Thank you Marydoll! I actually just moved to Florida a couple of years ago but I'm from New England. I would love to send you some sunshine but lately it's been stormy in the afternoon. There actually was a tornado in Orlando 2 days ago. This looks like a wonderful website and I was also attracted to where a lot of you are from! My grandfather on my dad's side, was born in Huddersfield, England and I enjoy watching an old family video about that area.

Good Morning Tuesday
(77 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its looking like another dry day here in Brackley but you never know we may get some rain.
Housework routine this morning , then maybe some cooking , I have some Chicken thighs which i will cut up and place in frying pan once cooked will add a jar or sweet and sour sauce , c/w boil in bag rice .
Plan is to place into take away containers for future use.
Mind you yesterday I did some boil in bag rice in a microwavable saucepan which as a lip ,and was not a sealed container , this due using a high setting ,, caused a hairline fracture in the saucepan, any way went online John Lewis and will pick up replacement when I shop in Waitrose tomorrow .
Take Care , we do not want this biological warfare pandemic to take over us.

Grammaretto, we are not allowed out until Thursday 18th June. I hope you haven't been naughty. like me.
Grammaretto what’s the saying? Discretion is the better part of valour ???
Thank you Brook and Ellan Vannin.
We were originally told we would have to wait for a vaccine, Now we are being given a little leeway and are allowed out for a walk.
I don't believe anyone in any of the UK Governments really knows what to do about us, the shielded ones. It's up to us.
Welcome *nvgt1616 and congratulations!
I bet you it's much warmer there in Florida than freezing Scotland! Please, send us some of your
.
If you want a gentle way into what at times can be a robust forum, try this daily thread and Soops Kitchen, where you will find friendly and supportive posters.
The political ones can be quite fiery, so you need a thick skin at times.
Good Morning! I just joined this site last night, after enjoying my first day as a brand new Grandma! I live in the U.S., in Florida and my daughter, her husband, and my new grandson are living in France right now!
No!!!! My ex boss, (Headteacher) lives in the flats in Fruin Avenue. Lovely houses there.
.
Marydoll - we lived in Fruin Avenue! Our girls went to Cults Primary.
Haven't been to The Avenue since June last year!!
Thanks to all who have wished me a Happy Birthday. The best present was actually seeing my son even if it was outside and a bit chilly.
It did feel weird with no birthday hug.
Gwenisgreat1, I live as stone's throw from the Mearns.
I enjoyed going up to The Avenue, shopping. Not been since February!
Brown bears are the largest land-based predator on earth
Urmston Are you sure? Look at the "Jokes" thread and you'll see a Canadian reference to the difference between Brown bears and Grizzlies, although I wouldn't poke either of them with a stick, even if they're having a kip!
And polar bears are pretty big too!
Cheers
Thankyou brookon behalf of all shielders ?
Just popped back on here to catch up, needless to say I’m so disappointed for marydoll, gramaretto, megs and any other GNs that are all having to shield for even longer ? It must be so difficult in many ways. Sending biggest hugs ??
Good morning from a brightish north of Scotland. Washing done, greenhouse sorted, oven on so meals for the next three days all organised. Coffee and reading time! urmonston and grandmaFrench I do enjoy the glimpses of your worlds. ??? for those having to continue shielding. It is the delays in seeing doctors and family that must be so challenging. I suspect that those of us who are vulnerable are also thinking “still need to be extra careful”. My mantra has been “better safe than sorry” but it is not easy to keep on being cheerful, just trying not to be too deep in the doldrums. My lovely neighbour left some plants at my door yesterday and I enjoyed potting them up in the evening sunshine in spite of the clouds of midgies keeping me company. I am going to sit out the front today instead of the back and maybe chat to passing neighbours - those that are walking.obviously - or wave to the others - a bit like in the 60’s when we waved at trains ?
Good Morning, Folks. Harrogate started off with bright sunshine - now dull
Whereabout in Glasgow are you Marydoll? I used to live in Newton Mearns and still keep in contact with friends there. Glasgow is the best city on earth!! Whenever we come near the city, i have to drag Hubby to the Kelvingrove Gallery to see my favourite painting!! You probably know which one that is (been in Glasgow since 1952)
There is nothing that can beat the Glasgow sense of humour!!
Have a marvellous day, AGAA4. Happy Birthday to you! Flowers and sunshine and cake and.................Son! How lovely, envy you [green]
I have indeed Urms - just never expect Grans to use it!
Good Morning All x
Not very promising weather-wise, sun in and out of cloud.
I feel a bit like Methuselah this morning as I sit posting with my poor feet soaking in a bowl in readiness for the gouging process of the nails. I need a farrier I think, they get thicker and thicker. Once done they're fine though.
Marydoll I nearly cried with you at your " incarceration ", Grammaretto too. It's bad enough not being able to go far ( locally ) but not to move at all is unimaginable. xx
Sar, it seems that when girls reach 11, their hormones start erupting all over the place and their moods change rapidly but they don't understand and can't always describe how or what they feel. This could be a passing phase that will hopefully right itself but I understand how upsetting it is for all concerned.
Having an 11 year old GGD, I know how it feels and can easily be missed for something else that's going on. Maybe a GP visit if there's no improvement ?
Urmston, your lovely posts are like a breath of fresh air and I'm sure your particular lockdown will do you good in every way.
Marydoll, I forgot to say that maybe your DH could practice air-brushing on your pics----you'd feel on top of the world then
If nothing else it would give you a laugh.
Wouldn't you just know it ? Sat here feet in bowl and the window cleaner's here---dried underneath feet to pay the man, then back in bowl. Still in jim-jams too.
what a sight !
Oooh, a flock of chattering geese have just flown over. I thought it was someone outside, laughing. How lovely. It doesn't take much to please me
Made my day.
Feet and nails done now and soothed with lavender balm, they feel lovely.
I wonder what today will bring ? It's what makes the time go quicker----wondering
I have a bit of local shopping to do and a decision of what to eat and that's it.
Wishing everyone a good day and commiserations to those not feeling so hot. Stay safe everybody. xx
I just popped back to wish AGAA4 a very Happy Birthday. Hope you enjoy your special day and it contains many nice things. ??☀️?
Happy Birthday AGAA4 ???
Everyday I learn something new on GN Urmstongran ?
I keep telling myself to get off of the iPad and do something productive, unfortunately I have done all jobs, including the dreaded ironing (cannot wait for the ironing service to reopen) and I have no inclination to find something fun as I am totally p@@@sd off
I am not shielding but due to my asthma GP has confirmed that I am vulnerable so AC are treating me with kid gloves which I appreciate is a sign of affection but in the words of Freddie Mercury I wanna break free. ???
Thank you Nannytopsy.
Nortsat, to answer your question - yes I'm shielding too ?.
Happy Birthday AGAA4, I hope you have a good day ? ?
Happy birthday AGAA4
Good morning from cool, grey Lancaster. It’s fine - do washing is in and out and the walk is about to start once I’ve picked all the bits off my cardi-left a tissue in the pocket when I washed it ???.
Hopefully mow the lawn today. Sorry to hear about the continued shielding-since we're all staying in, it must be the younger folk who are keeping the R number up. It’s hard if you have to go to work, but better than losing your job.
