Good Morning Everyone,
Its looking like another dry day here in Brackley but you never know we may get some rain.
Housework routine this morning , then maybe some cooking , I have some Chicken thighs which i will cut up and place in frying pan once cooked will add a jar or sweet and sour sauce , c/w boil in bag rice .
Plan is to place into take away containers for future use.
Mind you yesterday I did some boil in bag rice in a microwavable saucepan which as a lip ,and was not a sealed container , this due using a high setting ,, caused a hairline fracture in the saucepan, any way went online John Lewis and will pick up replacement when I shop in Waitrose tomorrow .
Take Care , we do not want this biological warfare pandemic to take over us.

Good Morning Tuesday
(76 Posts)Good morning from bright EKent.
12th week almost over. Goodness, I’m fed up with this. I enjoyed the quiet and peace, now I want to hear the cheerful chatter of children going to school; we live very close to a secondary school. I want to be able to meet and hug family and friends, rejoin the bustle of normal life!
Nothing much on today. Same old, same old.
May all of you in pain, have a pain-free day; those with problems, have a day in which they are solved or disappear.
Stay safe, stay well.
Sun’s up here! ?
Good morning everyone from Malaga where I’ve just watched the most beautiful sunrise at 7am ? the sun comes up behind the mountains at the back of Malaga city. I find it magical to watch the start of a new day as the sky changes colour and it always gives me a feeling of energy, optimism and well being. I should make an effort and watch it everyday!
The beach was wonderful yesterday. New cushions on the sun loungers of which only 8 out of them all were hired out! No visitors yet, no taxis at the rank, all the hotels still closed. Loads of Spanish came down though - the schools are closed. They come loaded for bear, with chairs, cool boxes, parasols, cigarettes ? and set up camps all along the sea edge. Obviously they must drive to the beach whereas we walk down.
We enjoyed our small picnic lunch. I ate a pink lady apple. I don’t love apples but I know they are good for us. I always think of that saying ‘an apple a day keeps the doctor away’ and then like to add in the other bit ... ‘provided it is well aimed!’.
It’s LWW today! My bestest day of the week. It will be great to meet up again. I love female get-togethers - it’s always a great laugh and this group in particular have really got a depth of sincere friendship as we’ve been meeting every week for so many years. We all know so much about each other, shared stories of previous lives, families and hopes and occasionally anxieties.
My friend and neighbour along the landing can’t decide whether it’s too soon to have get togethers. She’s almost 85y and I can understand her reticence. I’ve said groups of 15 can meet here now but said she must do what she is comfortable with. I think she is tempted to join us though!
Hope Tuesday is kind to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x
Good Morning all from East Staffordshire. I am in Nottinghamshire coming to the end of my night shift and the sun is up.
Urmstongran. Your plans for today sound wonderful, so much better than my plan of home, dog walk, strip the beds, peg out then bath and bed! I know how to live?
Hope everyone has a good day that is full of positive things. Take care all❤️
Ah Scentia you’re still working though my dear. Retirement is wonderful but you’re only a young sprout.
?
Good morning Mick and everyone from a brighter morning in Cheshire. Lots of cloud, but no rain. Urmstongran I was feeling quite low this morning but you have reminded me that this is temporary. Enjoy your day having fun with your friends. I just have to wait a bit longer.
My sleep pattern is shot. I had decided to go to bed earlier as I'd been staying up till midnight and later, but I just feel groggy this morning.
I have work to be getting on with, so I will go for my usual walk in the woods with neighbours and clear my head. A business 'meeting' later when I shall at least have a conversation with people. The new normal? Like you grandMattie I miss the 'bustle of normal life.
I shall stop moaning as others have far worse to cope with. Have the best day possible and if you're meeting family and friends have a lovely day.
Good Morning everyone from Severnside where it is dry and cloudy.
A lovely description of the day start Urmston. A boost for us all.
I’ve a home working day and may see my friend later, depends on whether it rains.
Stay safe and have a good day all ?
Good morning all from a cloudy North Leicestershire. I have a practice session on Zoom in readiness for helping on the AS Carer's courses starting next week.
Then we are meeting DS1 for a walk and
. And the excitement of a Tesco delivery later on!
We saw DD3 and family yesterday in their garden. It was lovely to see them all but so hard not to hug them anyone!
Morning Mick, morning All. A bright, sunny start to our corner of Somerset. It seems we’re off for a walk on the beach, a wait and see day otherwise. We’re both finding enthusiasm has left us, it will be back I’m sure. Be gentle with yourselves everyone.
