DD2 and her little friend idolised TT. We bought their video for her (not dvd - those came later) “ Take That & Party” and it was played over and over and over again.
The 2 girls learnt the moves and the words to the songs and on the bits where the group talked, she even knew all the dialogue and would almost say it with them!
mamaa - they are happy memories ?

Good Morning Sunday
(63 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Yet another bright blue sky start this morning, here in Brackley .
I went out yesterday and crossed the main market place to visit and get a Chinese take away , which seems to be the regular thing on a early Saturday evening.
Anyway the road traffic seems to building up especially over the last two weeks .
Despite Lockdown ,although I think they have relaxed rules to early if it comes down to lower double figures , but 3 figures no.
Take Care
Mick
Bluesaphire be kind to yourself
@Puzzler61 Totally agree TT were fab and I'm just listening to The Flood as I write this.
I was a bit late to the TT party as I first saw them only on my 50th birthday- been listening to them though for a few years before that as DIL was/still is a superfan!
On that occasion I saw a lady wearing a TT t-shirt and on the back was written 'I'm Gary Barlow's Grandma' - I felt quite young after that! Good Times
Good morning from a beautifully sunny north of Scotland. Had utube church this morning and a catch-up on the live chat. Trying to decide whether to cut the grass or leave it until tomorrow. Surrounded by the small of lilac from my neighbour’s garden, which is always immaculate. Me, I’m trying to look after the Bess and butterflies. That’s my excuse anyway. Have the best day you can everyone. Good luck mancgirl.
Take as much time as you need bluesapphire, wishing you well and sending love. We’ll all be sending encouraging thoughts. There a lilac just like that to the front of our bungalow taichinan, beautiful though it looks it’s a major trigger for my hay fever. Sadly it gets more glares than smiles from me.
To BlueSapphire, hugs and
xx
Marydoll your DH must be related to my late dad who used to stride along oblivious of where mum was, trying to keep up with him, until one day she took a tumble on an icy path and still dad didn't notice until she shouted out. He marched back to where she was and said " what are you doing down there lass ?"
Peels of laughter from brother and I along with a " broken " voice of sympathy for mum.
Dad was always yards ahead
I love these little familiarities that crop up now and again.
Good morning all. I haven't been on for a while as I've been enjoying this incredible weather and last thing at night is hardly the best time to say good morning! The weather's still incredible here in Costa del Angus and it's lovely, reading all the posts, to see that it's nationwide. I had two friends visit my garden, my first real people! The family referred to Friday as "Mum's Human Day". It was so lovely to sit in the sun and chat! How lovely Manc to welcome another baby into your family - you must be so excited! I remember we took the cordless phone to bed with us each night (27 years ago, no mobiles) when our first grandchild was due and when it rang eventually I shot up in bed saying "The baby's here! The baby's been born!". "Well" said DH, "Answer the b....y phone!!". Such a wonderful time! Now must go and get this day in motion while it's still morning! Somebody mentioned the scent of honeysuckle. I had my breakfast under the lilac tree and the perfume was amazing! Have a good day everybody and keep cool ???
Marydoll please don’t be disappearing down any sort of hole, remember the puddle Dawn French fell down on “Vicar of Dibley”?
It was very funny to watch though.
We want you back in Maths Klass tomorrow ??
Blue Sapphire ???
Get strong and come back soon xx
Morning everyone l hope you are all keeping well. Lovely hot sunny morning here in Sherwood Nottingham. I'm still in bed would someone like to bring me breakfast. Not feeling too good . I'm having chicken for lunch not sure what l'm going to have with it. I've a basket of ironing to do summer clothes. Have to wait until my flat cools down . Enjoy your day everyone as much as you can.
Good morning all from sunny east Fife. I’m sorry to say I’ve not been very nice to my DH we were both sound asleep when a not even a friend FaceTimed us from America at 6 am. Could have strangled him anyway today’s not started too well hope our moods improve there’s more to life than staying in a mood. Listening to radio 2 love songs at the moment lovely jubbly. I might get a little vino this afternoon if DH forgives my horrible mood, he’s in charge of the bar
not that I deserve one. Oh well fingers crossed we get back on track again I’m hoping to go for a little walk today yesterday was brilliant I had a wee walk in the garden looking at all the beautiful buds starting to flower.
our chinesecarry out last night was delicious king prawn with mushrooms and chips. Ham cooked slowly today in cola delicious with pineapple, roasties and veg. What’s everyone having today for Sunday lunch?
Good Morning from Cambs., Another hot, sunny day.
We went outside last night, 10:10pm. the space thingy passed over, I was surprised it was so visible, I struggle to see things usually.
BlueSapphire,
, take care & take strength from your friends on here.
All good wishes to everyone. xx
I think exercise doesn't quite cut it, Megs! ?
I hobble along, whilst DH strides. One of these days, I will disappear down a rabbit hole and he will be none the wiser, as being a man on a mission, he never looks back!!
