An elderly friend got one and kept him talking for ages, he finally twigged that she was winding him up and he told her to "f... off you old bag," she thought it was hilarious!

I had a telephone call this morning supposedly from a company telling me I could get compensation for a road accident.
The young man was quite insistent and each time I told him I did not live in the UK and had not owned a car for 25 years he just kept on talking.
Are they so desperate they are phoning English sounding names out of other countries directories.
Do not tell me to sign up for BT something or other UK ones for call blocking.
Cold calling is illegal here which is why I had no problem picking up the phone.
If I get another such call I plan to have a wee bit of fun
