It's in the back of my mind when I'm on here that some of us have disappeared since the onset of C19. Who are we missing?

Marydoll Fri 19-Jun-20 20:09:49

I just wanted to add my condolences and hope you will one day feel able to return.

SueDonim Fri 19-Jun-20 19:50:35

I’m not spending much time on GN right now, POGS but have just looked at this thread. I’m so sorry to hear your sad news, these are such difficult times. flowers

I am so sincerely sorry to hear of your loss POGS. I have really missed our jousts on the News & Politics section of GN, and hope that when and if you feel ready we can re-engage once again in that activity.

On a lighter note though POGS, with Jeremy Corbyn now no longer in circulation I am not too sure what we will have to joust about.

However, if the prospect of having a go at me and my views helps you overcome your loss, I shall be here and ready to take you on.

However, until that moment POGS, may the progress of time bring you too better days.

It is very sad that your family has suffered such loss POGS.

I am sure we all feel for you. I think it is brave and good of you to come back and spell this out to us. Far too many people are still complacent and do not acknowledge the dangers to us all, so yours is a wake up call

Oh, POGS, I am so sorry to hear your news. Thank you for letting us know that you are ok. Take your time to come back but only if you want to. I shall miss your posts. You often articulated my thoughts much better than I could.

Take care!

Oh POGS. I’m so sorry. To lose 3 family members in such a short time and in such a way is really awful. Thinking of you flowers

POGS sorry for your losses, keep safe and well ?

POGS Fri 19-Jun-20 16:24:26

Callistemon and others.

I feel I owe you a response and take heart at your words. I feel a little uncomfortable however as I am worried this post may be seen ' by some ' as a tad narcasistic but that is not my intention.

Thank you for kind and generous pm's but COVID has taken the life of my mother-in-law and 2 uncles. At the time the thread was running over the hospitalisation of the Prime Minister and having just lost my mother-in-law I found myself on a personal level thinking I need evaluate, who, why, what and where I felt the need to engage in dialogue/debate. Gransnet was not the place for me to be at that time and I decided to further ' self isolate ' from the toxic arena of social media for a while and that for me included Gransnet.

I have not felt the urge to return to GN ' as yet ' but I would like to say thank you to those posters who have taken the trouble to pm me and have posted kind, respectful words. I wish you ALL good health and the love of good friends and family.

Marydoll Thu 18-Jun-20 12:40:29

I totally understand how we can become attached to certain posters and do worry about them. It would be awful if something has happened to M and her friends don't know.

I'm just trying to be Devil's advocate here and asking people to stop and think.

Fennel Thu 18-Jun-20 10:10:37

You're right - I'll say no more.

Marydoll Wed 17-Jun-20 23:05:21

I understand people are worried, but I think this thread is becoming focussed on one particular poster. To me it seems quite intrusive.
What if she no longer wants to be active on GN.? That's no- one's business, but hers.
I would hate to think people were speculating about me on an open forum.

Callistemon Wed 17-Jun-20 22:12:52

OK

Where's POGS?
She hasn't answered a PM either but it went through.

MissAdventure Wed 17-Jun-20 22:08:53

Yes, she's a straight talking woman.
It just feels a bit uncomfortable to watch a thread develop into a 'where's m0nica' special.

Bellanonna Wed 17-Jun-20 22:05:29

Monica was quite open about her second home

MissAdventure Wed 17-Jun-20 22:02:18

You're giving out a fair bit of someone else's (possibly identifying( details here, if you don't mind me saying.

Bellanonna Wed 17-Jun-20 21:52:29

I was going to say that too Callistemon. Had Monica deregistered then a PM would not have gone through.
I hope Fennel is right and she is in France.