Anyway, I have safely been there and back, made tablet and chicken soup. It's time for church and I'm late.
Good morning all, good news if scary that shielded people can ‘go out’ once a day from tomorrow, as we haven’t walked anywhere for 10 weeks this may seem like freedom!!! Five minutes ride out Thursday but only to friends garden for short time.and then prepared for social distancing although no one in sight.Wish my family was near enough to pop round if only to the end of the drive. marydoll glad you can get out’ you’re lucky to have a fairly open place near by to exercise,is that the right word ??
Had a cup of tea with our next door neighbours in their garden yesterday - such a treat, and felt like a very cautious beginning of some kind of normality. Like many posters, though, I am in no rush to come out of my protective shell of home and garden, and won’t be going anywhere much. AC both too far away for visits as yet, and I think it will be some months before we can see them.
Given that there appears to be no consensus on the scientific advice this relaxation of lockdown feels a bit political, though I do understand the need to reboot the economy.
Good morning from a sunny Market Harborough. Stay safe and sane. X
Good morning everyone. Just to say I am taking a break for a while as I have just started new tablets and need to see how they go.
Best wishes! xx
Good morning all. Lancaster is sunny and breezy but I hope it will be warmer than it was at 4.15.
I never would have thought walking would be such a pleasure that I’d do it twice, but there’s a target on the spreadsheet that I want to meet.
Kalu, I like your idea of pedicures and I’ve actually got some oats so that’s today’s task. Hair last Thursday, feet today it almost feels normal.
Have a good day.
Good morning all from another sunny day in Glasgow.
We have our own beauty salon going on here. Now that we have cut each other’s hair and I have my fab new toy, rotating hot air hairdryer, yesterday was pedicures. Soak feet in a basin containing a handful of oats then get to work on a foot tidy up. We could have danced all night.???
A couple of friends popped in for coffee yesterday bearing gifts. Four pots of red geraniums for me and chocolates for DH which both men almost demolished during a catch up of non stop blethering. Almost felt like a normal day.
Another pottering sunny day in the garden to enjoy.
Hope you feel you are getting there a bit more today BlueSapphire. Some ? to keep you going
Hope everyone has a good day whatever you feel like doing.
Good morning from a sunny breezy Morecambe Bay. I’m just back from a bike ride into Morecambe and now know first hand how breezy it is. I think I’m getting better as I don’t think I’ve sustained any new bruises this morning!
Zoom church service shortly then a lazy day planned. We attempted a picnic yesterday at a secluded spot not to far from here which is always quiet. Not yesterday! I think half of Lancashire had found it, so we headed back home and ate our sandwiches in the garden. I’m certainly not ready to risk contact with people unless I’m sure they have kept themselves isolated! Take care and stay safe everyone.?
Happy Birthday to your DH Susan ??
Good morning Mick and all his followers. Another late start at Topsy Towers unlike all you busy people. I blame the cat! He doesn’t have a cat flap here, so he gets his nighttime entertainment by waking us up., then sleeps all day.
Have a good day everyone
A late Good morning from the NE coast where the fog horn has been sounding most of the night. Living so close to the sea does have its draw backs as we have that cold sea mist spoiling the sunshine and the smell of seaweed (which I don’t mind ) is quite strong.
I did a little shop yesterday morning and pottered around in the garden in the afternoon . I have managed to get a new cable laid for the water feature (I must’ve cut through it with a spade last week) so just waiting for DH to connect it all up . I don’t do electricity myself (unless it’s something as simple as changing a plug) .
I took another dose of Night Nurse last night which bought me another good nights sleep . I could easily become addicted.
Hoping for some lovely news from mancgirl any day now .....your must be so excited and boy do we all need some nice news for a change
Happy birthday to your DH Susan56 he probably knew full well he would have to eat the whole cake
?
I hope your DD is okay Scentia such a worry .
I know what you mean about feeling extra tearful GrannyGravy it doesn’t take much for me these days . Seeing something lovely or unusual sets me off.
I watched some fledgling starlings being kicked out of their nest In my bay tree and they plopped down onto my shed roof and I just burst into tears . Fortunately they all managed to get back up into the tree . This will go on for a few days until they are finally gone .
Loved your cartoon face Marydoll . I’ve just got a red nose like a clown ?
Hope everyone has as good a Sunday as possible.
Love Gillybob x
Good morning from east London, sunny with a light breeze, very pleasant in the garden when I fed the birds. I’ve decided to take the plunge and leave my ‘tender’ plants out overnight; I’m more bothered about snails than the temperature so hope the copper strips I’ll be putting around the pots works. I think DP is screwing down all his beer in case I’m tempted to use some for a snail trap. Definitely getting busier outdoors around here, roads, pavements etc; even DS when he goes for his cycle ride (part of his waking up process) has noticed it over the week he’s been home. Hope you have a good day.
