The son of the rescued man said it was time for his father to grow up!

Patrick Hutchison the Rescuer was indeed a Good Samaritan and a beacon of hope in these troubled times. He gave no thought to his own safety but to that of a fellow human being in danger. He could have walked away but chose to help someone who had differing views. As Mr Hutchison said "it's not black v white, it's everyone v the racists. Mr H has shown himself to be a man of integrity and compassion which is more than can be said for the person that he helped.

Glasgow was subjected to a repeat performance by these eegits last night ,if it was up to me I'd lock the whole bloomin lot of them up and hit them with huge fines for public disorder at the very least ,our own particular brand of eegits not just saving statues....arguing against a peaceful protest by asylum seekers and then there the usual suspects with their Fenian B nonsense .These are the same type of clowns who descended on George Square after the Independence referendum, burning Saltires and threatening Indy supporters with violence,of course they did get violent and that was after they had WON the vote ....couldn't make it up

The rescuer and 5 of his friends had attended the protest to ensure that their children- young protesters - were Protected from the thugs.

They ended up rescuing a thug.

Reverse the situation and guess what would have happened.

My guess is that the thugs would have put the boot in.

I was thoroughly ashamed that nobody had the decency to thank the man who saved the idiot from being trampled on.
I'd have left him there on the deck !

I think the man's son has been in touch Grannybags and his father has been identified now.

I saw the rescuer on TV and he was so calm and dignified. He was with his two young daughters who were so proud of their Dad.

At the time he hadn't heard anything from the idiot he rescued. Apparently he was drunk

Retired British Transport detective and a grandfather - a fine example. He had to be rescued by the people whom he had waded into! grin

Another dope

My god, the dignity and determination in the face of the guy who is carrying him.
