Changing the duvet cover

DH and I have stayed in places where there is a top sheet under the duvet. However he throws the covers off and on so often during the night that the sheet ends up crumpled somewhere in the middle of the bed and the duvet is on top on its own! Hence I wouldn't use a top sheet - it’s pointless. I just wash the lot when changing the bed. DH offers to help putting everything back on but so far I prefer to do it on my own. Maybe some day I’ll need his help but right now his efforts especially with the pillowcases leave a lot to be desired. ?

Pegs fall off for me

I’ve used the peg idea for years and since the time when DH was poorly have used a top sheet under duvet cover.

Must get some of those giant pegs and peg all the way across. Thanks ladies

Hi grannyrebel17 ! I have been using the peg method for years, it makes it so easy. I have found if you also peg 2 or 3 times along the top edge it all falls into place in a couple of shakes.

Have just hung out the bedding and the thunder is starting...
Will have to get it in as it will be raining all day (SEast). At least I didn’t wash the duvet cover too...every cloud and all that.

I think we both do the same Sue. Maybe my sheet is a top and not an under sheet, but it’s on top of me and under the duvet. I have the giant pegs too. It works a treat.

I use a top sheet so the duvet cover doesn’t need washing so often. I can’t do the corner thing now because I bought a super-king sized quilt and I’d need arms like an orangutan to be able to hold each corner.

I use an under-sheet with the duvet which means I don’t have to wrestle with the duvet very often. I use the peg method too but it’s king size and I am not.

Don't use a duvet cover, I bought a pretty patterned duvet from M&S last year which I use with an under sheet.

That's how I do it Bluebelle and MiniMoon

I turn the duvet cover inside out. Put the duvet well into the corners, hang on tightly and shake vigorously. I can usually get enough inside to be able to let go and put the bottom bit in.
Good tip about the pegs. I'll try it next time and see.
