Good Morning Everyone,
Have woken up to a grey but dry start here in Brackley this morning.
Weighed myself prior to shower etc, and since lockdown the urge to have between snacks , mainly because of the boredom can vary my weight.
What I noticed yesterday in the skies whilst waiting for the supermarket , was a Red Kite , which was more interested in making a meal out of a blackbird , due to lack of food outlets maybe one reason.
Take care and Say safe ,
Mick

Morning All

I enjoyed reading Urmston’s posts when it was hot and sunny here but today it’s cold, overcast and not very nice in the north of Norfolk and I’m just a teeny bit envious. A hot beach sounds absolutely wonderful!

Listening to long range DGD3 read at nine on FaceTime so I should get dressed I suppose and look respectable.

Good Morning Everyone

Very warm and blue here this morning. Just off to the Vet with the dogs. One has ear problem, the other just likes any social event! Will probably be different today from the norm. Too much chat difficult behind masks - even for me! Thought as I was putting on make up.....first time in weeks....I could save money and only make up the part above the mask? Yep! Silly.
Then drop off dogs and raid the Pharmacy for meds. Then much needed coffee chez nous! Have the best day everyone! ???

Good morning from the NE coast we here we have another cold and grey start to the day, rain on the way again later.

I went for a little walk yesterday with my winter duvet coat and scarf on it was so cold. Hard to believe it’s June.

Oh what I wouldn’t give for some sunshine and a swim in the sea Urms I hope you have a wonderful time at the beach?

Had the first proper laugh we have had for a very long time yesterday when DH insisted I cut his (very thick and unruly) hair. It’s been months and he was starting to resemble an aged hippy.

I only had kitchen scissors and made a cape out of a black sack. Sat him down in the middle of the kitchen and we both had a fit of laughter. Anyone watching might not have appreciated how much we needed that little moment . And his new hair cut isn’t half bad at all. grin

I’m meeting one of the lads at “that place” in about an hour so will have to get a shift on .

Have as good a Monday as possible everyone.

Love, Gillybob xx

Good morning from east London, cloudy, leggings on at the moment but may risk shorts for tennis at lunchtime. Got slightly damp yesterday walking with DD and GD1; easy walk along part of what’s called the Greenway which is a long tarmac path between Stratford and the river; underneath it is a major sewer pipe so there is the occasional whiff of stale water. Only problem are some cyclists who think they’ve got licence to ride 5 abreast without any care to other users. I did shout at a group of them to ride in single file much to DD’s embarrassment. Time to stop, DP wants the CH turning on as he’s feeling cold and “you know how to do it”. Have a good day.

Good morning Michael and all GNs. As Mapleleaf says, South Yorkshire is chilly and grey this morning, but dry at least. We have a trip to the bank and then we are having a run out somewhere as we haven’t been outside the house for a couple of days. I have some shopping to pick up from DD’s on the way home so will have five minutes with GS and his dad, who cut his hair again yesterday and I think he got carried away because now the lad looks like a candidate for the Royal Marines!!
Enjoy your day with the grandchildren, Kitty; I’m sure you’ve been looking forward to it! Have a good day folks.

Good morning from a grey, damp Colchester. DH pointed out that this is usual weather for June and that we have been spoiled recently.
A walk to stock up the fridge and back to the laundry and the couch today. No sign of return to normality here yet.

Good morning from a grey but dry NE.
Nothing important to do so will catch up with some TV, DH recorded 1966 World cup football so he can take himself off to the music room while I watch rubbish.
Talked to my younger sister yesterday, on the phone, we are both stressed with the worry of elder sister and her DH.
I am concerned too about DD who says she will drive from Brussels to the city in Germany to assist her aunt. Will she get the dispensation to make the journey ? She is the only fluent German speaker in the family.
We appear to have an abundance of eggs and mushrooms, I think I know what we will be having for lunch.
Take care everyone.

Good morning from a calm, cloudy Morecambe Bay. Another leisurely morning for me as we are leaving shortly to visit DS2 and 3year old DGD. Well take our little camper van so we have our own tea making and other facilities en route. I’m just hoping it stays dry when we get there, or we may be tempted to run indoors!
Take care and stay safe everyone ?

Good morning from a breezy NE - overcast, but I can see bits of blue sky.
Tried to book Ambulance to get my DH to his Hospital Appointment on Wednesday but they are only available for chemotherapy, radiotherapy and dialysis patients. I’ve never needed one before and not sure I can manage to get him there on my own, as he’s suddenly quite disorientated and his legs are very weak. He can barely get to the toilet, so I’ll have to ring the Hospital and possibly get a telephone consultation.
Marydoll, I can sympathize with the Blue Badge malarkey - no reminders sent now. My daughter was awarded her DLA mobility for life, but still needs to get an updated letter every time! I wondered if ‘they’ would allow an ‘out of date’ badge to be used, if it expired during lockdown, especially as MOT’s were being allowed to expire?
Apparently not, but she says there’s nowhere to go to need it and she has her own parking space at work.
Looking forward to seeing my friend of 50+years today!! Been emailing etc, but not the same as face to face (mask to mask?).
Must press on - hope everyone has a safe day and thinking of Gillybob and Gingster.

Good morning all from Glasgow where it has brightened up and a pleasant calm day ahead.

Glorious sunny day yesterday. Got my red geraniums potted up and placed the. Where I can see them from the kitchen window. Wish I could have sent one down to you Grammaretto. Also planted more tomato seeds and some celeriac. then enjoyed a late lunch al fresco.

Pleased to hear about your hearty laugh gilly It’s such a good feeling and DH’s haircut was a success.

Hoping the day goes well for you BlueSaphire?

