried gargling with salt water and/or a dispersible aspirin or using ice?
I hope your GP has given you heavy-duty pain-killers too...
Wishing you better...

dragonfly46 Sun 17-May-20 14:29:59

Of course it will gilly - you have all of us behind you xx

gillybob Sun 17-May-20 14:20:34

Your DD is indeed lucky to have you watching her back EllanVannin I lost my mum a few years back but she had been ill for many years before that so itb was always the other way around for us.

I think our day will come eventually . It has to...surely....I mean doesn't it....please ? grin

NfkDumpling Sun 17-May-20 13:27:02

Breakfast!

NfkDumpling Sun 17-May-20 13:26:31

Afternoon All

I usually have at least an hour to browse GN and eat my break at leisure before DH surfaces, but this morning he appeared just after 7.00am!! I’m all at sixes and sevens! Done a bit of pottering in the garden and am now sitting in shorts and sandals thinking I may just have to change - my tootsies are decidedly chilly!

I’d love to see your feedback to Barclays Gilly - I have a feeling it may well be used for training purposes!

EllanVannin Sun 17-May-20 13:26:02

You could well be sisters Gillybob grin though one problem in the family is more than enough. x .
It's like a pattern, but she's been fortunate in having a balanced ( Libran ) me at the back of her to help pick up all the pieces, although I'd have done the same for you had I been near enough.

Yet my D in Oz has been so lucky and she's Aquarius, just after Capricorn, which marks progress----right ! If she fell down the lavvy she'd come up with a rope of pearls grin been like that all her life.

Urmstongran Sun 17-May-20 13:23:54

No sign of Gabriella today ?? Perhaps she’s snoozing in the sunshine on her lovely rattan bench - the one with the big fat cream cushions.
?

Either that or she’s taken herself off to the south coast for the day with a picnic basket.
????

gillybob Sun 17-May-20 13:09:53

Oh I wish Candelle I was referred to an ENT specialist but had to make do with a telephone appointment due to CV . She quite rightly said it was the wrong referral (as I tried to tell my GP) and I have been re-referred to a Maxillo Facial specialist . She did sent me a script for a months worth of antibiotics though . thank you for remembering smile

Me and your DD must’ve been born under the same in lucky star *EllanVannin] grin

Happy birthday Ginny I hope you have a good day. flowers cupcake

I don't often post but do enjoying reading the thread because everyone is so friendly and it's nice to read normal everyday things rather than the gloom and doom about the virus. Although I feel for Gillybob and what she is going through and it makes me angry that Barclays are not doing what the government says they should be doing.

All this talk of birthdays has reminded me that one grandson is 21 on the 26th May and another grandson is 18 on the first of June so i had better have a look at Moonpig as I live abroad. Are there any other other card companies like Moonpig or Funky Pigeon? My twins are Gemini and one of them had 3 of her children in June too. As bad as me really as my 3 birth children were all born in November. Just as well the other 5 are spread through the year.

Taichinan Sun 17-May-20 13:00:01

Back again to say happy birthday to Ginny. And Puzzler I did laugh at your typo! My hearing doesn't click in til I put my hearing aids in! ?

Mrsdof Sun 17-May-20 12:59:44

Good Morning all from Kent. How sad am I? My DH suggested going to M&S Food Hall to get ourselves a nice Chinese for dinner, so I put on a nice culotte jumpsuit, did my hair (as best as I could grin) and full make up! We were only out for about 40mins but boy did I feel better. Now just looking forward to our nice Chinese tonight. Have a nice day everyone

Candelle Sun 17-May-20 12:49:20

Gillybob I only dip in and out of this thread (but love it when I do read it - such a lovely idea) but although I know a little of your fun with Barclays, what about your toothache?

You have probably updated everyone here but I must have missed your posts - have you been 'sorted' yet? I really felt for you when you were struggling with all that dreadful pain - anyone who has experienced toothache will know how you felt!

Are you all better now?

