Only 5 more days to our Winter Solstice at 7.43am to be precise on Sunday, so they say! I'm always amazed at the precision of terrestrial events and suchlike, whilst I'm in the middle of my Coco-Pops! smile
Grandmabatty that's an intriguing nickname and I'm sure there's a story in there somewhere.
Welcome! Forgive me where are you, only being a Mancunian expatriate, with 50 years loyal service "Down Under" I'm always interested in news from The Old Dart. and the rest!
Another so-so day today with a bonus of "occasional showers". Made 15C feel like 12C. 14C tomorrow! sad
More Covid cases, with a junior school being closed down again, only just re-opened.
Victoria Parliament has now focussed media attention on the sudden heave-ho of 3 Labour members because of the "branch stacking" crisis. A lot of "who knew what and when "questions with a wide-eyed (Labour) Premier claiming he "knew nuttin!"
Like you Grandmabatty, eyedrop placing is tricky, with most going anywhere but ...! hmm
Megs glad the eye "incident" appears to have been just that! Cataract removal is a doddle, says he having had both done, not at the same time though. The eye specialist was doing all the cataracts on Tuesdays and on Wednesday his waiting room was full of patients with an eye patch. waiting for its removal. A comical "sight" in a way!
Is your mention of red/green to do with red/green colour blindness?
First thing I noticed afterwards was everything appeared so colourful.
As with many things, you don't notice the deterioration until afterwards ,but I wasn't able to discard my specs despite what the experts said prior.!
!Talking of slow deterioration; I have 2 mobile phones; one cheap "smart" phone, the posher one of the two and a really cheapo one for emergencies when I'm out; a bit redundant now especially as I regularly neglect to feed it dollars. No credit, no work! grin
rafichagran Seems like you had a rough day! Are you still involved with that coffee shop, or am I thinking of someone else? Anyway, it's nice to be hot, even if bothered; beats being cold!
Good News! " Shakespeare and Hathaway continues! so we get to see "Nurse Jacqui" (aka Lu, aka Joy) again! grin

Hi Rufus, no .....Red and Green vegetables, don’t ask, apparently got some vitamin/supplement to help prevent AMD getting worse.
. Ironically , as you mentioned it though , both my sons are red/green colour blind,As was my father. Not been a disadvantage on the whole. And my husband also had cataracts done (three!!!) he didn’t notice any vast change
apparently.
Cheers as always. ?????

There is a series on UK TV called Last of the Summer Wine and it has a character called Nora Batty. My children used to call my mum Grandma Batty as she is bonkers-in a good way! So I decided my grand bet name was in honour of her. When my little grandson is old enough, I hope he thinks I'm bonkers too! ☺

I am a Scottish Grandma. I live in Polmont in Central Scotland half way between Glasgow and Edinburgh and with lots of open green spaces about. Very dear friends of the past lived in Stockport many years ago and we visited often. Loved going there.

Grandmabatty, when I was 17, my family moved from Ayrshire to Linlithgow as my dad had been made manager of a small detonators factory near Falkirk, so we knew the area quite well - albeit about 60 years ago. And now (after more moves than I care to enumerate), I live in exile just outside the border of Stockport, in NE Cheshire.

Linlithgow is only four miles along the road! It's a lovely place and I particularly like walking round the Loch. Isn't it funny how small the world can be at times? I've mostly lived in the central area of Scotland. The hillfoots of the Ochils was a favourite. However I love where I live now and my wee bungalow and garden. It's so handy for everything.

My first job after I qualified was in Linlithgow. I also had to visit schools and clinics in Bridgend, Winchburgh and Pumpherston. The high life eh?!
It's very foggy here again today. I suppose I'll still do my routine walk but, special treat, I'll have to do some cleaning. Never thought I'd be looking forward to that. Still it gives some shape to the day.
Rufus2- we've booked a holiday. Not to London this time though. Just a beautiful boutique hotel 'up North' with
lovely grub a fabulous menu. I do love a menu!