Here’s hoping your empty has no interruptions today Marydoll and getting all dolled up for your passport photo presents a good likeness. Mine never do?

No set plan for today so it’s an F&F day. Have a good day all.

Grey with occasional sunny spell here. Off to hospital this afternoon where hopefully they will decide that the plaster can come off the wrist which I broke six weeks ago. Salad tonight with remains of yesterday's roast chicken. Have a good day everyone.

Nannytopsy Mon 08-Jun-20 09:32:16

Good morning Mick and all his followers.
It’s grey here in Suffolk but not raining. I hope to get outside to transplant seedlings of perennials into pots, so that they will be ready to plant out when the flower beds have been created. Planning ahead!
Urmston I love swimming in the sea too! Not that the North Sea is particularly appealing!
Glad to hear you are jamming Pantglas - you have made my two favourites.
I hope Kitty enjoys her visit and everyone else seeing family today.
Hope today is kind to everyone.

Puzzler61 Mon 08-Jun-20 09:36:49

Happy Birthday Oldbutstill . Have a lovely day with beloved family. Opening cards, gifts, sharing cake - it’s what makes the day Special. I hope it stays dry and warms up for you. ? ? ???

Good morning Mick and friends. Sun's out up here in the Highlands. Have been keeping fingers crossed for a few days as a friend phoned last week to say she had received a call to say she was being sent an "afternoon tea" on Monday afternoon and would I like to join her. She is a retired nurse and does a lot of voluntary work and this been given to her through one of these groups. Being of a "certain age" she has not been allowed to carry on with her groups and she is certainly missing them having been widowed fairly recently. I will be having a very early light lunch so can do justice to our eats. I believe it is done through one of our local hotels so am really looking forward to it - in fact I'm quite excited!! It does seem as though GNetters are benefitting from the slight loosening of restrictions while still being careful. Let's keep up the good work and hopefully we will soon get more contact with loved ones.

Grammaretto Mon 08-Jun-20 10:00:02

Happy birthday Oldbutstill.. I hope it doesn't rain on you.
There certainly are compensations with the lockdown and seeing your family at unusual times is one of them.

There have been no new deaths recorded from the C-19 in Scotland for the first time!

gillgran Mon 08-Jun-20 10:05:26

Good Morning to you all, from an overcast N.,Cambs.,
As others have said, our heating has automatically come on the past few mornings,( I think DH sets it a bit high, as he feels the cold, & I overheat!).
DH also lit the fire yesterday, as he was sitting down to watch the football, at least that cheered him up.

Happy Birthday Oldbutstilluseful, enjoy your day. flowers

Take Care Folks

Good morning from grey but dry Lancaster. I had housework plans for this morning, but an unplanned early start means they’re done so now I’m wondering what to do next.
DH has conjunctivitis-I’m wondering where that came from as he has been nowhere except for our daily walk.
Hope you get the plaster off grannysyb. It must have been a nightmare in the hot weather.
Happy Birthday oldbutstilluseful ?. I love your name.

Mapleleaf Mon 08-Jun-20 10:51:03

Happy birthday, Oldbutstilluseful. I hope you are enjoying your day. ?

Marydoll Mon 08-Jun-20 10:52:55

I have just had a message from Scottish Govt, saying Nicola S is making an announcement about shielding at 12.30 today.
Grammaretto and I are sitting with our fingers and toes crossed!

Good Morning All x
Dull, grey and cold, yet yesterday brightened up and warmed up too as the neighbour got a whole line of washing dry in no time.

BBQ'ed sardines--yum. I had those while walking along the prom in Spain. In fact friend and I sat on the little wall eating them. I hadn't realised that they were bigger than the tinned ones, but freshly caught and BBQ'ed are hard to beat.
Now I do envy that, Urmston grin
I think we were on our way to Blanes that morning to those gardens at the top of the slope---beautiful.

I love hearing how Spain's getting on, so many lovely memories. I'm glad you're there Urmston for these regular updates which must cheer everyone up smile

Nothing as exciting going on here with news that the virus in these quarters is rising so now there's a debate about sending children to school. My D didn't want them to go back but she's scared in case she gets into trouble. I just hope all her work keeping the children in, especially the teens hasn't been in vain.

Liverpool is suffering badly as the death toll rises since the football match in March so there's a big enquiry going on about that.
There'd have been hordes of people on this side of the water last week, from Liverpool, to the parks and beaches here and so it goes on. Buses and trains full of them too.

Well, I have a couple of lamps to re-wire, one a standard which still has the old " fabric covered " wire so that's got to be done. I can get all the fitments off Ebay so no problem, quite straight-forward really. Then a new large shade. Another lamp only needs a plug, as being a continental one it's presently a two-pin.

As usual, I hope everyone's okay and above all stay safe. xx

PS, I laughed at the Gillybob's haircutting efforts. Well done.

Good Morning all from a dreary Harrogate - dreary, but so far dry!! Bought a new phone in readiness for the track and trace app. Still have a bit of setting up to do, so will continue with that today (in between cooking meals and walking the dog)

CherryCezzy Mon 08-Jun-20 11:57:06

Good morning (just) from cloudy Gower. It brightened up yesterday so ?it will do the same today.

Great news that your DS1 is coming back from India grandMattie, 2 weeks in the scheme of things is no time before you will be able to see him ?.

I had 2 small dratted seizures yesterday and did little but laze about but slept well with no hiccups in the night so feel much better today ?. If I find enough ummph I will clean the shower and the kitchen today, both very much needed ?. We'll then have to take pot luck with dinner later as (unlike me) I didn't plan yesterday ? ?.

Stay safe and look after yourselves everyone ❤️

Hope you have a wonderful birthday Oldbutstilluseful ? ?.