Taichinan Sun 17-May-20 12:24:02

Morning (just as I start) all. It's still the same drizzly-mizzly Angus coast as it was when I lost what I was going to post earlier. Since then I have cleaned the patio doors after a Kamikazi sparrow thought it would take a short cut through the garden room. Sad really - it was intent on feeding its young with a cropful of wriggling worms. Bellasnanna yes, RAF hubby, in Malta '72-'75. Such a wonderful posting and I always felt so blessed living on the side of a swimming pool looking over a bed of enormous sunflowers to the Med. And peaches at 9d - yes d not p! - a rotollo. The boys were 3 and 4 when we arrived and were swimming within weeks. Their everyday clothes were swimmies, tees and armbands! DD was born at the BMH in Mtarfa. Wonderful memories, and I'm not surprised you love being there. DH had to go back about 15 years later on business though and was so disappointed in the way it had changed from our day. I have decided just to keep my memories of the olden days. I just loved living there. Had to stop in the middle of this to laugh at DS2 - they are exploring their local area on foot now that they can go further afield and choosing their destination purely by its name. Yesterday was Wasps Nest (byke ride anybody?) and today it's Bottom Barffe! Can't wait for next weekend now. Me, I'll just pop down the garden to Pond's Edge and feed the fish. Have a good day everyone ???

Kalu Sun 17-May-20 12:00:20

Good morning everyone from a wet overcast day in my part of Glasgow too Marydoll so a lazy Sunday ahead and an excuse to finish my book then lots of footering should keep me occupied.

Not only has the dishwasher died, the boiler is on the blink! Oh, la di da, what next?? waiting for my Old Goat, another Capricorn, to work his magic on it??!

Happy Birthday Ginny?. Enjoy your day.

Your description of a walk to a sunny al fresco cafe sounds wonderful Urmstongran. and I’m happy to hear you are allowed another step to freedom☕️?

Wishing all the best day and if any of our English grans are venturing out, remember to take your lert with you. Enjoy.

CherryCezzy Sun 17-May-20 11:59:26

I only just noticed, predictive text chances WP to DH! We're not even married ?

dani4 Sun 17-May-20 11:54:37

Happy Birthday Ginny! flowers

Purplepixie Sun 17-May-20 11:51:22

Good morning to you all from a lovely sunny and breezy East Midlands. I got up early and put the washing out and then made some lemon crisp biscuits and put a malt loaf in the oven. All helped by my youngest son who has already ate half of the biscuits!
I feel better times are not far away and just hope that another wave of this virus is not about to hit us all.

Have the best day that you can. Xxx

whywhywhy Sun 17-May-20 11:42:59

Good morning from a sunny and bright Market Harborough. Stay safe and sane today and every day. X

Feelingmyage55 Sun 17-May-20 11:40:30

Popped back to wish ginny happy birthday.

EllanVannin Sun 17-May-20 11:25:07

Good Morning All x
Sunny and cloudy again but feels a few degrees warmer----I'll soon be able to shed my vest grin

I've got clothes and ironing to put away off the arms of the chairs, it's making the place look untidy. Also make a space on the coffee table, enough at least for a cup ! Why is it that they get cluttered with all manner of things ?

Dinner today are 4 Welsh lamb chops ( I could have bought a small joint with the price of them ) but they looked so delicious and a change. I'll cook them with care----in the oven. New pots, carrots and runner beans. I made a banana custard earlier so that's now in the fridge for pud.

Haven't rang D yet so will do that today, write an email and also answer one so all that will keep me out of mischief smile

My first disturbed sleep last night when I woke suddenly thinking it was time to get up. I didn't bother looking at the time in case it panicked me. It took a while before I dropped off again as I was wide awake and hot too. Anyway slept until 10 past 8, so that'll do me.

I feel as though I've been turned on my head, as others will feel the same I guess. It's not normal.

Gillybob, you should be thankful it wasn't Sagittarius like my D, you'd have gone from the frying pan into the fire----she has the same sort of " luck " as you have. She calls her birth sign saggy trousers, appropriately.
Everything comes to those who wait. x

Must get cracking as I'm not even washed and dressed yet.
Have as good a day as you all can and stay safe----always have a lert with you as well xx