Good morning everyone from a dry bright Inverness. Yesterday turned out sunny most of the day but still with a chill in the air but at least stayed dry
I popped to DD2 garden yesterday afternoon compete with my freshly brewed coffee and the obligatory packet of biscuits ? It was lovely seeing the little ones again but like grandMattie and kittylester definitely missing hugs and cuddles . My other DGC who live in Cambridge are both back at school and nursery now and from all accounts have settled back in well ?
Have a great day urmstongran, I agree girly get togethers are most enjoyable!
I hope everyone finds something to enjoy today especially anyone feeling lonely or just fed up. Sending hugs and ?
Good morning Mick and All. It’s a bright, dry morning.
Urston your morning posts are a joy and I hope you have a lovely time at you LWW.
grandMattie better times are round the corner, just wait and see.
Good news yesterday in the form of info about our holiday hotel getting set to open July 4th. They must have strong vibes from government sources to think it will be possible. The measures they are putting into place are truly impressive, sealing rooms after deep cleans, no bed making or cleaning while you are there, meals can be delivered and eaten in your room, or restaurant tables will be available but in reduced capacity to allow for social distancing. Spaced out sun beds around the pool, and areas for spaced- out seating for drinks in bar areas.
Staff are all currently being trained up for these new measures.
It’s a leap of faith that it will be a safe time to do it, but DH and I have discussed it and we are going at the beginning of September.
Carpet fitting is happening today so I must get up from my bed and ready myself. It feels like a big occasion!
Have a good day everyone whatever you will be doing.
Sending best wishes to all with worries or pain. ?
Morning all from a sunny Essex. Blue skies again!
Yesterday we had the SKY man come to update our system. He spent over an hour , quickly gave DH a demo and swiftly left. After he’d gone, couldn’t get anything on either TV. ?. DS1 came In after work and sorted it for us. ?.
My oldest friend came for a coffee. We started school together at the age of 5 and it’s our 70th birthdays this summer. Along with another dear friend , same age , we had so many plans for our celebrations together but sadly they won’t happen. Hopefully next year. ? Like you Urmstongran with your friends, we have so much history and love to reminisce.
We are heading back to Suffolk today for a month or so. It’s been lovely seeing family and friends but we miss our seaside cottage.
Hope all have a contented day ?
Good morning everyone from Malta where the sun is shining and it already feels very warm.
My son , who has been working from home since March, went back to work yesterday, so my plan for today is to get the spare room (which he’d been using as his office) back to normal. Everything needs a good clean so I hope I’ve got the energy.
Wishing you all the best day possible.☀️?
Morning all from a sunny north Wales where I’ve only just after 9 hours sleep ? feels like having money in the bank!
Your talk of the beach and LWW Urmstongran is getting me all fidgety here and I’m on countdown to three weeks til I’m doing same!
Meantime, I’ve jam to label and put away (or give away as my DH puts it) and washing to do as rain is forecast over next few days.
Stay safe and well all x
Good morning all from a bright Glasgow, not sure if it will last all day.
I have been awake since 5am, with all manner of things racing round my head.
Grandmattie, you must be getting so excited at seeing your boy! ☺️
Urmston, I love to read your posts and pretend I'm there in Málaga. Keep them coming and enjoy your time with your friends, friends are precious.
The best beer and tapas that DH and I ever had was in Malaga, it was like a beer slushie! He still raves about it.
Not sure of my plans today, probably a pottering in the garden. My biggest decision will be whether to eat the single strawberry in my mini greenhouse...or not!?
Not a great day yesterday. I was thoroughly enjoying my empty when I received a text from the Scottish Govt, advising me to watch Nicola Sturgeon's news conference at 12.30, as there would be an update for those shielding.
I was foolishly optimistic and both Grammaretto and I were quite excited.
Any hopes were dashed, when we were told shielding was to be extended until 31st July. What a blow!
I understand why, but it is still a blow, as it means my treatment will be postponed again.
To top it all, I received a further text last night advising me that new shielding letters had been sent out, advising us that we would be shielding until, at least, 31st July.
I sat and wept! ?
Today is a new day and I must put on my big girl pants and make the best of it!
Yesterday, I had to upload a photo for my Blue Badge renewal. What a palaver! I washed and trimmed my hair and put on full make up for the first time in 13 weeks, ( a girl's got to look good) and got DH to take it.
DH, who sees himself as David Bailey, photographer extraordinaire, couldn't get the hang of the passport photo app, I had installed on my tablet.
