Peter Crouch is apparently 6ft 7. I try to picture the length of a bed when I am near someone.

Also, a yard was the distance from a bowman’s nose to his outstretched finger tips. A metre is 3” longer and the bowman’s wife’s yard would be shorter.

And, á propos of nothing, my primary one teacher told us many, many moons ago, that Jesus was the only man ever to be exactly six feet tall!