DH is tall and I'm very small and therein lay the problem!?
His final offering, taken from a sitting position, was an almost full body shot of a wee, round shouldered, dumpy woman with a wobbly tummy and enormous boobs!
How that happened, when I'm a tall, slender and oh so stunning, I really don't know.!?
It was consigned to the trash!
For all those who are feeling low and in pain today, special hugs. ?
Have the best day you can, everyone.
Good morning from bright Morecambe Bay where I still laze in bed! DH is out running and has brought me my iPad, my glasses and a cup of tea. I did get distracted by reading the latest doom and gloom before posting.
2 gardens to do today, then maybe cut my own grass. The front is dry and bleached, but for some strange reason the south facing back is quite lush.
Take care all and stay safe.?
Good morning Mick and all x
Blue sky here in S E Essex, haven't seen the weather forecast so no idea what's in store for the rest of the day.
Enjoy your LWW Urmstongran
No plans today
Keep safe and well folks ?
Crossed posts Marydoll, sorry to hear your news on further shielding. I missed that announcement yesterday. It must be really depressing for you especially as your treatment will be further delayed. Stay strong! ?
Good Morning Mick and all from a bright and sunny S Welsh coast. I have ironing to to this morning and a Tesco delivery this afternoon. A walk later which I look forward to, no idea what is on the menu today.
Best wishes to all those struggling for whatever reason.
Stay safe everyone.
Good Morning from a bright Fife but it is rather cool. No matter it's dry so that suits me fine. Washing to do today and general tidy up once again. Marydoll, Granmaretto I can imagine how you are feeling, I too listened to Nicola yesterday and immediately thought of those who are shielding. It can't be easy I know, however I think she is making the right decision for you all. It's difficult for you BUT the important factor here is to make sure you are safe.
Our days are actually going in quite quickly and certainly got into a routine now. Still going out for our daily walk if weather allows so that helps a bit. Anyway thinking of all those not quite as lucky to be able to do that, the day will come, we shall all just have to be patient. Try and have good day everyone.
Your photography session made me chuckle Marydoll but I can only imagine your heartbreak at the prospect of 8 more weeks of shielding. No wonder you had a good cry. x
Good morning Mick, Annie and all, from a dry, but dullish bit of Berks.
Urmston, another one here who loves your 'Views of Malaga'
postings. How I would love to be there, but I have determined that I don't want to fly anywhere, ever again!
So that's me sorted.
You will miss your boy Bellasnana, and here's to you and all your energy to deep clean.
Marydoll I could have wept with you, anyway, sending you a big, virtual hug.
You are usually so upbeat, and cheer me up when I'm down, especially the description of the full make-up palaver.
Yesterday, after working in the garden, and having a shower, I washed my hair, as you do. It is getting longer than I like it , and my shoulder was too sore to hold the hairdryer for too long; so I put it all in pin curls, and left it to dry, wrapped in a silky scarf.
When I unwrapped myself and took out the hairpins, the effect was amazing to say the least.
I bounced downstairs and felt like a shampoo advert.
Nothing planned for today. There is a Zoom virtual coffee meeting, DH will join, but I'm not sure if I will.
Anyway, have a good day one and all
Good morning from east London, sun is shining and milder than yesterday. Nothing planned for today, I normally do a ‘big’ shop on Tuesday and need to be sure I’ve got to buy enough to justify queuing. Walk likely but may be on my own as the new shed arrives tomorrow and DP is still working on the base. Listening to all the news, I’m still hoping we might just get our seaside break at the beginning of August but not ready to try to book our usual November holiday in the Canaries. Hope you have a good day.
Good morning Mick and all his followers.
Marydoll I can feel your disappointment. We are longing to see family and we aren’t shielded, although being very careful.
The garden calls today as it is sunny after several day of rain. Weeding - oh joy!
I hope the day is kind to everyone.
Good morning from Hampshire/Surrey borders. Thank you so much for the birthday wishes yesterday. They must have worked! The weather was lovely, my children were very generous and they brought their teenage children as well. It was joyous to see the cousins together after nearly 6 months. The adults were all very careful, the children not so much. ?
Today I’m walking with a dear friend. We’ll drive separately to a local village which is surrounded by beautiful countryside, we’ll take our flasks and find a view to look at. Just sometimes life hands out bouquets instead of brickbats (where does that expression come from?).
I wish all who are battling problems and coping with illness, a kind and trouble free day.
